Filipino's pride, Jericho Rosales will star in yet another quality film entitled Alagwa (Breakaway). He will be working with MMFF 2011 Best Child Performer, Bugoy Cariño in the said indie film.
Alagwa is Jericho's first local indie movie. The said film is an advocacy film about human trafficking and inspired by urban legends about children being abducted in the streets of Metro Manila. In a press interview, Jericho shared his excitement with this project since he was also a co-producer, besides the story itself. Echo expressed his desire to help the Visayan Forum, an NGO that fights human trafficking so he also wanted to take part in the said movie.
Meanwhile, Bugoy will play the role of Jericho's son. It is reported that Carmen Soo will do a cameo role for the said indie film.
The movie is directed by Ian Loreños (The Leaving) and will hit theaters this 2012. The movie also targets an international release in various film festivals outside the country.
