Walang Hanggan Finale Creates a New Record, Beats Mara Clara's 43.4%

ABS-CBN’s phenomenal TV drama “Walang Hanggan,” topbilled by Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Susan Roces, Helen Gamboa, Melissa Ricks, Joem Bascon, Paulo Avelino, Julia Montes, and Coco Martin, recently ended on a high note as its finale soared high in the ratings game and dominated the worldwide trending topics on Twitter.

Based on the latest data of Kantar Media last Friday (October 26), ABS-CBN’s top-rating drama series garnered 45.4% national TV ratings, or more than 29 points ahead versus the farewell episode of its rival program in GMA “Luna Blanca” which only got 16.1%.

“Walang Hanggan” also beat the record-breaking finale episode of Mara Clara in June 2011 which got a TV rating of 43.4% nationwide, the highest finale rating ever attained of a teleserye in the new decade before “Walang Hanggan.”

Aside from winning the ratings game, “Walang Hanggan” also conquered the popular microblogging site Twitter as hashtags #WalangHangganFinale, Katerina, Paulo Avelino, and RIP Daniel became worldwide trending topics due to the numerous tweets of TV viewers about the touching scenes of Daniel (Coco) and Katerina’s (Julia) deaths. The Twitter timeline was flooded with positive tweets like: “@LoveAprille: Congrats to the cast and crew for the #WalangHangganFinale! We stayed up in Sydney just to watch it! You all did an amazing job;” “@JelaiSalomeo: It was my first time to witness a happily ever after. It wasn’t good. It was brilliant! #WalangHangganFinale;” and “@axlguillermo: Sobrang ganda talaga ng ending ng #WalangHangganFinale. Talagang pinaghandaan nila. Congratulations sa lahat ng cast at crew. Mahusay!”

Completing the powerhouse cast of “Walang Hanggan” are top-caliber actors including Nonie Buencamino, Ogie Diaz, Arlene Muhlach, Eda Nolan, John Medina, Shamaine Buencamino, Josh Ivan Morales, Valerie Concepcion, Dante Rivero, Richard Yap, and Eula Valdes. It was under the direction of Jerry Lopez Sineneng and Trina Dayrit.

The timeslot left by “Walang Hanggan” was taken oven by “Ina Kapatid Anak,” which now airs after “Princess and I.”

'Ina Kapatid Anak' Takes Over 'Walang Hanggan' Timeslot Starting October 29

Beginning on Monday (October 29), ABS-CBN’s top-rating family drama series “Ina Kapatid Anak” will air on an earlier timeslot after “Princess and I.” 


The teleserye topbilled by Kim Chiu, Maja Salvador, Xian Lim, Enchong Dee, Janice de Belen, Cherry Pie Picache, Ariel Rivera, Ronaldo Valdez, Pilar Pilapil and Eddie Gutierrez will take over the timeslot that was left by the phenomenal TV drama “Walang Hanggan,” which ended last Friday (October 26). 

How will Celyn’s (Kim) life change especially now that she is getting closer to the family of her biological parents Beatrice (Janice) and Julio (Ariel)?

Kantar Media (October 22) TV Ratings: Ina Kapatid Anak Continues to Shine

Kantar Media (October 22) TV Ratings: Ina Kapatid Anak Continues to ShineIna Kapatid Anak continues to charm viewers as it consistently landed in the top 5 programs nationwide with increasing rating day by day according to Kantar Media/TNS. The show is also Metro Manila's most-watched with 33% rating.

On Monday, October 22, the series topbilled by Kim Chiu, Maja Salvador, Enchong Dee and Xian Lim garnered 28.6% TV rating, 1 point higher than its Friday's 27.6%.

Meanwhile, Walang Hanggan's last 5 days is also most-watched topping the primetime race. On daytime, Be Careful With My Heart toppled the premiere of rival programs, Cielo de Angelina and One True Love: A Second Chance, nowhere to be found in the top 10 programs.

15 000 Fans Flock Araneta for Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat Concert

An estimated 15,000 screaming fans recently filled Smart Araneta Coliseum for the grand ‘Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat’ thanksgiving concert of ABS-CBN’s phenomenal TV drama “Walang Hanggan.”

Leading the celebration are the series’ lead stars namely Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Helen Gamboa, Susan Roces, Melissa Ricks, Joem Bascon, Paulo Avelino, Julia Montes, and Coco Martin. Completing the powerhouse cast are top-caliber actors who became a huge part of the ten-month phenomenal sucess of the show including Nonie Buencamino, Ogie Diaz, Arlene Muhlach, Eda Nolan, John Medina, Shamaine Buencamino, Josh Ivan Morales, Valerie Concepcion, Dante Rivero, Richard Yap, and Eula Valdes.


Aside from the romantic chemistry of the event’s hosts Dawn and Richard, the whole cast treated their fans with non-stop memorable production numbers featuring the special tell-all interviews of Melissa, Joem, and Paulo with the ultimate multimedia star Toni Gonzaga; Susan and Helen with the unkabogable TV host-actor Vice Ganda, which brought the crowd screaming when ‘Doña Margaret’ had a ‘Gangnam Style’ dance showdown with Vice; Dawn and Richard with the Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, where CharDawn fans successfully asked their idols for a kiss; and Coco and Julia with the Asia’s King of Talk Boy Abunda, where the two admitted that they will agree to marry each other if the world is about end.

Aside from the cast, also in the momentous event were world-class singers who sang the “Walang Hanggan” official theme songs including Gary Valenciano, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Jed Madela, Juris, Aiza Seguerra, Bryan Termulo, Bugoy Drilon, and Liezel Garcia. The well-loved soundtracks were played during the concert by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra led by Maestro Gerard Salonga.

Actress Dawn Zulueta agreed to get a kiss from Walang Hanggan leading man Richard Gomez as thousand of fans requested their idols for some "kilig" moments at the "Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat Concert" at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Sunday night, October 21.

Before taking the kiss from Richard, Dawn, who's now married to Davao del Norte Rep. Anton Lagdameo Jr. repeteadly said "Smack lang ito, smack lang ito." In previous interview, Dawn Zulueta said that  it was her decision not to do a kissing scene with Richard Gomez out of respect for her husband and the actor's wife, Ormoc Rep. Lucy Torres.  The  actress finally agreed to kiss Richard again for the wedding and honeymoon scenes of their characters Emily and Marco last September 27.

Kantar Media (October 13-15) TV Ratings: Erich and Nonito Knock-Out Competition

Kantar Media (October 13-15) TV Ratings: Erich and Nonito Knock-Out CompetitionMaalaala Mo Kaya starring Erich Gonzales and Diana Zubiri was the most-watched program nationwide last Saturday (October 13). The said MMK episode garnered 35.7% TV rating. On Sunday, the World Junior Featherweight Championship battle between Nonito Donaire and Toshiaki Nishioka to which the Filipino Flash emerged victorious topped the ratings game (watch video replay here).

Meanwhile, Daniel and Katerina's grand wedding in Walang Hanggan captured the whole nation, topping all primetime programs with a whooping 38.3% TV rating.

The most-awaited wedding of Daniel (Coco Martin) and Katerina (Julia Montes) in Walang Hanggan will finally air next week. The scene is expected to hit television starting Monday, October 15.

ABS-CBN reportedly spent P3.2 million (about half a million for the Cymbidum orchids adorning the aisle) for the grand union of Daniel and Katerina which is one of the highlights of the show's last 2 weeks. The scene was taped last October 8.

'Walang Hanggan' Concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum this October 21

After almost a year since it aired on Philippine TV, ABS-CBN’s top-rating drama series “Walang Hanggan” is all set to treat its loyal fans with a grand concert titled ‘Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat,’ which is slated to be staged on October 21 (Sunday) at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Leading the thanksgiving celebration are Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Helen Gamboa, Susan Roces, Melissa Ricks, Paulo Avelino, Julia Montes, and Coco Martin.

Aside from the show’s powerhouse cast, also joining the momentous event are special guests including Kris Aquino, Gary Valenciano, Vice Ganda, Boy Abunda, Toni Gonzaga, Richard Yap, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Jed Madela, Juris, Aiza Seguerra, Bryan Termulo, Bugoy Drilon, Liezel Garcia, and the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra to be conducted by Maestro Gerard Salonga.

For avid “Walang Hanggan” fans who wish to attend the ‘Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat,’ ABS-CBN is going to give away free tickets starting this Saturday (October 13) and Sunday (October 14) from 3pm to 5pm at the ABS-CBN Center Road. The delayed telecast of the special concert will be shown on the same day, October 21, after “Sarah G. Live!”

Meanwhile, for the nationwide thanksgiving of “Walang Hanggan,” the eternal love team of Dawn and Richard will head to Davao on October 20 (Saturday); as Coco, Julia, Paulo, Melissa and Joem Bascon attend the colorful Maskara Festival in Bacolod.

ABS-CBN Clinches 13 out of 15 Top Programs Nationwide in September

ABS-CBN dominated nationwide TV ratings for the month of September by virtue of its weeklong top-caliber primetime offerings that continue to gain significant increases as more and more viewers watch them on both weekday and weekend nights.

Out of the top 15 top running programs in September, ABS-CBN took 13 spots and secured the top 10 spots. Royal teleserye “Princess and I,” which Filipinos followed until Mikay (Kathyrn Bernardo) was finally revealed to be the long lost princess of Yangdon, is now the most watched program in the country with a national TV rating of 37.7%.

“Walang Hanggan” enjoyed a whopping 36.6% national TV rating, while weekend programs “Wansapanataym” and “Maalalala Mo Kaya” claimed the third and fourth spots in the top 15 most watched programs, both hitting a national TV rating of 33.8%.

“TV Patrol,” the only newscast to make it to September’s top 15 programs, also remained as the Philippine’s number one newscast with an average TV rating of 32.5% or nine points higher than GMA’s “24 Oras” (18.1%), while “Aryana” steadily climbed to 24.5% from last month’s 22.2%.

Other top Kapamilya programs include “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” (26.8%), “Rated K” (25.9%), “Goin’ Bulilit” (23.2%), “Be Careful With My Heart” (22.9%), “Lorenzo’s Time” (19.6%), “Sarah G. Live” (19.4%), and “The X Factor Philippines Saturday” (18.7%).
