Posted on September 8, 2013 | 10:46 AM

The quest for the first ever “The Voice of the Philippines” continues as the top-rating and Twitter-trending singing-reality shows stages another round of Live Shows for the members of each team this Sunday (Sept 8). UPDATE: The Voice of the Philippines Live Shows (September 8) Results

The Voice of the Philippines Top 16 (first batch). Who snatch the first four slots in the Top 8?

Two artists from the respective teams of Apl de Ap, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, at Lea Salonga will face off in the Live Shows this weekend. This time, the viewing public and the coaches have an equal say, with the combined percentages of the public votes and the coaches’ scores determining who among them will remain in the competition.

Fighting for their spot in Team Apl are Thor Dulay (Lately) and Penelope Matanguihan (Superstar), while Maki Ricafort (Every Breath You Take) and Morissette Amon (What About Love) will battle for Team Sarah. Representing Team Bamboo are Lee Grane (Losing My Religion) and Paolo Onesa (Skyfall), and for Team Lea, Darryl Shy (Balita) and Mitoy (Paano).

Which among them deserve to get through to the next round of the competition, according to the viewing public and the coaches?

Below's our fearless forecast. Meanwhile, check out the official results here.
  • An even battleground for Thor Dulay and Penelope. The voting public will be the deciding factor as both can get high scores from the coaches. Who will continue? Thor. Who should continue? Penelope.
  • The choice of song can hurt Paolo Onesa in his quest to beat early favorite Lee Grane. However, the voting public can save him. Who will continue? Lee Grane. Who should continue? Paolo.
  • Darryl Shy and Mitoy Yonting were both saved by the public. Both have unique style and got the public's support. Who will continue? Mitoy. Who should continue? Mitoy.
  • The toughest battle of the night will be between Morissette Amon and Maki Ricafort. Both have the support of the Popsters. Who will continue? Morissette Amon. Who should continue. Morissette.
