Michael Phelps in a Speedo for Louis Vuitton ad

Posted on August 14, 2012 | 7:51 PM

Michael Phelps may have retired from the pool waters but that doesn't mean that he will not wear his Speedo and goggles anymore just like what he did for a Louis Vuitton ad recently.

Michael Phelps was photographed by Annie Leibovitz partially submerged in a bathtub with that  sultry look and beside him atop a towel was the Louis Vuitton duffle bag.

Dubbed as the most successful Olympian of all time with 22 medals, Michael Phelps, 27, also appeared in another LV ad together with Larisa Latynina of Russia, 77, a former gymnast who held the record as the most decorated Olympian for the last 48 years (with 18 medals) until Phelps' performance in the 2012 London Olympics.

Michael Phelps, though already retired from competitive swimming still wanted to grow the said sport more and more. Now being involved in golf, Michael Phelps said that he also wanted to travel after his retirement. If there's any chance that he will compete again in the 2016 Rio Games, Phelps has this to say:

"I've had the opportunity to do something nobody else has ever done before so I'm very happy with that."

Stephan Feck's Flop Dive Dubbed as "Worst Olympic Dive"

Posted on August 9, 2012 | 1:12 PM

Germany's Stephan Feck's flop dive at the aquatic center of the 2012 London Olympics earned him the distinction of having the worst Olympic dive.

The German springboard diver fell flat on his back after attempting a somersault in the men's 3m springboard preliminary round. Stephan Feck lost grip on one of his leg which made him spun out of control, landing with a resounding splash instead of a quiet fall.

Stephan Feck got zeroes from all of the judges plus the gasps from all the spectators. This is another disappointment from Germany's water sports team which has been collecting medals from water sports for the last Olympic Games.

"So what the Feck happened?" SB Nation's Ryan Hudson asked. "Quite simply, he performed one of the worst dives ever in Olympic competition... but made himself forever Internet famous."

Stephan Feck's flop dive went viral as soon as it was posted on the web but copies of that video were either blocked on copyright grounds or removed by the uploader. At least we have the GIF image below to see Feck's "worst dive."

Preparations of Team Philippines for the 2012 London Olympics Bared

Posted on July 23, 2012 | 3:29 PM

The country’s slim, eleven-member delegation to the 2012 London Olympics is set to compete against the world’s best athletes in a bid to end the Philippines’ medal drought.

Tomorrow (July 24) in “Patrol ng Pilipino,” ABS-CBN reporter Gretchen Malalad will report on the heartwarming stories behind the Olympians’ preparations and sacrifices to bring honor to the country. Will one of them finally bag the first gold medal for the Philippines?
2012 London Olympics

For this year’s Olympics, the country has sent its smallest delegation since 1932 with only eleven but highly competitive athletes. Amidst inadequate funding for athletes and lack of decent facilities, how have the eleven Filipino Olympians kept their focus on training to represent the country?

Meanwhile, Maan Macapagal will delve into the yellow plane policy recently implemented by the Metro Manila Development Authority that limits buses to two lanes nearest the sidewalk and bans them from using flyovers and tunnels along EDSA.

Some bus drivers condemn the memorandum for allegedly prioritizing private vehicles, but will it effectively reduce traffic glitches in the metro? Or do we need to impose stricter rules to the public and motorists?

Know the stories behind the news tomorrow (July 24) in “Patrol ng Pilipino” after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN or watch it earlier on DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable Channel 26), 9:15 p.m.
