The non-showbiz girlfriend of Vhong Navarro is still on the comedian's side despite the controversy involving Deniece Cornejo, who accused the It's Showtime host of attempted rape.

Shortly before Vhong made his sworn statement Tuesday in relation to a mauling incident last January 22, the comedian's girlfriend Tanya Bautista faced the camera inside the hospital room. Tanya has always kept a low profile throught their five-year relationship.
In his Buzz ng Bayan interview which aired Sunday, Vhong admitted that he was at fault to his girlfriend but thanked her for standing by him despite the accusations thrown against him.
"Talagang hindi niya ako pinabayaan. Hindi niya muna inisip sarili niya, kung ano'ng mararamdaman niya, kung ano'ng magiging reaction niya. Siyempre, pumunta po ako, e. Ang iniisip niya ako parin, e," Vhong told host Boy Abunda (click here to read the interview's full transcript).
"Sobrang humingi po ako ng tawad, na sana bigyan niya pa ako ng chance. Gusto ko sabihin sa kanya -- hindi ako rapist. Hinding-hindi ko magagawa 'yun," he added.
In the recent developments on the case, an NBI source revealed that Vhong's statements matched with the CCTV footage taken from the condo of Deniece Cornejo (watch the report here).
