Paulo Avelino Reveals All in Showbiz Inside Report this January 5

After his breakthrough performance as Nathan in the 2012’s phenomenal drama series “Walang Hanggan,” Kapamilya heartthrob Paulo Avelino will be one of the male leads in the upcoming romantic-comedy series of ABS-CBN “Kahit Konting Pagtingin” where he is co-starred with Angeline Quinto and Sam Milby.

As a New Year treat to his loyal supporters, Paulo will take the spotlight this Saturday (January 5) as he grants ABS-CBN’s trending showbiz talk show “Showbiz Inside Report” with an exclusive tell-all interview that opened up his heart and made him share everything that he has in mind. 

What were Paulo’s dreams when he was growing up? When did he realize that he is already a famous primetime TV star? How did his transfer to ABS-CBN change his life and career?

Kahit Konting Pagtingin Music Video - Angeline Quinto and Sam Milby Kiss

The music video of Kahit Konting Pagtingin by Angeline Quinto, the theme song of ABS-CBN's newest teleserye of the same title topbilled by Angeline Quinto, Sam Milby and Paulo Avelino premiered December 29 on MMK. 

Kahit Konting Pagtingin music video was made videoke style, with lyrics of the song flashing on screen while the stars are acting in the background. The video features Angeline Quinto and her fantasies towards two hot men she met at Quezon City Circle—Sam Milby and Paulo Avelino.

The kilig 'dating scenes' were made much more appealing with an unexpected kiss of Sam and Angeline. Paulo Avelino and Angge have also their act-of-kissing moment but it was not revealed whether they kiss or not.

Angeline Quinto is Aurora 'The Kundoktora' in Kahit Konting Pagtingin, Charms Sam Milby and Paulo Avelino

Angeline Quinto will star in her very first teleserye titled Kahit Konting Pagtingin with Sam Milby and Paulo Avelino. The said series will be Angeline's second major acting project after Born To Love You, her launching movie opposite Coco Martin.

Angeline's stars must be well-aligned as she has been getting good projects after she won Star Power, a reality-singing competition hosted by Mega Star Sharon Cuneta. A naturally-born singer, Angeline's acting prowess was once exhibited in her MMK "Bagobo" episode where she starred with Kapamilya heartthrobs Alex Castro and award-winning actor Jason Abalos.

In her teleserye Kahit Konting Pagtingin, Angeline will be playing the role of Aurora, a simple girl who works as a bus conductor, someone who accompanies a driver and collect commuters' fare. In a teaser trailer released online, Paulo Avelino and Sam Milby detail the characteristics they want in a woman which are obviously the exact opposite of Angeline's character. At the end of the teaser, Angge said she hopes the two men can be drawn to "someone like me."

Aside from Angeline, Sam and Paulo, Kahit Konting Pagtingin will also star John Lapus, Tommy Abuel, Aljhon Lucas, Alexandra Macanan, Junee Gamboa, James Blanco and Mylene Dizon. 

Directed by Darnel Villaflor, Kahit Konting Pagtingin premieres January 2013 on ABS-CBN.

Angeline Quinto's First Teleserye 'Kahit Konting Pagtingin' Premieres January 2013 (Teaser)

From being the singer of the country’s well-loved soap operas, Angeline Quinto will finally star in her first-ever teleserye titled “Kahit Konting Pagtingin,” a romantic-comedy series where she will be paired with Kapamilya heartthrobs Sam Milby and Paulo Avelino.

Also featured in “Kahit Konting Pagtingin,” which will premiere on January 2013, is the highly anticipated return to the Kapamilya network of comedian-host John Lapus. 

Angeline’s first teleserye is directed by Darnel Villaflor. Watch out for the beginning of a heartwarming tale that will bring smiles and love to TV viewers everyday, “Kahit Konting Pagtingin” this January 2013 on ABS-CBN.

John Lapus is Back as Kapamilya; Coco Martin's Sta. Niña Wins at Kerala Film Festival

Award-winning actor/comedian John "Sweet" Lapus is back to the Kapamilya network after six years with GMA-7. Sweet's last project with the Kapuso network was the primetime series Makapiling Kang Muli topbilled by Richard Gutierrez and Carla Abellana.

As a returning Kapamilya, John Lapus will be part of the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye Kahit Konting Pagtingin  which will be topbilled by Sam Milby, Paulo Avelino and Angeline Quinto.

Cinemalaya movie Sta. Niña, starring Coco Martin won the The Golden Crow Pheasant Award at the 17th edition of International Film Festival of Kerala, beating 13 other films. The award known as the Suvarna Chakoram comes with a cash prize of 15 lakhs (approximately $30,000 US dollars). The awarding ceremony was held on December 14 in India.

The Filipino gothic melodrama, directed by Manny Palo, also stars Alessandra De Rossi, Angel Aquino and Ms. Anita Linda. It was distributed by Star Cinema.

Sam Milby, Angeline Quinto and Paulo Avelino Topbill 'Kahit Konting Pagtingin'

Star Power grand champion Angeline Quinto will soon be launched as a teleserye actress with Kahit Konting Pagtingin where she will be paired with Sam Milby and Paulo Avelino.

Just recently, the main cast of Kahit Konting Pagtingin had their story conference and pictorial for the upcoming ABS-CBN project. Aside from Paulo, Sam and Angeline, Kahit Konting Pagtingin will also star Bangs Garcia, Mylene Dizon and John "Sweet" Lapus who is returning to the Kapamilya network. Also present in the story conference are Joonee Gamboa, Jordan Herrera and two new teen stars.

Based on the cast and the photo outtakes, the series will be a romantic comedy of sorts but online fora also do not exclude the possibility that it will have an element of music as the main leads are also recording artists.

Although Sam will be part of the series, his teleserye with Judy Ann Santos titled Against All Odds is still a go, which according to reports will be served second quarter of 2013.

It seems like ABS-CBN is grooming Angeline Quinto as the next multimedia star. Well, are you excited to see Angeline in her very first teleserye opposite Sam Milby and Paulo Avelino?

Paulo Avelino 'Your Love' Lyrics and Music Video

Universal Records has released the music video of Paulo Avelino's second single Your Love from his self-titled debut album. The album, with the carrier single When She Cries was released last October and contains six tracks.

Your Love was originally done by Pinoy rock band Alamid and won Song of the Year at the NU107 Rock Awards way back in 1995.

Shake Rattle and Roll 14 Teaser Trailer Released

Regal Entertainment has released the official trailer of Shake Rattle and Roll 14 (The Invasion). The 14th installment of the original Pinoy horror film series is an official entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival.

Shake Rattle and Roll XIV also contains three different episodes namely Unwanted, The Lost Command and Pamana. All the three episodes were directed by Chito S. Roño.

Unwanted features the first on-screen team up of Vhong Navarro and Lovi Poe plus Albie Casiño, Eula Caballero, Carlo Aquino and Eric Tai while The Lost Command stars Paulo Avelino, Ella Cruz, Mart Escudero, Dennis Trillo, AJ Dee, JC Tiuseco, Alex Castro and Makisig Morales.

The third episode Pamana stars two SRR veteran, Janice de Belen and Mayor Herbert Bautista with Empress, Ivan Dorschner, Dennis Padilla and Arlene Muhlach.

Walang Hanggan Finale Creates a New Record, Beats Mara Clara's 43.4%

ABS-CBN’s phenomenal TV drama “Walang Hanggan,” topbilled by Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Susan Roces, Helen Gamboa, Melissa Ricks, Joem Bascon, Paulo Avelino, Julia Montes, and Coco Martin, recently ended on a high note as its finale soared high in the ratings game and dominated the worldwide trending topics on Twitter.

Based on the latest data of Kantar Media last Friday (October 26), ABS-CBN’s top-rating drama series garnered 45.4% national TV ratings, or more than 29 points ahead versus the farewell episode of its rival program in GMA “Luna Blanca” which only got 16.1%.

“Walang Hanggan” also beat the record-breaking finale episode of Mara Clara in June 2011 which got a TV rating of 43.4% nationwide, the highest finale rating ever attained of a teleserye in the new decade before “Walang Hanggan.”

Aside from winning the ratings game, “Walang Hanggan” also conquered the popular microblogging site Twitter as hashtags #WalangHangganFinale, Katerina, Paulo Avelino, and RIP Daniel became worldwide trending topics due to the numerous tweets of TV viewers about the touching scenes of Daniel (Coco) and Katerina’s (Julia) deaths. The Twitter timeline was flooded with positive tweets like: “@LoveAprille: Congrats to the cast and crew for the #WalangHangganFinale! We stayed up in Sydney just to watch it! You all did an amazing job;” “@JelaiSalomeo: It was my first time to witness a happily ever after. It wasn’t good. It was brilliant! #WalangHangganFinale;” and “@axlguillermo: Sobrang ganda talaga ng ending ng #WalangHangganFinale. Talagang pinaghandaan nila. Congratulations sa lahat ng cast at crew. Mahusay!”

Completing the powerhouse cast of “Walang Hanggan” are top-caliber actors including Nonie Buencamino, Ogie Diaz, Arlene Muhlach, Eda Nolan, John Medina, Shamaine Buencamino, Josh Ivan Morales, Valerie Concepcion, Dante Rivero, Richard Yap, and Eula Valdes. It was under the direction of Jerry Lopez Sineneng and Trina Dayrit.

The timeslot left by “Walang Hanggan” was taken oven by “Ina Kapatid Anak,” which now airs after “Princess and I.”

Video: Vice Ganda and Jhong Hilario Performance on It's Showtime 3rd Anniversary (Oct 25)

Vice Ganda and Jhong Hilario made a spoof of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo's teleserye A Beautiful Affair with A Not So Beautiful Affair on their It's Showtime 3rd anniversary performance Thursday, October 25.

Aside from that opening video, Vice and Jhong also parodied one of the judges' movie, Maricel Soriano's Soltera. A shirtless Paulo Avelino, Kedebon Colim and comedian Negi also had special participations in the performance.

While the rest of the country experienced black out and typhoon Ofel, Vice and Jhong's It's Showtime 3rd anniversary performance let us experienced a total variety show with singing, drama, comedy and a bit of fantasy and magic.

Just when everyone thought it would not happen anymore, the eternal love team of Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta finally kissed in ABS-CBN’s top-rating drama series “Walang Hanggan” as they treated TV viewers with back-to-back-to-back romantic surprises, from the wedding to the honey moon where they had several kissing scenes.

According to the data of Kantar Media last Thursday (September 27), the said episode of “Walang Hanggan” garnered 36.5% national TV rating, compared to its rival program in GMA “Luna Blanca” which only got 15%.

Because of Marco (Richard) and Emily’s (Dawn) wedding, kissing and bed scenes, various emotional reactions from the TV viewers flooded the popular microblogging site Twitter, which immediately made the hashtag #DawnAndRichardWeddingThePhenomenalKiss a nationwide trending topic.

Video: Walang Hanggan Stars for OMB's "Bawal Kumopya" Campaign

Philippine Optical Media Board (OMB) recently partnered with ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC) for an awareness campaign on anti-piracy.  

Aligning with OMB Chairman Ronnie Ricketts’ battlecry of “Bawal Kumopya” (literally translated as “Copying is prohibited”), TFC tapped the cast of its top-rating primetime teleserye, “Walang Hanggan”, who willingly gave their time and effort to the production of the “Bawal Kumopya” public service announcement.

Coco Martin, Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Julia Montes, Paulo Avelino and Joem Bascon all joined hands (and crossed their arms) in a united front for the war against piracy.

The “Bawal Kumopya” PSA was launched at the One Kapamilya Go sa California’s Great America held last September 16. The campaign has aired globally on TFC and will be rolled out in various TFC events around the world.

The Cosmopolitan Bachelor Bash 2012 happened September 18 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. With the theme "Cosmomen Unite," this year's Cosmo bachelors and centerfold hunks flaunted their gorgeous bodies on stage.

The highlight of the evening were the 10 Cosmo centerfold hunks which include Anthony and David Semerad (Semerad Twins), Alden Richards, Mikael Daez, Markki Stroem, John Spainhour, John James Uy,  Ian Batherson,  JM De Guzman, Joseph Marco and Paulo Avelino. The latter though was a no-show at the Cosmo Bachelor Bash.

Ian Batherson to Transfer to ABS-CBN, New Kapamilya Hunk

Starstruck alumnus Ian Batherson is said to be transferring to the Kapamilya network. The Cosmo bachelor (who is one of this year's centerfold hunks) has been talking lately about the big shift in his career, and that is moving from GMA-7 to rival ABS-CBN.

Following one meaningful tweet late August, Ian said that he made a few "tactical adjustments" in his career after waiting for so long. Ian Batherson's only notable project in GMA-7 after Starstruck V was the afternoon soap Sisid following a stint in another reality show,  Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown. Ian has been visible though in several TV commercials like Close Up and Charmee with Sarah Geronimo.

"Got more things coming up in my career MALAKING changes. Makikita mo ko sa big screen soon. ;) work hard play hard ppl," expressed Ian in one of his tweets early September, implying that a new movie project is coming his way.

Ian Batherson also confirmed that he do have a meeting with ABS-CBN last September 8 and that he had a huge appointment in a TV station. 

Ian Batherson's transfer to ABS-CBN (although there's no official confirmation yet) will be the nth time that  a product of GMA-7's artista search Starstruck decided to switch networks. If the deal pushes through, Ian will be following Johan Santos, his batch mate Piero Vergara, the late Tyron Perez, Paul Salas (Starstruck Kids), Jewel Mische, Megan Young, Cristine Reyes and Paulo Avelino as Starstruck alumni who transferred to ABS-CBN.

We can't blame Ian, if he chose to leave his mother studio for greener pastures. Just look at Megan, Jewel, Cristine and Paulo and how their respective careers flourished with ABS-CBN. With this move, we might see Ian bigger than his batch mates Enzo Pineda, Rocco Nacino, and winners Sarah Lahbati and Steven Silva.

Coco Martin Competing with Paulo Avelino?

Multi-awarded actor Coco Martin clarified that he and his “Walang Hanggan” co-star Paulo Avelino are good friends behind the camera, despite their heated rivalry in the top-rating primetime TV drama series.

“There is no competition between me and Paulo,” Coco said. “Both of us are very happy that we are able to portray our roles well and that TV viewers continue to follow our story.”

In fact, Coco also shared that he and Paulo always help one another in the set of “Walang Hanggan.” He shared, “During tapings, Paulo and I always give advices to each other on how we can execute our scenes better.”

Meanwhile, unlike the good working relationship between Coco and Paulo, tension continues to rise between their characters in “Walang Hanggan,” especially now that Nathan (Paulo) is ready to fulfill his agreement with Katerina (Julia Montes). Just recently, Cosmopolitan Philippines released their latest issue with Solenn Heussaff on the cover supplemented with this year's CosmoMen issue featuring a hot and shirtless Paulo Avelino on the cover. The said issue also features the 69 Cosmo bachelors and the 10 centerfold hunks.

Some notable personalities on this year's Cosmo 69 hottest bachelors list are JM De Guzman, Markki Stroem, Anthony and David Semerad (Semerad Twins), PBB's Carlo Romero, Robi Domingo, Edward Mendez, Alden Richards, Century Tuna Superbods winner John Spainhour,  John James Uy, Mikael Daez, Luke Landrigan, Marvin Kiefer, Ian Batherson, Baron Geisler, Jose Sarasola, Edgar Allan Guzman and Cosmomen cover, Paulo Avelino.

All 69 bachelors will grace the 2012 Cosmo Bachelor Bash happening on September 18, 2012 at the World Trade Center.
