Paulo Avelino Continues to Shine in ABS-CBN

Kapamilya leading man Paulo Avelino is thankful for all the blessings he has been receiving since he made the ‘big switch’ to ABS-CBN.

From being named as one of the ‘100 Sexiest Men in the Philippines’ (#5) by Starmometer this year, Paulo is now recognized as a full-fledged actor not only because of his phenomenal role as Nathan in the no. 1 TV program in the Philippines, “Walang Hanggan,” but also after being recognized as the best supporting actor— his first acting award–in the recent 2012 Pasado Awards for the indie film “Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa.”

According to Paulo, his first acting award drives him to improve on his craft even more. “I have to raise the bar higher in terms of acting. With the award, I am more inspired to work harder and prove my worth as an actor,” said Paulo.

Being one of the most sought after leading men in ABS-CBN, Paulo shared that he is so happy with everything that is happening. “I never expected or aimed for popularity. I was already happy that I was given great roles to play,” Paulo said. “But I got to learn fast when I was offered with challenging roles by ABS-CBN—from ‘100 Days to Heaven’ to ‘Wansapanataym’ and ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya.’ These roles served as great preparation for my stint in ‘Walang Hanggan.”

When asked about his ‘secret to success,’ Paulo simply answered: “Hard work and a lot of prayers. Never stop believing, never stop learning, and always stay humble. Of course, I’m very thankful to the support of my network, ABS-CBN.”

Meanwhile, like Paulo’s blooming showbiz career, his character in “Walang Hanggan” continues to move the emotions of its loyal viewers, as Nathan finally shows his true personality in the story. Now that the real identity of Daniel (Coco Martin) is set to be revealed, how will Nathan accept that his greatest rival in Katerina’s (Julia Montes) heart is his own brother? Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis Tied as Best Actress in 2012 PASADO Awards

Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis are tied as Best Actress (PINAKAPASADOng Aktres) in the 2012 PASADO Awards organized by the Pampelikulang Samahan ng mga Dalubguro (PASADO). 

The two Kapamilya stars received accolades for their performances in their respective movies, In The Name of Love for Angel and No Other Woman for Anne.

Aga Muhlach and Laguna Governor ER Ejercito are also tied as Best Actor (PINAKAPASADOng Aktor).

Meanwhile, Bangs Garcia won as the Best Supporting Aktres (PINAKAPASADOng Katuwang na Aktres) for her portrayal in the movie Segunda Mano as Kris Aquino's bestfriend. Paulo Avelino clinches the Best Supporting Actor Award (PINAKAPASADOng Katuwang na Aktor) for the movie Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa, which also garnered the Best Picture award (PINAKAPASADOng Pelikula) together with  Asiong Salonga and  In The Name of Love.
