Actor Coco Martin said seeing Pope Benedict XVI personally is something he will surely treasure for the rest of his life. Coco recently went to Rome, Milan and Vatican City to tape some scenes for the top-rated television series Walang Hanggan.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Coco Martin said he and the show's staff got lucky that when they attended Mass at the Vatican, Pope Benedict XVI was there.
Coco said he considers seeing the Pope a blessing.
“Nagpunta kami sa Vatican para mag-Mass, para magpasalamat. First time ko nagpunta roon tapos nagkataon pa nan nandoon ang Pope, sobrang blessing po,” he said.
Another thing which the actor considers a blessing is the good feedback they are getting from the viewers of “Walang Hanggan.”
Aside from his chemistry with leading lady Julia Montes, Martin said he is glad that people also love his rapport with actress Susan Roces, who plays his grandmother.
“Parang nagiging leading lady ko lagi mga lola ko eh. Every time may soap kasi ako may bago akong lola na nakaka-partner, nagkakaroon kami ng bonding and then masaya kasi tumatatak sa mga tao,” he said.
According to Martin, the entire cast of “Walang Hanggan” is truly grateful that people continue to watch the show, even among Filipinos abroad.
“Masaya kasi nagbubunga ang mga pinaghihirapan namin. Masaya ako dahil nakasama ko ang malalaking artista. Sa lahat ng TFC at sa lahat ng mga nanonood dito sa Pilipinas ng ‘Walang Hanggan,’ thank you so much po talaga,” he said. – from a report by Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
