The official music video for American Idol Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips' coronation song Home has been released.

The song, composed by Drew Pearson and Greg Holden, is said to be the best American Idol coronation song ever written, not just with its catchy melody and inspiring lyrics but also with how it fits with the singer.

The song Home was originally for British singer Greg Holden but was pitched to Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine as a potential coronation song and the rest was history. Phillip Phillips first single it is, Home eventually topped iTunes charts and debuted at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Another talented and cute white guy with guitar won American Idol, none other than Leesburg, Georgia's Phillip Phillips. The 11th American Idol winner was announced yesterday, May 24 after thousands of crowd at the Nokia Theatre and millions watching all over the world.

Phillip Phillips beat Filipina-Mexican-American Jessica Sanchez after 132 million votes was cast. After he was announced as the winner of American Idol 2012, Phillip sang his coronation song, Home but did not dare finish the song as he simply broke in tears. A dramatic moment indeed when he went down on stage just before the song ended and confetti still falling down to hug his family.

American Idol Season 11 Top 2 Finale performance night on May 22 (May 23 in Manila) was indeed a neck-to-neck battle between Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips. The American Idol 2012 Top 2  performed three songs each - one of Idol creator Simon fuller's choice, one of the Idol hopeful's favorite performance of the season and their coronation song, the one that will be released as their new single after winning American Idol.

The American Idol 2012 Finale performance night opened with Jessica Sanchez' performance of Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing which was chosen by Simon Fuller for Jessica. Simon Fuller had chosen Ben E. King's Stand by Me for Phillip Phillips.

The Top 2 then performed their personal favorites of the season and Jessica tackled The Prayer, the song which got her to Top 24. Phillip rekindled his Movin' Out (Anthony's Song) moment which was well praised during the Top 10 Billy Joel's night.

For their coronation song,  Jessica Sanchez was made to sing Change Nothing, an original song that will be released as her single if ever she won while Phillip Phillips rendered Home, another original for him.

Who will win the Season 11 of American Idol?

After their performances tonight and based on the judges' comments and the reaction of the crowd, we predict that Phillip Phillips will be hailed as the 11th American Idol come tomorrow's finale results night. Phillip Phillips got a standing ovation from the judges for his last performance (Home) and Randy Jackson claimed that it was the best of the night.

Although Jessica Sanchez did well on her performances, the judges' gave a restrained nod for her. The producers assigned her not quite a carry-on song unlike Phillip who was given the better songs so it's obvious who they wanted to emerge as this seasons winner.

Moreover, the fact that Phillip Phillips' did not even landed on the bottom group (which Jessica did, even faced elimination if not for the judges' save) reflects that he has a large voting fanbase. He can also have the sympathy votes, what with him continuing to fight even with kidney problems and a scheduled operation. There were also conspiracy theories (e.g. the Kristy Lee Cook curse) pointing to Phillip's win, another ride for the WGWG bandwagon.

However, the fact that Jessica Sanchez entered the Finale as the underdog might cause a great revolution for fans to vote for her. We knew how Filipinos unite for a goal and her Mexican and American fans will surely not let her down.

Though it's Phillip who we predict will be crowned on May 23rd's Idol finale results night, our hopes are still intact for Jessica Sanchez. But as our girl said, win or lose, it's a win-win situation for her and we believe that. After all, it's not always the winner that become successful post Idol. With Jessica's talent, she will definitely shine, crowned or not.

American Idol Season 11 finale is just few days away and everyone is excited for this big musical showdown between the American Idol 2012 Top 2 - Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips. Both are talented singers and well-loved by fans so it will be difficult to predict between the 2 who will emerge as winner come finale time. The Top 2, Jessica and Phillip both have charisma so it will not only be a battle of voices, a battle of choices but also a battle of voting fans. American Idol 2012 Top 3 Results Night: Joshua Ledet Eliminated!

Joshua Ledet got the boot on American Idol 2012 Top 3 Results Show (Elimination Night) May 17 (May 18 in Manila). 

Joshua joined the ranks of Haley Reinhart, Syesha Mercado, Elliot Yamin, Melinda Doolittle, Jasmine Trias and other Idol Top 3 finalist who missed out the opportunity to be a member of American Idol Top 2 and the chance to compete in the finale.

The American Idol Season 11 Top 2 spots were snatched by Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips, who will battle it all out for next week's finale (May 22 performance and May 23 results show).

Before Joshua made his final vow on the American Idol stage, Idol alumnus and Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert performed his new song, Never Close Our Eyes (from his sophomore album "Trespassing" which dropped May 15) while Lisa Marie Presley sang You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet, her latest single from her new album “Storm & Grace.” 

Joshua Ledet is one of the favorites to make it in the finale and his performances last night earned rave reviews from the judges, who again gave Joshua a standing ovation for his performance of Etta James' classic, I'd Rather Go Blind which was picked for him by Randy Jackson. He also tackled John Lennon's Imagine and Mary J. Blige's No More Drama to a great extent.

American Idol Season 11 Top 3 performance night on May 16 (May 17 in Manila) saw a great battle of choices for the American Idol 2012 Top 3. The Top 3 idol hopefuls performed three songs each - one of their personal choice, one of the judges' choice and one of Jimmy Iovine's choice.

The American Idol Top 3 first sang what the judges' have chosen for them. Judge Randy Jackson picked I'd Rather Go Blind by Etta James for Joshua Ledet while Jennifer Lopez chose Mariah Carey's My All for Jessica Sanchez. Judge Steven Tyler gave Phillip Phillips Madcon's Beggin' to sing.

Next in line were the idol hopefuls' personal song choice. Joshua Ledet performed Imagine, a big John Lennon hit while Jessica Sanchez tackled Aerosmith's I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing. Phillip Phillips had chosen Disease by Matchbox 20.

For Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine's choice, the songs were No More Drama (Mary J. Blige) for Joshua, I'll Be There (Jackson 5) for Jessica and We've Got Tonight (Bob Seger) for Phillip.

Who will go home tomorrow night and who will consist the American Idol 2012 Top 2 to battle it out for the finale next week?

We predict that Phillip Phillips will surely be there in the finale. The guy is the only one that hasn't gone to Ryan Seacrest stools and that says a lot about Phillip's large voting fanbase. Besides, he certainly had the pimp spot from last week until this week's performance.

Who will join Phillip in the Top 2 for the finale? We predict it will be Joshua Ledet. The soul singer had been consistent with great performances and the judges' standing  ovations matter a lot. His fanbase is getting larger and they will probably not let Joshua down.

Personally, I wanted a Phillip-Jessica finale but based on what happened tonight and the judges' comments, Jessica might be thrown out of the bus. The only girl left could have been already voted out if not for the judges save and based on history, no saved contestant ever reach the finale (although Jessica made history for being the saved contestant that had gone the farthest in the competition).

My hopes are still intact for Jessica and who knows, with the voting power of her Filipino, Mexican and American fans, she might grab that other spot in the finale and eventually win this whole thing (my fingers crossed).

Jessica can always obliterate the trend and probably become the first female American Idol after a long female drought in the competition. Last female Idol winner was Jordin Sparks way back in 2007 (Season 6). This will hold true if the producers and the voting audience won't allow another male domination.

Phillip Phillips Performs We've Got Tonight on American Idol Top 3

Phillip Phillips gave a wonderful performance of Bob Seger's We've Got Tonight on American Idol 2012 Top 3 performance night May 16 (May 17 in Manila). The American Idol Season 11Top 3 performs three songs each - one of their choice, one of the judges' choice and one of Jimmy Iovine's choice.

We've Got Tonight is Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine's choice for Phillip Phillips. It seems like Phillip is a shoo-in for the finale with this choice, which earned him a standing ovation from the judges. Phillip's first 2 songs are Madcon's Beggin' and Matchbox 20's Disease (click the links to watch Phillip's performances).
