The popular talent portion relaunch, which reworked the idea from the grand finals of its first season, will have celebrities to guide and train the contestant families for the entire season until they reach the grand finals.
Each day this week, two celebrity mentors will give a ‘sample’ of their talent before studio and TV audiences. Introduced last Monday (Oct 29) were 6Cyclemind vocalist Tutti Caringal and theater and TV actor Robert Sena, the celebrity mentor of Gollayan family who was declared the grand champion of the first ‘Bida Kapamilya.’ Aira Bermudez of Sexbomb and comedienne Cacai Bautista were also revealed as mentors yesterday (Oct 30).
‘Bida Kapamilya Round 2’ is just one of the many surprises and segments in the new season of “It’s Showtime,” which is now the number one noontime show nationwide according to data from Kantar Media. The Kapamilya noontime show hit a national TV rating of 19.7% against GMA’s “Eat Bulaga” that only got 14.5% last Saturday (Oct 27).
“It’s Showtime” also proved its continued strong performance versus “Eat Bulaga” as it also won the ratings game from Monday to Friday last week with 15% vs 14.8% (Oct 22); 16% vs 14.3% (Oct 23); 15.9% vs 12.9% (Oct 24); 19.8% vs 15.2% (Oct 25); and 20.9% vs 15% (Oct 26).
The new season serves as a back-to-back follow-up treat to the program’s third anniversary celebration, which concluded in a talent showdown that resulted in a triple tie among hosts Anne Curtis and Karylle, Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz, and Billy Crawford and Vhong Navarro, who all got a perfect score of 10 from the judges.
