One More Try is the "sexiest kind of family drama," Graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board

Award-winning director Ruel S. Bayani describes his newest masterpiece “One More Try,” starred by Angel Locsin, Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo and Angelica Panganiban, as a unique family drama that will touch the hearts of moviegoers in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

“One More Try,” which is graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board, will hit cinemas nationwide on Tuesday, Christmas day (December 25).

“It is still a unique kind of family drama. Yes, nandoon iyong sexy adult theme. Nandoon ang love scenes at ‘yung sex appeal nung apat na main cast,” shared Bayani, who was so impressed with the performance of Angel, Dingdong, Zanjoe and Angelica in the movie. “I would say that it is the sexiest kind of family drama. I think, umuusok siya sa screen. Bumagay ang mga actors ko sa roles nila. Casting coup ito!”

Bayani, who was also the director of the box-office hit “No Other Woman,” believes that the unique and brave narrative of “One More Try” is perfect to be seen by families during Christmas.

“One More Try’ is a movie that will be enjoyed be a lot of people. Kapupulutan ito ng aral at paghuhugutan ng inspirasyon ng maraming pamilyang Pilipino,” said Bayani. “Here, they will discover that a true Filipino family stays together. They go through a crisis and survive that crisis together and they become better people after.”

Bayani further shared that the beauty of ‘One More Try’ lies on the message it imparts to the moviegoers. “Hindi regalo o gayak ang tunay na diwa ng Pasko, kundi ang pagsasama ng pamilya kahit saan, kahit anuman ang mangyari,” he said. “Kaya tamang-tama para sa Pasko ang pelikulang ito dahil makikita dito kung paano magagawa ng isang pamilya ang lahat para sa minamahal nila at kung paano maipararamdam sa mahal mo na hindi mo siya iiwan at lalaban kayong magkasama.”

Apoy Sa Dagat Full Trailer Released!

ABS-CBN has released the full trailer of the upcoming 2013 teleserye Apoy Sa Dagat starring Angelica Panganiban, Piolo Pascual and Diether Ocampo.

Coming from Rubi where Angelica portrayed a bida-kontrabida role, Apoy Sa Dagat poses another challenge to the actress as she plays a dual role—the protagonist Serena and the antagonist Rebecca. In Apoy, Serena as a child drifts off from a ship accident at sea to a fishing village, where she takes on a new name and grows up with her best friend Ruben (Piolo Pascual). As Serena pursues her dreams in the city, she meets Rebecca, with whom she will share the man she loves.

Also starring Angel Aquino, Sylvia Sanchez, Liza Lorena, Nikki Gil, Empress and Patrick Garcia, and directed by F.M. Reyes and Nick Olanka, Apoy Sa Dagat is set to premiere February 2013 as part of ABS-CBN's first quarter offering.

Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban on Best Actress trophy: "Yes, may laban kami!"

Despite early predictions that Nora Aunor will bag the Best Actress trophy come Metro Manila Film Festival 2012 awards night, One More Try actresses Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban said that they also stand a chance at winning.

"Yes, may laban kami! Pero naniniwala kaming may himala," said Angelica who plays the power woman Jacq in the Star Cinema movie.

"Si Ate Guy po ‘yon. Nirerepesto natin ang galing niya. Pero hindi naman namin mamaliitin ang effort na pinakita namin sa pelikulang ito. Si Angelica, masasabi kong napakagaling niya sa pelikulang ito. Ako, hindi rin naman ako nagpatalo," said Angel Locsin who plays Grace, a single mom who will do anything for her ill child.

Even the director of the movie, Ruel Bayani claimed that both Angel and Angelica deserved the Best Actress award, even though Nora Aunor has already earned awards for her performance in Thy Womb.

"Siyempre ang mga tao sasabihin si Ate Guy (Nora Aunor) 'yun at wala namang laban 'yung dalawang bata. Pero hindi ganoon ang buhay. Ang buhay paggising mo may laban ka," direk Ruel Bayani said during the press conference of One More Try. "Yes, may laban si Angel at Angelica for best actress," he was quoted.

Direk Ruel, who also helmed the smash hit No Other Woman said that One More Try is better than the former which he considers as his best film so far.

One More Try, which opens in theaters this December 25 as part of the 2012 MMFF also stars Dingdong Dantes and Zanjoe Marudo, who according to several critics deserved acting accolades as well for their performances in the movie.

Anne Curtis-Dingdong Dantes Movie in the Works

Another cross-network movie project might come into fruition as talks for a Dingdong Dantes and Anne Curtis movie have been underway. 

According to reports, a new film that will star Anne Curtis and Dingdong Dantes is currently in the works which will be helmed by Chris Martinez, the acclaimed director of Here Comes The Bride and writer of Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank.

The planned tandem between Dingdong Dantes and Anne Curtis was made possible by the actor's renewed ties with Viva, which also manages the career of Anne. Dingdong recently signed a two-year non-exclusive movie contract with Viva Films.

In an interview with ABS-CBN news, Dingdong confirmed the planned team-up. "Wala pa namang specific title na sinabi, but I think they're working towards that direction (tandem with Curtis), so we'll see," he said.

Dingdong has been a favorite leading men for Kapamilya movie actresses. Last year, he won his first ever MMFF Best Actor award for his performance in Segunda Mano opposite Kris Aquino and Angelica Panganiban. This year, he will again prove his worth as an actor via the Star Cinema MMFF 2012 entry One More Try, starring with Kapamilya stars Angel Locsin, Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo.

Below is the main plot of 24/7 in Love:

The story revolves around Jane (Kathryn) in her search for answers on 'What will people do before the world ends?' to be her video entry to win tickets to the concert of her her ultimate crush, Billy Fernandez (Daniel).  In her quest to find the answers to her question, she met different people who will tell her how powerful true love can be. Among them were a 40-year old virgin named Virgie (Pokwang) who will meet a gigolo Charles (Sam Milby); the hopeless romantic secretary Barbara (Maja) helping his boss Ken (Diet) with personal issues; Verna (Angel) who went to vacation in Vietnam and will meet a waiter Elvis (John Lloyd); Belle (Bea) who is in love with gay best friend Butch (Zanjoe); a 35 year old mentally challenged Mike (Piolo) with child stars Zaijan & Xyriel; and an active account executive Patty ( Kim) who wanted to get Alvin (Gerald) as a model for their company.

Angelica Airs Her Side on John Lloyd's Admission on SIR this November 3

After John Lloyd Cruz’ brave admission last Sunday in “The Buzz,” his girlfriend Angelica Panganiban will open up and share her side of about their much talked about love story this Saturday (November 3) in ABS-CBN’s trending entertainment talkshow “Showbiz Inside Report.”

John Lloyd Cruz Finally Admits Relationship With Angelica Panganiban

Actor John Lloyd Cruz finally admitted that he is in a relationship with Angelica Panganiban. In an interview with The Buzz on Sunday, October 28, John Lloyd confirmed that Angelica is indeed his girlfriend, saying that he is "beyond happiness."

Before John Lloyd's admission, Angelica's director in Madaling Araw, Mahabang Gabi Dante Nico Garcia already spilled the beans on John Lloyd and Angelica's 4-month relationship.

According to John Lloyd,  he has known Angelica for the longest time until that day came when he saw the actress in a different light all of a sudden. John Lloyd, however said he and Angelica still refuse to go into details about their relationship.

“It is something na hindi namin ine-expect. Parang bigla na lang saan galing ito, saan galing iyon? Suddenly it’s magic. But seriously, iyon talaga ang nagyari,” he said.

“Wala naman kaming tinatago, wala naman kaming dapat pagtaguan or paglihiman. Hindi naman kami para umiwas sa tanong. Kung may nagtanong, opo kami po,” he explained 

Before his interview ended, he greeted Angelica on air saying “Hi love!”

John Lloyd and Angelica were paired in the upcoming Star Magic movie 24/7 in Love. When the two returned from the said movie shoot in Vietnam last April, rumors about a blossoming romance between the two surfaced.

Last August 12, a collage photo of the two sharing a "perfect Sunday" was posted by John Lloyd using Angelica's Instagram account, the first time the couple hinted about their relationship. The two had gone public when they were seen holding hands leaving the hotel during the Star Magic Ball last September 1.

There were also rumors that John Lloyd gave Angelica a Mercedes Benz as a gift amounting to about P5.1 million, a sign of a deeper relationship between the two.
