StarStudio Celebrity Style Awards 2013 Nominees

In celebration of its 13th anniversary, StarStudio brings back the magazine's most glamorous event, the StarStudio Celebrity Style Awards. Started in 2010, this is the second year that StarStudio magazine will recognize the best of celebrity fashion in the Philippine entertainment industry.

The nominees were determined by the 2013 Style Council composed of School of Fashion and the Arts co-founder Amina Aranaz-Alunan, veteran fashion show director Jackie Aquino, professional model-actress Marina Benipayo, fashion designer Randy Ortiz and Metro Magazine creative director Patrick Ty.

Sam Pinto Overtakes Angel Locsin in FHM 100 Sexiest 2013; Marian Rivera Still on Top

Last year's winner Sam Pinto overtook Angel Locsin in the latest update of FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2013. Sam grabbed the second spot while Angel now settles in third place. Still on top is Kapuso star Marian Rivera.

Sarah Geronimo is SMDC Newest Brand Ambassador, Replaces Anne Curtis?

Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo has been tapped to be the new face of SM Development Corporation (SMDC), the SM group's property development arm.

The big reveal happened on SMDC's annual stockholders meeting on Wednesday. According to the company's marketing head Nita Claravall, Sarah will soon be launched as SMDC's new brand ambassador.

"For this year, we will have new brand ambassadors, the most popular women in the country today... By end of May, we will be launching Sarah Geronimo," Claravall said.

SMDC vice chairman Henry T. Sy Jr. welcomed Sarah as the newest brand ambassador of SMDC during the press briefing.

"First thing, she can sing very well. It is not saying that Anne doesn’t sing very well. Sarah just sings better, I suppose. We can advertise all over the raido stations. She’s upcoming, she’s young and very vibrant," said the son of Henry Sy, the country’s richest man.

We can expect Sarah to grace huge billboards of SMDC and appear in the newest commercial of the brand and even in radio ads. The question, however, is that will Sarah be replacing Anne Curtis who used to be the face of the brand?

Nita Claravall cleared this issue, confirming that Sarah, whose career is being handled by Viva, will just be an addition and will not replace Anne Curtis, a Viva talent as well.

"She’s very popular (referring to Sarah). It makes sense for us because Sarah and Anne are at the top of their game right now. Sarah Geronimo will appeal to the mass market, while Anne Curtis will appeal to the A, B and C markets," Claravall said.

Anne Curtis Belts Out 'Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw' on ASAP 18 (April 14)

Anne Curtis once again performed in the ASAP 18 stage on Sunday, April 14. However, unlike her previous guesting which became controversial due to her outfit, Anne made sure this time that it will not be her dress that will be talk of the town.

Anne Curtis graced ASAP to perform the theme song of her television series Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw, which is now down to its final week. Wearing a long black dress (without slit), Anne belted out the Regine Velasquez song while Homer Flores accompanied her in the piano.

The term "Go Anne" trended on Twitter after her ASAP performance with netizens commending her for the confidence she had shown during the guesting.

Alden Richards Willing to Do Kissing Scene with John Lloyd Cruz

Rising star Alden Richards revealed that he has always wanted to work with award-winning actor John Lloyd Cruz. In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal, Alden shared that he idolized the Kapamilya actor.

When asked if what role he would want him and John Lloyd to portray, Alden exclaimed, "Mag-kuya po, magkapatid sana." 

Alden also expressed his willingness to do a kissing scene with John Lloyd Cruz if given a project like In My Life where JLC played a gay lover to Luis Manzano.

"Okay lang din po [na gumanap ako ng bading at lover ni John Lloyd sa kwento]," Alden told PEP. "Opo, okay lang. Basta maganda po yung story and hindi naman po kababoy-baboy."

"Okay lang din po [kung may kissing scene], added Alden. "Acting lang naman po, as an actor lang naman po. Kasi pag trabaho naman at challenging po, at the same time basta maganda po yung script and then yung talagang for the sake of the story."

Alden said that he will work hard to perfect his craft as an actor when the time comes that he gets to work with his idol, hoping that Star Cinema and GMA-7 will allow the said project if ever.

Alden also wishes to work with Anne Curtis. He said that he is willing to do love scenes with Anne and will go all the way to the point of a butt exposure when the movie calls for it.

"Tatanggi pa ba ako [kung si Anne Curtis ang kasama]? Magdyi-gym po talaga ako nang magdyi-gym para mapaghandaan ko yung role," said Alden.

ABS-CBN dominated the 9th USTv Students' Choice Awards (2013) held March 7 at the UST Plaza Mayor in Espana, Manila.  The Kapamilya network garnered 20 awards while GMA Network and TV-5 bagged 8 and 1, respectively.

MTRCB: No Sanction for Anne Curtis' Wet Number in ASAP

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) did not impose any sanction on Anne Curtis' wet look number on ASAP 18. The controversial production number aired on ASAP's February 24 episode.

The said birthday prod saw Anne Curtis wearing a sexy high-slit outfit while singing under an artificial rain, making an illusion that she has no underwear. The actress-host however, cleared that she wore a two-piece with a protector (a tangga underneath the skirt) so it is impossible that her privates will make a debut on national TV.

Although MTRCB did not sanction ASAP 18, its hosts and staff will have to undergo a gender-sensitivity seminar on March 15 under the supervision of the MTRCB and the Commission of Women.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN has released an official statement about the issue through its Head of Corporate Communications Bong Osorio (read below).

“ABS-CBN will continue to cooperate with the MTRCB and ensure that its programs will be in accordance with the gender sensitivity guidelines of the board. ABS-CBN thanks the board for hearing its side of the issue as it gives its assurance to self-regulate.”

Anne, who stood on a platform in the middle of the ASAP studio, sang the song live and as the drama of the song unfolds, water also starts to pour from the ceiling. Wearing a black dress with a waist-high slit, Anne exuded a sexy vibe especially when she got fully wet with the 'bathing in the rain' effect inside the studio.

The ASAP studio audience applauded Anne Curtis after the said birthday prod. The actress thanked God that even though she was not given beautiful singing voice, God blessed her with an exuding self confidence.

Anne Curtis Performs 'Titanium' on It's Showtime Opening (Jan 26)

Anne Curtis opened the noontime variety show It's Showtime on Saturday, January 26 with with a song-and-stunt performance of the club hit Titanium.

Anne Curtis channeled the 'Annebisyosa' vibe as she owns the stage like it's her own concert while singing the David Guetta-Sia hit Titanium and doing aerial stunts. After Anne's performance, Titanium trended on Twitter. Anne, on Twitter then thanked all the fans who watched her performance, saying that she dedicated the performance to all the non-singers out there.

ABS-CBN’s noontime show “It’s Showtime” is all set for a star-studded show this Saturday (Jan 26) for its opening salvo to introduce its all-new segments with exciting prizes for its loyal ‘madlang people.’

Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta will add glitter and unleash their inner crazy in the comedic skit “Sine Mo ‘To,” while Journey vocalist and Pinoy pride Arnel Pineda will render a world-class performance.
