Kathryn Bernardo Prepares For Debut; Daniel Padilla is Escort

Teen Queen Kathryn Bernardo admitted that Daniel Padilla will be her escort on her debut. Kathryn will be celebrating her 18th birthday this March 26 and the young actress revealed that they are now starting the preparations for the big event.

In a report by Ginger Conejero, Kathryn admitted that Daniel Padilla will be part of her debut. "Siyempre pupunta din si DJ," she said to which Daniel responds "Natural."

Kathryn said that she wanted her debut to be not the typical one with a long program. She, however, wishes that this special day will be spent with family and friends where everyone will enjoy.

Kathryn, Daniel, Julia and Enrique Renew Contracts With ABS-CBN

Hottest teen stars of today Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Julia Montes and Enrique Gil renewed their contracts with ABS-CBN on Thursday, January 30.

The four stars signed another three-year contract with the Kapamilya network. Present in the contract signing were ABS-CBN President and CEO Charo Santos-Concio, broadcast head Cory Vidanes and TV production head Laurenti Dyogi.

Fans of the popular love team of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo will be able to see their idols in more ABS-CBN projects. The two currently star in the top-rating series Got to Believe and will soon start shooting for the movie adaptation of pop fiction She's Dating the Gangster written by Bianca Bernardino (read more about the movie here).

Meanwhile, Enrique Gil will soon be seen in the primetime teleserye Mira Bella opposite rising star Julia Barretto. They will be joined by Sam Concepcion, Pokwang, Mylene Dizon, John 'Sweet' Lapus, and James Blanco, among others.

Julia Montes, on the other hand, is part of the big cast of a once in a lifetime TV event, Ikaw Lamang. The said teleserye is a period action-drama featuring the first team up of Coco Martin and Kim Chiu. The epic love story is slated to premiere this March 2014.

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla Topbill She's Dating the Gangster Movie

Fresh from the success of MMFF 2013 entry Pagpag, today's hottest love team Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla will now star in the upcoming movie adaptation of She's Dating the Gangster, one of the best-selling books of 2013.

The bestselling book She’s Dating the Gangster made its debut in media as an online book published in Wattpad. Afterwards, Summit Books published it last March 2013.  The book, which is written by Bianca Bernardino, consistently figured in the bestselling charts. The popularity of the work urged Star Cinema to buy the rights for a movie remake. 

In a Candy Mag interview, the author said that she's seeing Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo bringing her characters to life if ever the work will be adapted into a movie. She cited Daniel's "bad boy aura" and Kathryn's vibe similar to the girl protagonist as the reason why they perfectly fit the roles.

She’s Dating the Gangster is the story of Athena Dizon who falls in love with her fake boyfriend Kenji de los Reyes, a gangster and a campus heartthrob.

With the success of movies adapted from best-selling books such as Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo, Star Cinema is now creating waves with this new project. Aside from She’s Dating the Gangster, the film outfit is also adapting the bestselling Precious Hearts Romances title of all time, Once A Princess to be topbilled by Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzales (read more about it here).

The movie adaptation of She's Dating the Gangster will be directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, the director of KathNiel's romantic series Got to Believe. The production team targets filming this March 2014.

Got to Believe Beats Carmela; The Legal Wife Pilot Slaps Rhodora X in National TV Ratings

ABS-CBN Primetime Bida continues to dominate nationwide TV ratings with the premiere of its first series for the year 2014, The Legal Wife starring Angel Locsin, Jericho Rosales, Maja Salvador and JC de Vera.

On its pilot episode on January 27, the said teleserye registered a national TV ratings  of 21%, beating rival program Rhodora X starring Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras, which also premiered on Monday. 

The Legal Wife also trended on Twitter worldwide claiming the first spot with several other terms related to the series dominating the Philippines' top 10 trends. The hashtag #TheLegalWifePilotEpisode is still trending as of this posting.

Meanwhile, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's series Got to Believe put Marian Rivera's Carmela to shame after posting 29.8% TV ratings nationwide. The Kapuso program, on the other hand only got half of Got to Believe's rating (14.4%).

The Legal Wife and Got to Believe were also winners in Mega Manila and Metro Manila, according to Kantar Media.

Topping national TV ratings on January 27 is the primetime series Honesto starring Paulo Avelino, Janice de Belen, Eddie Garcia, Joel Torre, Angel Aquino and child star Raikko Mateo. The teleserye reigned with 33.3% ratings nationwide.

Daniel Padilla Sings 'Ako'y Sayo at Ika'y Akin Lamang' with Parents on GGV (January 26)

Teen King Daniel Padilla guested on Gandang Gabi Vice Sunday (January 26). Daniel was joined by his parents Karla Estrada and Rommel Padilla, as well as his brothers Matt and RJ.

The full GGV January 26 episode was solely dedicated to the Padillas, with both Karla and Rommel revealing things about Daniel. They also re-enact the break-up scene of Chichay and Joaquin in Got to Believe, to which Vice Ganda praise Daniel for having improved in the acting department.

In the said episode, Daniel also had the chance to sing Ako'y Sayo at Ika'y Akin Lamang with his parents. Watch the video below and find out where did Daniel get his singing talent.

Cinema One Puts Kathryn and Daniel in the Spotlight this January

Starting things off with today’s hottest teen love team, Cinema One gives a special treat to its viewers with a month-long feature on Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s hit movie “Must Be Love”.

Produced by Star Cinema and directed by Dado Lumibao, “Must Be Love” is the first solo film of the teen tandem where they were cast in a leading role, following their appearances as part of star-studded casts in “24/7 in Love” and “Sisterakas”. It was shot in different locations around the Philippines, including Cebu and Laguna—and was even taken abroad to Berlin, Germany.

The film tells the story of two childhood friends, Patricia (Kathryn Bernardo) and Ivan (Daniel Padilla). Growing up together and discovering the changes that come with age, different possibilities open up for the two.

As they get older, Patricia begins to realize that she has feelings for her best friend, but begins to question if he feels the same way. Things get even more complicated when her cousin Angel (Liza Soberano) comes into the picture—and Ivan starts to show interest in a different girl instead.

With the two teen actors in the leading roles, “Must Be Love” served as a benchmark for the two. It even served as a platform for Daniel Padilla’s hit song “Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat,” which was the film’s theme song, to skyrocket to the top of the music hit charts.

In a review from pep.ph, the film was labeled as “a welcome alternative to the slew of teen movies and romantic flicks,” setting it apart from what the Filipino audience had grown accustomed to. Writer Jennifer Dugena of the website said, “It is also a perfect teen movie recommended not just for KathNiel fans but also for adults… ‘Must Be Love’ is a rare film that is cute and light as much as it is serious and heavy.”

Got to Believe Chapter 2 Trailer: Joaquin Has Amnesia; Chichay is Heartbroken

ABS-CBN's Got to Believe is getting more and more exciting as the show enters its second chapter. This time, Joaquin (Daniel Padilla) and Chichay (Kathryn Bernardo) will find their way in another country. However, a new twist will have them fall apart after Joaquin's surgery to remove the stray bullet in his head.

Chichay, who was also in Singapore saw Joaquin in a park, looking his best with an orchid bouquet in his hand. Chichay called out to him. However, Joaquin seemed to not remember Chichay anymore. What's more heartbreaking is that Joaquin has a newfound love (Liza Soberano).

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla 'Holding Hands While Sleeping' Photo, Scripted

Teen King Daniel Padilla clarified the rumors that he and Got to Believe co-star Kathryn Bernardo are already a couple after a picture of them holding hands while sleeping was uploaded on Instagram.

The said photo has since became viral after being posted by Got to Believe director Cathy Garcia-Molina in her Instagram account. Captioned "Wawa naman mga bago kong anak... bagsak," the said photo made the fans excited more specially that Daniel recently confirmed that he and Kathryn were exclusively dating.

However, Daniel Padilla revealed that the said photo, which was supposedly taken after a taping for the said Kapamilya series, was scripted.

"Kinuha ni direk Cathy 'yun. Sinadya 'yun," Daniel said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Daniel and Kathryn remained to be the hottest teen stars of today with their show being one of the most-watched programs nationwide. There's no doubt that the two have already gained a strong following, considering the successes of their projects, including their recent movie Pagpag which is an entry to the 2013 MMFF.

Daniel and Kathryn are currently in Singapore for the taping of Got to Believe, which has been extended. Fans can expect a lot more twists in the top-rating show.

Daniel and Robin Padilla in 'Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at Mga Anak' (Kuratong Baleleng) Trailer

Star Cinema has released online the trailer of upcoming movie Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at mga Anak (Kuratong Baleleng) which will co-star Robin Padilla with nephew Daniel Padilla.

Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina, at mga Anak is produced by RCP Productions (with Star Cinema) and also stars members of the Padilla clan including Bela, Kylie, Matt, RJ and Robin's wife, Mariel Rodriguez. Inspired by the organized crime syndicate Kuratong Baleleng, the film is shortlisted for the 2013 MMFF but failed to make the final cut.

Directed by Jon Villarin, Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina, at mga Anak is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on January 29. Watch the trailer below.

The 2013 Anak TV Makabata Star Awardees have been named and Kapamilya stars dominated the list with 14 out of the 20 personalities in this year's list. The awardees will be honored on December 12 at the annual Anak TV Awards.

An advocacy of the Anak TV Inc, this years list stemmed from a national survey of the most favored, most child-sensitive TV personalities. Elevated to the Hall of Fame this year are Sarah Geronimo, Jessica Soho and Bernadette Sembrano.

ABS-CBN's Sunday musical variety show ASAP 2012 has announce the winners of the 6th ASAP Pop Viewers' Choice (2012) on its December 8 episode. The annual POP Viewers' Choice Awards recognized viewers' most favorite on different categories covering music, movies, print and television.

Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz were big winners in the Pop Movie category clinching 3 awards for It Takes A Man and A Woman. Vice Ganda dominated the Pop Astig category with 2 awards. Meanwhile, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla ruled the Pop Kapamilya TV category with their latest hit, Got to Believe. Daniel and Sarah also reigned in the Pop Music category.
