The Voice of the Philippines kicked off with its Blind Auditions on Saturday, June 15 and one of the artists who will advance to the next rounds of competition is Cherry Mae Berbana.
Chien Berbana, a 31-year-old singer from Zamboanga Sibugay, sang the Aegis' hit Sayang na Sayang Talaga. Two coaches, Lea Salonga and Apl de Ap, turned their chairs for Chien. The artist eventually chose to join coach Lea, who was blown away with her performance
Her Blind Auditions was also the first time that the TV viewers experienced the feeling of a coach, listening only to someone's voice without seeing the face.
Watch Chien Berbana's Blind Auditions performance below. Also watch the coaches' performance here and the audition performance of the first artist to make all four chairs turn, Thor Dulay.
The Voice of the Philippines had a very successful pilot episode. From being one of the hot topics in social media to having several sponsors and ad placements, we can expect that ABS-CBN is now gearing for another season this early.
As of the show's pilot, coach Lea Salonga had already two artists in her team—Chien and Darryl Shy, 44, from Baguio. Team Apl and Team Bamboo (aka Camp Kawayan) had one artist each—Thor Dulay, 32, from Davao and Deborah Victa, 21, from Laguna, respectively. Meanwhile, Team Sarah had none so far.
