ABS-CBN has released an official statement regarding the "unfortunate incident" that happened between Maricel Soriano and Gerald Anderson during the first taping day of the teleserye Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin.
According to reports, Maricel Soriano allegedly shout at Gerald Anderson dismayed by the latter's 'bad acting' which causes the delay of taping. The reports also added that Gerald apologized to Maricel after the incident but the 'Taray Queen' allegedly walked-out. Gerald, according to reports was also seen crying in one corner after the incident.
ABS-CBN and Maricel's camp decided to remove the actress from the series, as indicated in the press statement released via ts Corporate Communications' head, Bong Osorio.
"Due to the unfortunate incident between Gerald Anderson and Maricel Soriano that transpired on the first taping day of “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin,” the ABS-CBN management and the management of Maricel Soriano have agreed that Maricel will no longer be part of the cast. The teleserye starring Gerald Anderson will proceed as scheduled," the statement said.
Star Magic, Gerald's management company also released a statement in defense of the actor. The talent center, according to the press release "has the utmost confidence not only in Gerald Anderson’s exceptional ability as an actor, but also in his unassailable personal character and professional behavior" and that "the incidents that led to the removal of Maricel from Gerald’s latest telenovela were not provoked or instigated by Gerald in any manner."
Reports are now pointing to Dawn Zulueta as the possible replacement of Maricel in the series which also stars Cristine Reyes, Tonton Gutierrez, Dina Bonnevie and Diana Zubiri.
