Lauren Young To Transfer to GMA-7, from 'Mula Sa Puso' to 'Kapuso'

Lauren Young is set to become a Kapuso soon, online reports confirmed. Lauren, who is the sister of Megan Young, started her career as a Star Magic talent where she appeared on several ABS-CBN shows. 

A member of the Star Magic Batch 13, Lauren Young played Nelle in the teen-oriented program Abt Ur Luv where she was paired with the late actor AJ Perez. The show introduced Lauren as one of Star Magic's best bet.

She came on playing minor roles on television via Your Song and MMK until she was finally given her biggest break, playing Olivia Pereira in the remake of Mula Sa Puso which eventually became her last major project in the Kapamilya network.

According to Pilipino Star Ngayon, Lauren Young will be managed by Pia Magalona, the mother of her rumored boyfriend Elmo Magalona. GMA Artist center is also set to co-manage Lauren.

With Lauren's transfer to the Kapuso network, many JuliElmo fans were worried of their idols status as a love team, especially now that the two are promoting their very first film together. The management, however , guaranteed that there's no reason to worry about since Lauren will be given her very own love team when she finally transfer to GMA.

Bangs Garcia Figures in a Car Accident

Kapamilya actress Bangs Garcia met a vehicular accident along Elliptical Road in Quezon City afternoon of July 6. 

Bangs Garcia was riding her Toyota Grandia when it was hit by a Mafel Bus headed for Fairview. The collision caused a serious damage on the said van's windows but fortunately, Bangs was not hurt in the incident.

According to ABS-CBN news, the bus also hit an L300 van as it "swerved out of control." The accident caused a heavy traffic in the area but the authorities said that all vehicles have been removed already.

Bangs tweeted this afternoon how dismayed she was with bus drivers in the country.

“Car accident.i hate bus drivers here in d Philippines!Very arrogant,they think they're juz drivin a motorcycle!my window broken into pieces!”

She also was reminded of the the April 2011 accident which took the life of young actor AJ Perez.

“Im okay. Thank God. Naalala ko c aj perez eh kaya ambilis ng reflex ko.”

Before the accident, Bangs Garcia had met with the members of the press for her Cinemalaya 2012 entry Posas then proceed to ABS-CBN to fit her gown for the 20th anniversary presentation of Star Magic on ASAP this Sunday. 

Later this afternoon, she posted the photo below saying:

“Hit by a Bus earlier after i left Abs-Cbn for my fitting. Broken window, i was seated there! God saved me...”

AJ Perez' MMK Episode To Air This Good Friday

Maalaala Mo Kaya's 'Tsinelas' episode starring AJ Perez and Bugoy Cariño will air once more this Good Friday, April 6. The said episode is one of the three heartwarming epsiodes that will air this Holy Week for MMK lenten presentation.

'Tsinelas' tells the story of 2 brothers (played by AJ and Bugoy) who took on a journey from Manila back to Catbalogan, Samar by foot. The said episode is a certified tear-jerker as you will see how much the brothers love each other. This was AJ Perez' last acting appearance before he died and I must say, his performance was really moving and worth 5 stars.

Meanwhile, Ai Ai Delas Alas' MMK episode entitled 'Krus' about a mother who's only 2 sons died of incurable disease and Piolo Pascual and Maricar Reyes' 'Traysikel' episode about a tricycle driver who returned a large sum of money to the owner even if his sick baby needed it the most, will complete MMK's lenten offering airing at Maundy Thursday (April 5) and Black Saturday (April 7), respectively.

Forever Young: Remembering AJ Perez

Today, February 17 is the birthday of the late Kapamilya actor, AJ Perez. Born Antonello Joseph "AJ" Sarte Perez, AJ could have been one of the most respected actors of his generation if not for his untimely death.

AJ was part of Star Magic Batch 13 and his first regular show in ABS-CBN was the youth-oriented series Abt Ur Luv way back in 2006 where he is teamed up with Lauren Young. His career eventually grow and he was casted in several shows and movies such as Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo, Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo, BFF, ANg Tanging Pamilya, Babe, I Love You and Mammarazi. He also star in one of the episodes of Star Cinema's Cinco, a horror film with 5 different stories.

In 2008, AJ became part of the original 'Gigger Boys' group along with members Robi Domingo, Dino Imperial, Chris Guttierez, Arron Villaflor, Sam Concepcion and Enchong Dee. The group also had their Your Song series entitled Boystown.

His biggest break in television came to be his team up with Jessy Mendiola in Sabel way back in 2010 where he played a leading role.

AJ's last TV appearance was the episode 'Tsinelas' in MMK along with Bugoy Carino where the two played brothers who walked their way from Manila to Catbalogan, Samar. The said episode was aired after AJ's death.

It was April 17, 2011 when AJ met an accident in Tarlac on their way home after a show at Dagupan, Pangasinan. AJ was the only casualty among the 5 passengers of the ABS-CBN van, including AJ's father. He was 18 at the time of his death.

Ten months have passed after his untimely death but his memory will be remembered forever. A model youth who was able to juggle studies and work, a loving brother and son and most especially, an idol of his age. We can say that 18 years is short for a man to live but for AJ, 18 years was just enough to create an etch in everyone's heart.
