American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez sang the US national anthem Star-Spangled Banner at the PBS Memorial Day Concert 2012 at the US Capital West Lawn, Washington D.C. on May 26.
The annual event honors the men and women in the military and singing in the event was good fit for Jessica as his father was also a member of the US military.
Jessica Sanchez, wearing a full-length blue gown (very reminiscent of her American Idol best performance) also rendered her favorite Idol performance, The Prayer during the said event. Another Idol alum, Chris Daughtry performed in the memorial day concert, singing his famous Home. Other performers in the event include Grammy winner Natalie Cole and Trace Adkins.
