PGT Judges Deliberate on Top 36 Finalists this March 24

Posted on March 23, 2013 | 1:12 PM

Big Three judges Kris Aquino, Ai Ai Delas Alas, and Freddie “FMG” Garcia deliberate on the acts that made it through the audition round and trim them down to only 36 that will enter the quarter finals in the much-awaited and tension-filled “Judges Cull” round this Sunday (Mar 24) in ABS-CBN’s hit talent-reality show “Pilipinas Got Talent.”
PGT Top 36 judges deliberation

Out of more than 29,000 hopefuls, including those who joined the global and online auditions, 104 acts got the coveted judges’ yes votes. From this roster, the Big Three must then pick only the top 36 acts that will make it through the quarter finals. Whose dreams will end this week? Will the judges unanimously pick the 36 quarterfinalists or will tension rise once more in the Judges Cull room?

But before that, some acts are still hoping to make the cut in the last round of auditions this season. One of which is the synchronized swimming act that will be seen for the first time on Philippine TV. In order for the judges and viewers to better appreciate the act, PGT constructed a special and aquarium-like pool so as to see every move the synchronized swimmers will do underwater.

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 Goes Global, Premieres February 16

Posted on February 13, 2013 | 3:45 PM

Pilipinas Got Talent, the country’s most successful talent-reality show, goes around the world in search for the best of the best global Filipino talents when it returns on Philippine television for its biggest and best season yet beginning this Saturday (Feb 16).

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 Goes Global, Premieres February 16

Talented global Filipinos from USA, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Middle East, Europe, Canada, Australia, and Guam got the chance to show what they got via PGT’s global auditions. The best acts from each territory flew in the country to face the Big Three Judges— Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, Comedy Queen Ai Ai Delas Alas, and ‘The Expert’ Freddie “FMG” Garcia. Other hopefuls were also able to audition right at their very homes by via PGT’s online auditions in partnership with Cge.tv.

“We know that Filipinos still have a lot to show especially when it comes to the talent department. That is why the PGT team decided to mount global and online auditions to give hopefuls a chance. We made this season the biggest season yet so if we really want to make it the biggest, we must also find the best talents in every possible way we can,” explained Business Unit Head, Joyce Liquicia.

From across the nation and across the globe, Filipinos are even more daring this season in showing what they can do after prior seasons of PGT raised the bars of talent.  Aside from the popular acts of singing or dancing, auditionees became more innovative and creative in performing acts that have not been done on previous seasons.

“If you think Filipinos are talented with the first three seasons of PGT, wait until you watch season four because we were able to discover even more talents. From an act that fused gymnastics and wall climbing to an act that would extinguish candlelight by using the auditionee’s own fart,” executive producer, Richelle Bernal shared.

Adding up to the excitement is a whole new viewing experience as the show takes a different approach in introducing each act, tell the stories behind every auditionee, and even doing the opening number with hosts, Luis Manzano and Billy Crawford.

PGT hopefuls will face the Big Three judges in the audition stage and impress them with their acts. Once they make the cut they will automatically be shortlisted among the contestants to be included in the Judges Cull, where the judges will determine 36 acts that will advance to the Quarter Finals.

For six weeks, six acts will be pitted against one another in a talent showdown, where only two will make it through— one chosen via viewers’ text votes and one by the judges— to complete the roster of semi-finalists.

The 12 semi-finalists will again battle it out in the Semi-Final round until only six of them make the last and final cut of the competition to formally enter the Final round. Who will be the fourth grand winner of “Pilipinas Got Talent”?

Don’t miss “Pilipinas Got Talent 4” every Saturday, beginning Feb 16, after “MMK,” and every Sunday, after “Rated K” on ABS-CBN.

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 Airs in 2013, Online Auditions Extended Until December 30

Posted on October 23, 2012 | 3:01 PM

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 will be aired first quarter of 2013 according to online reports. The said ABS-CBN reality-talent show is supposed to air after The X Factor Philippines finals in October but was moved to November later on.

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 Online Auditions extended until December 30, 2012

However, latest developments confirmed that PGT 4 will be aired first quarter of 2013. According to reports, two of its judges, Ai Ai Delas Alas and Kris Aquino will be busy shooting for their MMFF 2012 entry Sisteraka to be shown on December, the reason PGT Season 4's airing was delayed until next year.

The show had already shot for one Judges' Audition episode in Cebu wherein the contestants have to perform in front of the three judges: Kris Aquino, Ai Ai Delas Alas and Freddie 'FMG' Garcia.

This is a good news for talented Pinoys as the online auditions was also extended until December 30, 2012, 11:59 PM. There is no age limit on who can audition online. Just register at  http://www.cge.tv and upload your audition video under the "Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4" category (www.cge.tv/PGT4). Take note that videos should be clear (without cuts or edits) and must not exceed two minutes.

A Pilipinas Got Talent staff will contact you via your registered email address used here in http://www.cge.tv if you qualified.

Ai Ai Delas Alas and FMG Return on Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4

Posted on August 29, 2012 | 7:40 PM

Comedy Queen Ai Ai Delas Alas will be back as a judge in Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4. Ai Ai will again be joining Kris Aquino and ABS-CBN former president Freddie 'FMG' Garcia in the judges' seat of PGT which will premiere soon.

Before this, there are rumors that Ai Ai and Freddie 'FMG' Garcia will not return in the next season of the said talent show. Kris Aquino was earlier reported to be back as judge for PGT Season 4.

Ai Ai Delas Alas and Freddie 'FMG' Garcia Return on PGT Season 4 as judges

“Alam naman natin na mahal na mahal ko ang show na ito. Excited na ako at nandiyan na siya ulit, Season 4 na. Lahat naman tayo inaabangan natin ang mga nagpi-PGT lalong lalo na 'yung mga contestants natin kasi doon nakikita natin kung gaano kadami ang talents ng Pinoy,” Ai Ai told ABS-CBN News.

The return of Pilipinas Got Talent for its 4th season will be welcomed by several changes. One of these changes is regarding auditions. Aside from the regular on-site auditions, Pinoys can now video their performance and upload it www.cge.tv/PGT4. Filipinos abroad can also join via TFCkat. There will also be roving teams to spot talented Filipinos around the country.

Since the winners of the past 3 seasons of Pilipinas Got Talent were all singing acts, the show now encourages other talents aside from the usual talent that we Filipinos are known of. Somehow, PGT will give least priority to singers, as there are other shows for them like The X Factor Philippines.

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 will be hosted by Luis Manzano and Billy Crawford and is slated to air this October 2012 after the season finale of The X Factor Philippines.

"YES. Naka-block off na Cebu and Davao auditions this Sept.," Kris tweeted on Thursday, hinting that auditions in front of the judges will start by September.

Singers Least Priority in Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 4

Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) is looking for new and unique acts other than singing for its upcoming 4th season. Auditions, which are now ongoing, will have to give least priority to vocal acts such as singing to give chance to other talents Filipinos are also good at.

For the past three seasons, we saw singers conquering PGT and eventually emerging as the winners. Grand champions Jovit Baldivino from season 1, Marcelito Pomoy from season 2 and Maasinhon Trio from season 3 were all vocal acts and the said reality show have had enough of them prompting the management to have a change of priorities for the upcoming season 4.

There are reports that FremantleMedia, the show's distributor became worried of singers' winning streak on PGT that they reminded the Philippine franchise producer to encourage other acts so that they have greater chance of winning the talent show.

Even the hosts of PGT 4, Luis Manzano and Billy Crawford would like to see other acts dominating the competition, citing The X Factor Philippines as a right venue to showcase Pinoy's singing prowess.

"Napakagaling ng mga Pinoy sa pagkanta, hindi na pwede kwestyunin iyan ng buong mundo. [Pero] oras na para bigyan ang tsansa ng iba," Luis told ABS-CBN News on Friday.

"We want it to be different. We're very happy na 'yung singers at this point, ay mayroong sariling show, 'yung 'X-Factor,' so sana, we want this to be really different. We want variety, we want talent," he added.

Billy also agreed with co-host Luis and said that Pinoys have unique talents other than singing, acting or dancing.

"We want talent. Kahit anong gusto mong gawin ay open ang 'PGT.' Dahil ipagmamalaki natin na hindi lang sa kantahan, sa sayawan, sa aktingan ang kaya natin. Meron naman talagang kakaibang talento ang Pinoy," shared Billy.

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 is expected to air this coming October.
