The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) caught a teen actor and three others in the act of smoking marijuana during 7107 International Music Festival held February 23 in Clarkfield, Pampanga.
A press statement from PDEA said that a stainless box containing marijuana dried leaves; one piece of marijuana stick; and one blue tablet suspected to be valium and a smoking pipe with marijuana residue were confiscated from the teen actor and his two companions.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, seven people were nabbed, including the young actor and 3 minors. Three were released while the young actor (whose name is being withheld because he is a minor) and 3 others were brought to the Angeles City Prosecutor's Office for inquest.
According to PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr., the 17-year-old teen actor was a product of a popular reality show and became part of the ABS-CBN afternoon series, Galema.
"Both the 17-year-old boys will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), San Fernando, Pampanga. Although they are minors, they will be criminally liable under Republic Act 9344 or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, if the court finds that they violated the anti-drug law," said PDEA in the press statement.
According to a source by Pep.ph, the young actor has been released from PDEA Region 3. It also added that he was tested negative from drugs.
However, PDEA Region 3 is yet to confirm the results of the drug test. The agency also remained firm on its stand that the group was caught in a pot session and their agents have recovered marijuana.
