Philippine senator and action star, Lito Lapid signed a contract with ABS-CBN early today, January 24. He is said to be doing Kapamilya teleserye tentatively titled, The Little Champ. This is the first time that Sen. Lapid will be seen acting on television as he always star on the big screen.
According to ABS-CBN news, Lapid will play a mentor role in the said series which will tackle something about martial arts or boxing. The senator said in his interview,
"The Little Champ parang ako ang magtuturo sa bata. Parang style Jackie Chan. Ito ay teleserye na pambata."
Early in November, Sen. Lapid revealed that he will do a teleserye with ABS-CBN but this is a surprise project without a title yet. Today, his inking a deal with the network will mark his return on acting after entering politics in 1992.
