American singer Rex Smith allegedly insulted Pinay singing sensation Charice while she was rehearsing for a corporate show at a hotel in Cebu early this week.
Charice's manager Glenn Aldueza said in an interview on Thursday that Charice was doing her sound check for the event when Rex Smith suddenly went up the stage and told the Pinay singer to stop.
"We went there on time (2 p.m.) and she's doing the sound check with the musical director. Then suddenly a foreigner came up to the stage and then he pointed his finger to Charice and told Charice, 'Can you please stop what you are doing,'" Aldueza told ABS-CBN News.
Aldueza added that Rex Smith also argued with the musical director after the latter told the Simply Jessie singer that somebody is still rehearsing. Charice's manager also said that Rex Smith even uttered the F-word when he left the stage.
"Charice was shocked and according to her wala pang nakakagawa sa kanya ng ganoon, especially American artists na mataas ang respect sa kanya," Aldueza continued.
Someone from Ovation Productions, who brought Smith to the Philippines for the show, apologized to Charice's team after the incident. They also said that the American singer will be saying sorry personally, something that never happened according to Aldueza.
"Ayaw (ni Charice) na palakihin' yung nangyari pero as a manager we deserve an apology," Aldueza said.
Rex Smith is yet to react on the issue.
