Singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla has been diagnosed with kidney cancer stage one, the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) confirmed on Sunday.
The Divine Diva is now in the US with daughter Zia to seek medical attention. According to her doctor at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California, she has a malignant growth the size of a golf ball inside her kidney.
“The first time I saw Dr. Folkes, he immediately told me it was malignant. So when I heard that word 'malignant,' I said, 'Oh man, I have cancer.’ I went back the next day for blood work and a scan and it showed the same thing -- almost a 3 centimeters growth -- and he advised for it to be taken out," Zsa Zsa told ABS-CBN news.
Zsa Zsa will undergo a surgery on August 27 at Cedars Sinai. If it goes well, she will be out of the hospital in two days and will be back to work in a month. According to Zsa Zsa, once the cancer is removed, she hopes to raise awareness.
Despite this recent challenge, Zsa Zsa remains positive and is committed to staying strong, though still in grief 40 days after the death of the King of Comedy, Dolphy, her long time partner.
Our prayers for the successful surgery and fast recovery of the Divine Diva, Zsa Zsa Padilla. Meanwhile, Zsa Zsa Padilla's movie, I Do Bidoo Bidoo opens in theaters this August 29.
