Actor Xian Lim became a hot topic during the Chinese New Year celebration not because he's part Chinese but because of his alleged rude and ungentlemanly behavior while guesting in the live episode of Banana Nite on January 30.
According to reports, Xian Lim poked fun at Kim Chiu kalaokalike Charmae Viking after the actor performed a song in the said live show to welcome the Chinese New Year. [WATCH THE VIDEO HERE]
"Maraming, maraming salamat! Sino ‘to?" Xian asked, puzzled with the appearance of the Kim Chiu kalokalike on stage. He then greeted everyone a Happy Chinese New Year. He addressed Viking, "Ang taas ng energy. Kamusta naman?" after the impersonator greeted the crowd.
When the girl responded "Okay naman," Xian asked "Anong ginagawa ni Bea Binene dito?" before turning to the crowd once more and greeting them again a happy new year.
Xian was about to leave when Jayson Gainza went up the stage to have a little chat with him and the Kim Chiu kalokalike.
Xian told Jayson, "Nag-guest siya from GMA," then laugh.
Jayson then asked Xian to describe his preparations for the Chinese New Year and he responded, "Paano maghahanda nandito pa tayo? Hindi ko pa alam pagkauwi ko mamaya. Malamang may handaan dun."
Jayson also asked Viking the same question but Xian interrupted, "Tanungin natin kung anong teleserye niya sa GMA. Si Bea Binene."
Xian's behavior earned the netizens' ire telling him that they were turned off with how he acted on the show. The actor, however, apologized after the incident in a series of Twitter posts.
"I deeply apologize if I caused negative feelings while singing onstage during the Chinese New Years Eve countdown. It was not my intention, and I take full responsibility for my actions. HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVERYONE! :-)"
Xian was also involved in another issue accusing him of rude behavior while being interviewed in the radio show of Jobert Sucaldito last December (read about it here).
