Claudine Barretto Tries Reaching Out to Star Magic Says Head

Is actress Claudine Barretto trying to make amends with ABS-CBN?

According to Star Magic head Mariole Alberto, Caludine Barretto tried to reach out when she called Star Magic chairman emeritus Johnny Manahan on his birthday last February 11, but Manahan refused to speak to her. "Better things to do," Manahan said.

"They know how they were treated, e. And makikita nila kung ano 'yong iniiwan nila. And I've seen so many people naman who tried to come back. Si Claudine na nga lang....," Alberto said in an interview published in the July 2012 issue of YES Magazine, which looked back at 20 years of ABS-CBN's talent management arm.

When asked if Claudine had tried to return to ABS-CBN, Alberto "waved the question away," the magazine said. "The point is, it's better that you let them go and they choose to stay," Alberto said.

In the interview, Alberto admitted that the rift between Star Magic chairman emeritus Johnny Manahan and Barretto "has never been fully healed."

The rift started  in 2010 a year after Caludine Barretto left ABS-CBN to move to GMA-7.

Claudine at the time accused Angelica Panganiban of spreading rumors that she was having an affair. Claudine Barretto threatened to sue Angelica Panganiban but Mr. M told Angelica to keep her silence and did all the speaking for her.

Actor Piolo Pascual, a prized talent of Star Magic, told YES Magazine that he also felt sad when Caludine decided to leave ABS-CBN.

"That was bittersweet because, you know, Claudine was our first and... It's hard. It's really hard for us because  Mr. M and Tita Mariole naman would give it their all. So, siyempre, ako -- I didn't want any one to leave. But if they felt na they could grow elsewhere, you've got to let them go," said Piolo, who was Claudine's leading man in the hit 2004 film "Milan" and the television series "Walang Kapalit" in 2007.

Star Magic 20th Anniversary Music Video

ABS-CBN Star Magic has just released a music video in celebration of their 20th anniversary. The music video features Star Magic talents in various shoot outtakes and behind-the-scenes footage.

The music video song titled Ikaw Ang Magic ng Buhay Ko is composed and sung by Yeng Constantino and arranged by Marvin Querido. The video is edited by Lorenz Roi Morales.

Biggest Star Magic Movie to shoot in Vietnam

ABS-CBN Star Magic is now ready for the shoot of their upcoming movie that will feature their brightest stable of stars. Last March 25, a story conference was held for the movie which was attended by some of Star Magic's best. 

John Lloyd Cruz, Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo, Bea Alonzo, Angelica Panganiban, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Maja Salvador, Jake Cuenca and Pokwang were only some of the Star Magic artists which will be part of the movie. Other Star Magic talents are also expected to appear in this one big project.

Last night, April 2, Angelica Panganiban, John Lloyd Cruz and Jayson Gainza flew to Vietnam for the shoot of this forthcoming Star Magic anniversary movie.

The story and director of the movie is yet to be revealed but according to John Lloyd Cruz, the movie will arch on the craziest things one can do for love.

All stars and a movie? That would be interesting and what's more exciting is the thought of a single story that will accommodate all these big stars so that all will shine.

Star Magic Movie to Feature Its Biggest Stars

In line with Star Magic's 20th anniversary, ABS-CBN's talent arm is planning to do an all-star movie which will feature its brightest stable of stars. 

The story conference was held yesterday, March 25, and was attended by John Lloyd Cruz, Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo, Bea Alonzo, Angelica Panganiban, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Maja Salvador, Jake Cuenca and Pokwang. Also present were the bosses, Johnny Manahan and Mariole Alberto.

The story and director of the movie is yet to be revealed but according to John Lloyd Cruz, the movie will arch on the craziest things one can do for love.

This grand collaboration of stars will be one of the most awaited movies this year. Let's hope all these stars are playing lead roles and not just cameos in the movie. Maybe Star Magic can come up with a movie just like Jologs with several characters yet a unifying story.
