National TV Ratings (August 3-4): Alex Gonzaga MMK, Highest Rating Episode for 2013 with 38.6%

The MMK episode starring returning Kapamilya Alex Gonzaga and Dimples Romana which aired Saturday (August 3) registered 38.6% TV ratings nationwide, the highest-rating MMK episode yet for 2013. The said MMK episode posted a 21.5% difference from rival Magpakailanman which only got 17.1% nationwide.

Ella Cruz and Francis Magundayao's Wansapanataym special is the second most-watched program last Saturday. Meanwhile, The Voice of the Philippines Battle Rounds topped Sunday viewing, followed by Rated K.

ABS-CBN Dominates List of Top 15 Programs Nationwide in July 2013

ABS-CBN dominated nationwide TV ratings for the month of July by virtue of its weeklong top-caliber offerings that continue to gain significant increases as more and more viewers watch them on both weekday and weekend nights.

The multi-awarded and longest-running drama anthology in Asia “Maalaala Mo Kaya” secured the top spot among the country’s most watched programs with a national TV rating of 35.4%. It was followed by top-rater “Juan Dela Cruz” with 34.9% and “Wansapanataym” with 32.2%.

The top-rating and Twitter-trending singing-reality show “The Voice of the Philippines,” meanwhile, landed on fourth place with a national TV rating of 29%. “TV Patrol” once again ruled all newscasts in the country with a national TV rating of 28.7%, beating “24 Oras” with only 18.5%.

Newly launched primetime teleserye “Muling Buksan ang Puso” instantly zoomed to the top of the list with 28.7%, outdoing its rival program on GMA, “Mundo Mo’y Akin,” which only got 21.3%.

Alex Gonzaga Maltreated by Dimples Romana in MMK (August 3)

Returning Kapamilya and actress-host Alex Gonzaga will star in her first-ever “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode this Saturday (August 3). In the upcoming heavy drama episode of “MMK,” Alex will play the role of Pinky, a lovable and helpful adoptive daughter to her aunt and uncle, who had to endure the maltreatment of her cousin, Rene (Dimples Romana).

Jealous with the attention that Pinky is receiving from her parents, Rene makes Pinky’s life miserable. Pinky keeps mum about the situation because she wants to finish her studies with the help of her foster family. As Pinky grows numb with Rene’s physical and emotional torture to her, from being a cry baby, Pinky eventually becomes a strong woman having the motivation to be successful so she can one day get her revenge on Rene.

Joining Alex in her “MMK” debut are Dimples, Maila Gumila, Lito Pimentel, Daisy Reyes, Alan Paule, Guji Lorenzana and Slater Young. This Saturday (July 27), “MMK” will present another heavy family drama episode starring Kapamilya actress Empress. She will play the role of Claire, a loving daughter who will feel devastated and betrayed by her own family upon knowing the truth about her real identity.

ABS-CBN's Juan Dela Cruzhas proven once more that it's the country's number 1 show when it registered 36.2% TV rating on Friday, July 19. The show's rating was a far cry from second place Muling Buksan Ang Puso with only 28.4%.

Asia's longest-running drama anthology “MMK” will share another top caliber family drama episode to TV viewers this Saturday (July 20), featuring former best child performers, namely Carlo Aquino and Lester Llansang.

The two will play the role of identical twins Fred (Carlo) and Freddie (Lester), who will both be maltreated and abused in the ships where they work as fishermen.

The MMK episode of Angeline Quinto is the most-watched program last weekend garnering a nationwide TV rating of 36.5%, even higher than Paulo Avelino's MMK the prior week. In the said episode, Angeline plays a clown to support her family.
