Maalaala Mo Kaya remains as the country’s no.1 drama anthology as it continues to reign its timeslot despite the new programs pitted against it. This was proven by the recent data from Kantar Media where the 2012 Anak TV Seal awardee ruled the ratings game with its 27.2% national TV rating, compared to its rival weekly drama in GMA, Magpakailanman which only got garnered 22.9%.
Meanwhile, starting December 17, ABS-CBN will be bringing MMK Klasiks to showcase the best of the Maalaala Mo Kaya episodes in celebration of their 20th anniversary as the longest running drama anthology in Asia. Kicking off in December, the team headed by the newly appointed Business Unit Head, writer and director Ruel S. Bayani selected all the best Christmas episodes of MMK and will be showcasing it on the first two weeks of the show.
MMK Klasiks is the Philippine version of MMK Classics that started in June 3, 2012 and is currently airing on The Filipino Channel (TFC). MMK Klasiks, which will replace Angelito Ang Bagong Yugto will be featuring a variety of stories that will tackle family, love, friendship, hope and new beginnings that are usually the theme of their Christmas episodes featuring the talented actors in the field of drama like Dolphy, Ai Ai delas Alas, Roderick Paulate, Cherry Pie Picache, Susan Roses, Elizabeth Oropesa, Eula Valdes, Anita Linda, Nida Blanca, Connie Reyes, Judy Ann Santos, and more.
Episodes that will be shown on the first two weeks include Pahiram ng Isang Pasko (1996), Lupa (1996), Gown (2002), Talaarawan (1998), Baul (1996), Otto San (1999), Basket (2001), Kerubin (1992), and Abo (1996).
MMK Klasiks will be airing starting December 17 at the Kapamilya Gold after It’s Showtime only on ABS-CBN. Maalaala Mo Kaya is hosted by Charo Santos-Concio.
