The Year in Music: 68 of 2013's Biggest Hits in One Mashup Video (Pop Danthology)

Before the year ends, let's have a rundown of the top songs which graced the charts in 2013 in a video mashup created by music composer and producer Daniel Kim. The five-minute clip, which took 180 hours to complete, blends together snippets of various music videos.

Known as Pop Danthology 2013, the 68-song compilation features some of 2013′s greatest hits, including Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball, Zedd‘s Clarity, and One Direction‘s Best Song Ever, PSY's Gentleman, Katy Perry's Roar and Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines.

One Direction 3D Movie 'This Is Us' Poster Unveiled

In what has become a frenzied digital search by 1D fans, One Direction and Sony Pictures unveiled the official movie poster for their upcoming 3D film, One Direction: This Is Us. The poster includes an amazing array of fan-submitted photos from around the world.

Paying tribute to those that helped catapult the band to success, the poster’s backdrop is a mosaic made up of thousands of Little Things – the fans themselves. Hundreds of thousands of people have flooded the official site and submitted photos since February in the hopes that their snapshot will be featured in the movie poster.

The tribute poster also “comes to life” when fans use their smart phones to scan the Zapcode on the poster unlocking an augmented reality experience and exclusive video content of the band. The Zappar app is free and available for download in the App Store or Google Play.

A digital version of the poster, which will include even more fan photos within the mosaic, will launch online in early May at http://www.1dthisisus-movie.com/. Participants will be able to locate and share their photo across multiple social networks.

The movie is directed by acclaimed documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me), and will hit theaters in the U.S. and the Philippines on Friday, August 30th.

One Direction – Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson – were discovered by Simon Cowell on the U.K.’s “The X Factor” in 2010. The band quickly gained a following to become one of the competition’s all-time most popular acts, finishing in the final three and garnering a gigantic and loyal fanbase along the way. In March 2012, One Direction’s debut album, “Up All Night,” made U.S. history, as it was the first time a U.K. group’s debut album entered the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at No. 1. The band has sold over 29 million records worldwide. In November 2012, One Direction released their sophomore album, “Take Me Home,” which includes the No. 1 single, “Live While We’re Young,” and are currently on a sold-out world tour.

Simon Cowell, Adam Milano, Morgan Spurlock, and Ben Winston are producing the film. Executive Producers are Richard Griffiths, Harry Magee, Will Bloomfield, Doug Merrifield, Jeremy Chilnick, and Matthew Galkin.

Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2013 Winners: Sarah Geronimo Loses to Han Geng

The 2013 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards happened March 23, 2013 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California. One Direction and Kristen Stewart emerged as big winners clinching two awards  each. 

The UK boy band won Favorite Music Group and Favorite Song (What Makes You Beautiful) while Kristen Stewart took home the Favorite Movie Actress (Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn 2) and Favorite Female Buttkicker (Snow White and the Huntsman) awards.

Meanwhile, our very own Sarah Geronimo lost to Chinese star and former Super Junior member Han Geng in the Favorite Asian Act category. Last year, it was Charice who won the award on its debut in KCA.

People's Choice Awards 2013 Winners Announced

The 39th annual People's Choice Awards 2013 happened January 9 (January 10, MLA time) at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Hosted by Kaley Cuoco, the show honored the best in television, music and movies — as chosen by the fans themselves.

The Hunger Games and Katy Perry were the big winners in the movies and music category, respectively. Katy won as Favorite Pop Artist and Female Artist, among others while The Hunger Games won as Favorite Movie, Action Movie and Movie Franchise.

One Direction 'Kiss You' Music Video (Viral Video)

One Direction's Kiss You music video just hit the web and has already gone viral after its release on One Direction's YouTube Vevo page, amassing more than 12 million views in just 2 days.

Kiss You is 1D's third single from their sophomore album "Take Me Home." The music video was directed by Vaughan Arnell, who also helmed One Direction's music videos for Live While We're Young and Little Things.

In the Kiss You music video, One Direction is shown shooting different scenes via a green screen, dressed as sailors, surfers, skiers and jailers. The video has been described as retro, with scenes reminiscent of iconic videos like Jailhouse Rock, South Pacific and Beach Blanket Bingo, among others.

One Direction – 'Shadow Pico' Art-House Film Trailer (Bad Lip Reading)

British boy band One Direction stars in the band's very first foreign language art-house film Shadow Pico, the trailer of which hits YouTube on December 27.

Shadow Pico, however, is only a spoof of One Direction's music video Gotta Be You remixed by YouTube sensation Bad Lip Reading and dubbed several phony (or let's say gibberish) languages to make it an artsy movie trailer.

"They've captivated the world with their music," the intro says. "Now experience One Direction as you've never seen them before. In their first foreign language motion picture."

Bristish boy band One Direction has released the official lyric video of their latest single Kiss You from their sophomore album "Take Me Home" (read more about the album here). The lyrics video gained more than 600,000 views two days after it was uploaded on 1D's VEVO on YouTube.
