Early favorite Colton Dixon got the boot on the Top 7 Redux Elimination (Results Night) of American Idol Season 11, April 19 (April 20 in the Philippines). The singing heartthrob from Tennessee garnered the lowest number of votes and was sent packing without the chance to sing for his life.
Apparently after last week's shocking elimination, the only judges save was used on Jessica, and thus the one who gets the lowest number of votes will be automatically eliminated from the competition.
Colton Dixon was joined by Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone in the bottom three.
Colton performed Lady Gaga's Bad Romance and Earth, Wind and Fire's September during last night's performance show. If you happen to miss last night's performance, you can watch all the Top 7 redux performances here.
The competition is now getting stiffer with only six contestants left battling for the Idol title. Who among Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez, Elise Testone, Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine will be making the top 5 next week?
It seems that girl power is working now on American Idol Season 11. With only 2 boys versus 4 girls, we might have a girl winner this season after Jordin Sparks in 2007.
