Erich Gonzales is paired with hunk actor Derek Ramsay in an independent film entitled Corazon (Ang Unang Aswang). The said film is produced by Skylight Pictures, the independent film outfit of Star Cinema. The movie is said to be a period love story/suspense-horror that was set at the Japanese regime.
Corazon revolves around the story of a married couple who’s having a hard time conceiving a child. After joining traditional fertility rites in honor of certain patron saints, their prayers are eventually answered but unexpected circumstances will lead to their baby’s death. At which point the conflict of the story will begin.
Given the plot of Corazon, Erich claimed that she’s prepared to do the required love scenes with Derek if these scenes are deemed essential in the movie. Knowing Derek, Erich was comfortable that the actor will not take advantage of her. Trust is the key.
The movie is conceptualized and directed by award-winning production designer/director, Richard Somes and the story was plotted 4 years ago. The director said that this will be his first horror love story although not the first horror movie since he already did Yanggaw and Shake Rattle and Roll 2k5.
Also included in the cast of Corazon are Tetchie Agbayani, Epi Quizon, Mark Gil, Mon Confiado, Maria Isabel Lopez, Sue Prado, Dan Alvaro, and Sharlene San Pedro. The movie is set to hit Philippine theaters this March 14, 2012.
