Xyriel Manabat Leads The Race in Yahoo OMG! Awards 2012

Kapamilya child wonder Xyriel Manabat continues to impress TV viewers and netizens as she leads the online voting in ‘Yahoo! OMG! Awards 2012’ where she is nominated in the category, ‘Child Star of the Year.’ As of June 28 (Thursday), the Kapamilya child wonder garnered 56% or more than half of the online votes for the said category.

Meanwhile, Xyriel continues to reign in the hearts of TV viewers this Saturday (June 30) in the continuation of her “Wansapanataym” special. In the ‘Beauty is the Beast’ episode, Xyriel takes on the role of Beauty, a little girl who belittles everyone who doesn’t fit her beauty standards. As she continues to judge other people based on their physical appearances, fate punishes Beauty and made all her negative comments magically manifested on her. Will she finally learn that real beauty is not skin deep?

Together with Xyriel in the episode are Dominic Ochoa, Andrea del Rosario, Marikit Morales, Dexie Daulat, Beverly Salviejo, and Arlene Tolibas. It is written by Joel Mercado and directed by Tots Sanchez-Mariscal.

“Wansapanataym” is a part of ABS-CBN’s “Bida Best Kid” campaign launched recently that aims to empower children by encouraging them to become who they want to be and the best that they can be. It doesn’t only entertain and educate its young viewers with its values-oriented, child-friendly programs, but supports their dreams and aspirations as well.

Kathryn Bernardo Thankful for the Success of Princess and I

Kathryn Bernardo is thankful for the unrelenting warm support of TV viewers for ABS-CBN’s ‘royal drama,’ “Princess and I.”

“I am grateful that we have consistent high TV ratings and now it’s even getting higher. So I really hope that the viewers continue to follow the adventures of Mikay every night because we are all doing our best to make it much better,” shared Kathryn.

Based on the latest data of Kantar Media, the trending and top-rating drama series topbilled by the ‘primetime princess’ Kathryn together with its powerhouse cast Albert Martinez, Gretchen Barretto, Precious Lara Quigaman, Dominic Ochoa, Enrique Gil, Daniel Padilla, and Khalil Ramos gained a national TV rating of 31.7%, or almost 15 points higher than the 16.8% national TV rating garnered by its rival program in GMA, “Biritera.”

Kathryn dedicated the success of their show to its first-of-its-kind story and the commitment of their team. She said, “Aside from the fact that our story is very light with a touch of drama which Pinoys love; one of ‘Princess and I’s big success factors is the great working relationship of the team especially with our directors, Dado Lumibao and Francis Pasion, because they closely monitor our characters, ensuring we execute it right.”

With Kathryn’s show shining in the Primetime Bida block of ABS-CBN, viewers cannot help but compare her with ‘Mara Clara’ co-lead star Julia Montes, who is currently one of the lead stars of another Kapamilya top-rating primetime teleserye, “Walang Hanggan.”

“Julia is really like a sister to me, so there was never a time that competition became an issue to us,” said Kathryn. “I’m super proud of her because I know very well that their show is doing great too in the ratings. Actually, I’m a fan of ‘Walang Hanggan.”

Meanwhile, along with her hardships to get her father (Dominic)out of prison, Mikay’s (Kathryn) heart will be put to test too with the coming of three ‘princes’ in her life. Who will win Mikay’s love–his bestfriend Kiko (Khalil) who just confessed his love for her; Jao (Enrique) who visits the Philippines to look for himself and for the girl who took his heart; or ‘bad boy’ Gino (Daniel) who irritates Mikay at every encounter?

'Princess and I' is Consistent Top-Rater, Dasho Jao Goes to Philippines

ABS-CBN’s royal drama “Princess and I” instantly won the hearts of viewers nationwide as it made it on the third spot of the overall top TV programs in the country based on data from the global industry-trusted multinational audience research group Kantar Media.

The trending and top-rating drama series topbilled by the ‘primetime princess’ Kathryn Bernardo together with its powerhouse cast Albert Martinez, Gretchen Barretto, Precious Lara Quigaman, Dominic Ochoa, Enrique Gil, Daniel Padilla, and Khalil Ramos gained an average national TV rating of 28.8% after debuting last April 16.

With its breathtaking sceneries especially shot in Bhutan, moving musical score, grand costumes, and its top-caliber cast, “Princess and I” quickly rose to the national TV ratings list and even trended worldwide frequently in the popular microblogging site, Twitter. In fact, recently, six out the 10 top trending topics were about the characters and latest revelations in the drama series–#AngDealNiGinoatMikay #HoldingHands #Tippy #Mikay #Gino and #DanielPadilla.

Meanwhile, the adventure of Mikay (Kathryn) continues as she closed a deal with ‘bad boy’ Gino (Daniel) and played as his special date in exchange of money which she will use to get his father (Dominic) out of prison.
