Sarah Geronimo, Wansapanataym Clinch 'Ani ng Dangal' Awards

Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo and ABS-CBN award-winning fantasy-drama anthology Wanspanataym recently bagged ‘Ani ng Dangal’ award from the National Commission on Culture and Arts (NCCA).

Sarah Geronimo, who is named Goodwill Ambassadress for Music by the NCAA, and Wanspanataym ‘Chalk Boy’ episode won in the Multi-Disciplinary Arts category.

Meanwhile, Kapamilya child wonder Zaijian Jaranilla is set to win the hearts of TV viewers once again this Saturday (March 16) in “Wanspanataym” as he portrays the role of Tonton, a young boy who is fond of eating junk food and skipping meals. When he slept one night without eating, Tonton’s soul was detached from his body and was brought to a world where he meets kids who also take food for granted. Will Tonton start to eat nutritious food at the right time when he takes on the challenge of experiencing extreme hunger in order for him to see his family once again?

Together with Zaijian in the episode ‘Hungry Games’ are Lara Quigaman, Jaime Fabregas, Boots Anson-Roa, Yogo Singh, Gerald Pesigan, and Micko Laurente. It is written by Mariami Tanangco-Domingo and directed by Jon ‘Sponky’ Villarin.

Amid pressing talks about hailing the late Comedy King Dolphy as the National Artist continue, National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) chairman Felipe de Leon Jr. takes the hot seat in “The Bottomline With Boy Abunda” this Saturday (July 28) to bravely clarify the various issues associated with their agency. 

What are the processes that NCCA has to follow in choosing the National Artist in our country? Is it true that Dolphy’s gay portrayals in some of his films affected his chance of winning the recognition? Is there a possibility for Dolphy to be finally be declared as National Artist this year?
