Rising star Julia Barretto shares a touching story of a daughter in conflict this Saturday (June 15) in her episode for ABS-CBN’s longest-running drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya.” 

The Kapamilya teen star will give life to the character of Alex, a young teenage girl who grew up in a complete and happy family. Her life reaches a turning point when her mother leaves them for another man because of her father’s drug addiction. Before her family gets even more broken, Alex eventually decides to forgive her father. She works hard to prove to her mother that their family will still be happy without her. Will Alex find it in her heart to forgive her mother for abandoning them?

Maricar Reyes and Richard Poon Wedding (Photos)

Actress-model Maricar Reyes and singer Richard Poon tied the knot on Sunday (June 9) in a Christian wedding ceremony held at the Bellevue Hotel in Alabang, Muntinlupa. 

A private ceremony that is, present at the venue are the families and close friends of both Maricar and Richard, one of the wishes of the couple when they were still planning the wedding. 

"Gusto namin sana ganoon, e, kaunti lang ang mga guest... kasi personal belief ko lang, I think pareho kami, na dapat na sa wedding lang mostly are the people na were there for you nung wala ka pa, wala kang success, wala kang pera. I think those are the people who matter," Richard said in one of his interviews.

The Reyes-Poon nuptial, which was initially planned to be a beach wedding, has black and white as its motif.

Sarah, Angeline, Zsa Zsa and Lani Diva Showdown on ASAP 18 (June 9)

Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo, Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs Angeline Quinto, Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla and Asia's Nightingale Lani Misalucha had a diva showdown on ASAP 18, Sunday (June 9).

The four singers showcased their powerful voices in a tribute to Whitney Houston, singing a medley of the late diva's hits Didn't We Almost Have It All, Where Do Broken Hearts Go and All At Once.

The diva showdown became a hot topic on social networks with netizens debating on who was on top among the four singers. The issue of "sapawan" and stealing the scene from one's co-performer also surfaced. Well, what we just saw was a spectacle of four pushing each other to give their best.

Tom Rodriguez Wants Kissing Scene with Dennis Trillo; Explains Why He Left ABS-CBN

Former PBB housemate Tom Rodriguez transfers to GMA-7 despite his stint on the country's number 1 daytime program Be Careful With My Heart. 

"Mahirap kasi tanggihan ang My Husband's Lover," said Tom in an interview with Journal.

Tom is talking about an upcoming Kapuso teleserye where he will play one of the leads along with Dennis Trillo and Carla Abellana. The show is a controversial one as it will be the first time that a teleserye will be tackling gay relationships.

Tom said that his co-stars in Be Careful With My Heart, where he plays Jeff (Aiza Seguerra's bestfriend and love interest, and father to Cho, played by JM Ibanez), were emotional when he bade the show goodbye.

"Nagpaalam naman ako nang maayos, nag-iyakan nga ang co-stars ko [sa Be Careful With My Heart] on my last taping day with them. Pinalabas na lang na nag-abroad ang character ko," said Tom.

Tom, who auditioned for the role in My Husband's Lover, said that he just can't let the opportunity pass.

"This is a lot of firsts for me. First soap ko sa GMA, first time ko to work with Carla, Dennis and Director Dom, first time ko to play a gay character. I really like the script which is very well written and I couldn’t just let it pass. I’m proud and honored to be part of the show."

In My Husband's Lover, Tom will play Vincent, a discreet gay who is married to Lally played by Carla Abellana. He will be having an affair with Eric, an architect played by Dennis Trillo.

"To be good in my role, I did a lot of research on my own and I found out that homosexual love is not really different from a heterosexual one. Gay lang sila but the feelings of loving and caring for the loved one are the same," added Tom.

Tom is very much dedicated with this project that he insisted that he and Dennis, who are very much in love with each other, should have a kissing scene. Unfortunately, MTRCB will not allow that gay love scene, especially passionate kissing scene, on national TV.

Willie Revillame Banned on ABS-CBN

Is Wowowillie host Willie Revillame banned on ABS-CBN?

After TV host Willie Revillame decided not to renew his contract with TV-5 (read story here), there are reports that he will be back to ABS-CBN where he used to host the noontime show Wowowee. After the much needed showbiz break, Willie hinted of possible appearance in future shows.

The news of Willie's Kapamilya return was even intensified by his recent sighting with Gina Lopez, head of ABS-CBN Foundation and sister of Chairman Gabby Lopez. However, in a recent press conference, ABS-CBN executive Linggit Tan revealed that Willie cannot return on ABS-CBN anytime soon.

"Hindi puwede for the moment. Nagsalita na sina Ma’am Charo [Santos-Concio], CVV [Cory V. Vidanes] at si Gabby [Lopez] na hindi, kaya iyon ang sagot ko," said Linggit Tan when asked if Willie will be back on ABS-CBN.

"At saka, mababa ang ratings niya, ’di ba, three percent?" added Miss LT.

Is ABS-CBN trying to teach Willie a lesson after he left the network who gave him a second or even a third chance? 

Willie's show on TV-5 Wowowillie will run until October and after that, the host said that he will focus on his businesses. Nevertheless, Willie will return as he hinted. If not on ABS-CBN, and probably not on TV-5, will GMA-7 be keen on accepting Willie Revillame?

Gerald and Piolo's Movie On The Job Eyed for Hollywood Remake

Action-thriller OTJ (On The Job) starring Gerald Anderson and Piolo Pascual is being considered for a Hollywood remake. (Video: On The Job Teaser Trailer)

According to Gerald Anderson, On The Job is said to be under the radar of Hollywood producers. In fact, Mark Wahlberg and Tom Cruise have expressed interest in doing a remake of On The Job, directed by acclaimed director Erik Matti.

"Sabi nila direk, 'yung kampo nila Mark Wahlberg tumawag para i-remake, at saka nila Tom Cruise," Gerald told ABS-CBN News at the sidelines of the opening of the 18th French Film Festival in Makati City on Thursday

Produced by Star Cinema and Reality Entertainemnt, On The Job had a succesful world premiere last May at Directors' Fortnight section of the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival in France, receiving a standing ovation.

Recalling the proud moment, Anderson said, "Tinitingnan ko si Piolo, 'Bro, kaunti nalang iiyak na ako, eh.' Kasi talagang ang-init ng pagtanggap nila. Very proud day para sa mga Pinoy," he said.

Before plans for a Hollywood remake, On The Job will have a theatrical release in the United States in the last quarter of the year. Film distributor Well Go USA had acquired the North American rights to the film, according to a report on news website Indiewire.

If the Hollywood remake will be pursued, On The Job will be joining the ranks of several Asian films remade  in Hollywood and became successful. In terms of Filipino movie, Richard Gutierrez's and Iza Calzado's Sigaw was the last Pinoy film in recent memory which had a remake in the States. Titled The Echo, the remake also stars Iza Calzado with Jesse Bradford helmed by original Filipino director Yam Laranas.

Can Gerald and Piolo snatch a role if ever the OTJ remake will push through? 

"Kung may offer, gusto ko ipakita na ang mga Pinoy may talent din. Kung may offer, yes, oo naman, para mapakita natin sa kanila," said Gerald when asked if he is willing to take up a possible Hollywood offer, following his recent exposure to an international audience.

Check out the Cinemalaya trailer of the movie Ekstra (The Bit Player) starring Vilma Santos with special participation of Marian Rivera, Piolo Pascual and Richard Yap. The movie is an entry in the Director's Showcase category of the 2013 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.

Ekstra (The Bit Player) is a socio-realist drama-comedy film, which follows a seemingly usual day in the life of Loida Malabanan (Vilma Santos) as she embarks on yet another shooting day of a soap opera (Una Kang Naging Akin Book 2) as an extra.

Sunday All Stars: Same Artists, Different Format, One Sunday Entertainment

The Kapuso network will air soon the replacement of Party Pilipinas, the defunct Sunday musical variety show of GMA-7. Titled Sunday All Stars, the show promised an all-out fun Sunday afternoon for the whole family.

According to reports and press releases, Sunday All Stars will infuse a new level of noontime TV experience with music and games. Every week, there will also be a showdown of 4 celebrity teams headed by Christian Bautista, Mark Bautista, Jolina Magdangal and Jennylyn Mercado.

SOP and Party Pilipinas mainstays Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Jaya and Janno Gibbs will also be part of Sunday All Stars together with younger generations of Kapuso stars including Heart Evangelista, Lovi Poe, Carla Abellana, Rachelle Ann Go, Julie Anne San Jose, Elmo Magalona, Alden Richards, Glaiza de Castro and a lot more.

In previous reports after Party Pilipinas was axed, it was revealed that 50% of the defunct's show cast members will be part of its replacement and it's not surprising to see the ones above in the new show. After all, they were the stars referred to in the title Sunday All Stars.

Directed by Rommel Gacho, Sunday All Stars "will definitely bring fun and excitement every Sunday afternoon through its world-class performers, ground-breaking concepts, and inventive production numbers this June," said a press release.

On its Facebook page, it was indicated that Sunday All Stars will go head-to-head with longest-running Sunday musical variety show ASAP 18 starting June 16. Can the tested formula of celebrity competitions with loud numbers and extravagant production value save GMA-7's Sunday noontime?

National TV Ratings (June 5-6): Ina Kapatid Anak Hits 39.6% Nationwide!

ABS-CBN's family drama Ina Kapatid Anak bounced back at number 1 nationwide on Thursday (June 6) garnering 39.6% TV rating nationwide according to the data provided by Kantar Media/TNS. 

The show is now nearing its finale and the intense happenings really made viewers glued to their seats. It has beaten Juan Dela Cruz which is also showing an exciting plot recently.

Meanwhile, Eat Bulaga reclaimed lead over It's Showtime with 15.2% on Thursday versus the latter's 13.3%. Here are the Top 10 daytime and primetime programs on June 5-6, 2013 among Total Philippines (Urban & Rural) households:

Charice's Mom Raquel Pempengco Once a Lesbian | On Alyssa Quijano: "Hindi ko siya matatanggap!"

Like mother, like daughter? Charice's mother Raquel Pempengco revealed in a press conference held in Marikina on Friday that she was once a lesbian 

According to Charice's mom, she understand the singer's situation and accept Charice's being "tomboy" as she herself was also a lesbian before. However, the only difference is that she has decided to give in to her sexual preference and chose to start a family.

Before the said presscon, Raquel's mother, Tess Relucio already revealed on PEP that her daughter had a gay relationship in the past. However, when she asked Raquel to go and marry, Charice's mom obliged.

"Hindi kami nagagalit, anak, kasi may pamilya naman tayong tomboy, e, di ba?" said Tess, Charice's maternal grandmom revealing that Raquel was also a lesbian and had an affair with women before. "Noon, oo, nag-uuwi rin ng ganyan… babae… oo, nag-uuwi rin siya ng ganyan," added Tess referring to Charice's mom.

Meanwhile, the hurting mother of Charice clarified that they already knew that Charice was a lesbian long time ago so why apologize? She also said that she can take her daughter for being a lesbian, but she can never accept Alyssa Quijano as Charice's girlfriend. "Hinding hindi ko siya matatanggap," said Raquel on Alyssa.

Charice's grandmother, Tess, explained why their family was not in favor of Charice's relationship with the AKA Jam member.

"Nasasaktan ang mommy mo kasi napakasakit sa isang ina na nakita niya kung papa'no ka laitin ng pamilya ni Alyssa Quijano, tapos ngayon sila pa ang binubuhay mo. Anak, maawa ka sa sarili mo," said lola Tess in her PEP interview.

Star Cinema has released the full trailer of Four Sisters and A Wedding starring Angel Locsin, Bea Alonzo, Toni Gonzaga, Shaina Magdayao and Enchong Dee. The movie is Star Cinema's initial offering in celebration of its 20th anniversary.

Also starring Ms. Coney Reyes and directed by box-office director Cathy Garcia-Molina, Four Sisters and A Wedding is an unforgettable romantic comedy about family relationships, siblings who have grown together and fell apart, and unconditional love.

Ella Cruz Hangs Out with LUV U Boys this Sunday (June 9)

The boys of the “LUV U” gang head out for an event-filled boys-day-out while the girls, Camille (Miles Ocampo), April (Angeli Gonzalez) and Whitney (Kiray Celis) are away. 

JB (Marco Gumabao), Boom (CJ Navato) and Rocky (Igi Boy Flores) decide to troop to Ayala TechnoHub for an exclusive all-boys’ bonding. However, Rocky decides to invite Mariana (Ella Cruz) to hang out with them, without JB or Boom knowing. 

To add to that, Rocky also invites Aly (Lisa Soberano) and Pia (Trina Legazpi) so that Mariana would not feel OP. Why did Rocky invite Mariana? Does he have feelings for her? If he does, how would Mariana react?
