Ogie Alcasid Transfers to TV-5 | Will Wife Regine Velasquez Follow Suit and Leave GMA Network?

Comedian and singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid is leaving GMA-7, his home for 18 years, to transfer the country's number 3 network TV-5, entertainment website PEP.ph reported on Wednesday.

Ogie Alcasid Transfers to TV-5

According to the report, Ogie Alcasid met with GMA Network executives last week to tell them his decision of switching networks. Ogie said that the conversation went well and that GMA-7 big boss Felipe Gozon appreciated his honesty.

Meanwhile, GMA Network has released its official statement regarding Ogie Alcasid's transfer to TV-5. The statement reads:

"As Ogie Alcasid moves on to explore new grounds, GMA Network, his home for almost two decades, wishes him all the best. We thank him for being a part of the Network's success all these years.

"His achievements as a singer, songwriter, comedian, host and actor make Ogie the icon that he is now. And the Kapuso Network is proud to have been with him throughout this journey."

Even without prior confirmation on Ogie's decision, rumors abound said that his wife Regine Velasquez will follow him in the Kapatid network once her contract with GMA-7 expires. The Asia's songbird, however, denied speculations that she will transfer while defending Ogie from bashers.

"At sino ba kasi ang nagsabi na lilipat ako ha may alam ka ba na hindi ko alam?? nakausap mo ba si MVP o si mr Gozon o si Gabby Lopez kaya?? Nakita nyo ba ako sa tv na nagsabing i'm moving??," Regine answered the basher who keeps on saying that Ogie caused Regine's downfall.

It is not clear yet what projects await Ogie in the Kapatid network but certain talks claimed that he might be one of the hosts in a new TV-5 noontime show which will replace Wowowillie after Willie's show bids goodbye this October.

My Super Kap of Bong Revilla, Toni Gonzaga and Ai Ai Delas Alas Out of MMFF 2013

Senator Bong Revilla backed out in the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival, MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino confirmed on Wednesday.

My Super Kap of Bong Revilla, Toni Gonzaga and Ai Ai Delas Alas Out of MMFF 2013

Senator Bong's 2013 MMFF entry, My Super Kap is supposed to feature him with Toni Gonzaga, Ai Ai Delas Alas and Ogie Alcasid. The movie is set to go head-to-head with movies topbilled by big stars and MMFF box office royalties like Vic Sotto, Kris Aquino, Vice Ganda. CLICK HERE to see the official entries to the 2013 MMFF.

According to a report by Mario Dumaual on TV Patrol, Senator Bong pulled out out from the list of entries for this year's festival because special effects will be meticulously handled and will need more time, so the production team is unable to meet the deadline set by the organizers.

The conflicting schedules of two of his cast members Toni Gonzaga and Ai-Ai delas Alas was also cited as the cause of the delay of the project. Toni is now shooting for her first ever team up with Piolo Pascual and is also busy with other hosting stints while Ai Ai also has other projects in line, including her movie with Marian Rivera.

There are rumors that there's also a supposed feud about the billing of their names in the poster, the reason the senator decided to cancel the project for next year.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said that the MMFF 2013 organizing committee is confident that they can find a good replacement for the movie that will also bring happiness to moviegoers come Christmas season.

Venus Raj and Shamcey Supsup Grilled on TNT; Venus Regrets Relationship with Andrei Felix?

Broadcast journalist Anthony “Tunying” grills beauty queens Venus Raj and Shamcey Supsup as he asks them daring questions about their controversial relationships this Thursday (July 25) in “Tapatan ni Tunying.”

Anthony Taberna Grills Venus Raj and Shamcey Supsup on TNT - Tapatan ni Tunying

Venus and Shamcey have certainly brought back the Philippine’s glory in the most prestigious global beauty pageant, Miss Universe. However, while both of them have become iconic beauties, their respective love life turned totally different.

Miss Universe 2011 third runner up, Shamcey, is now engaged to her two-year Filipino-Chinese boyfriend, Lloyd Lee. “I’ve waited for the right time. I’m only going to a relationship when I’m ready to settle,” said Shamcey.

The couple was even more delighted after Lloyd’s conservative family easily accepted Shamcey, despite her being non-Chinese.

Venus, meanwhile, took a 180-degree turn when Miss Universe 2010 fourth runner up ended her one-year romance with TV host, Andrei Felix last May. Speculations surfaced that they broke up because Venus’ family was against her relationship with Andrei.

“We came to the point where my siblings and I were fighting. They were asking me to choose between him and them. When I chose him, my siblings and I cut our communication for few months. I missed my family,” Venus confirmed.

In the episode, Shamcey also takes the viewers to her wedding preparations, while Venus opens the doors of her never-before seen condominium unit and her newly built house in Bicol. Venus will also answer rumors about her career, particularly why she is no longer part of “Umagang Kay Ganda” and “ASAP.”

Watch “Tapatan ni Tunying” (TNT) this Thursday (July 25), 4:15 PM on ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold. For updates, follow @TNTunying or like www.facebook.com/TNTunying.

Billy Crawford, Nikki Gil Break up: Report

Showbiz couple Nikki Gil and Billy Crawford break up reports have surfaced recently, saying that the actress-host and her international performer boyfriend of more than 4 years have called it quits.

Nikki Gil and Billy Crawford Split

"After four and a half years of being together, the high-profile couple decided to end their relationship quietly. Once touted as one of showbiz’s long enduring relationships, Billy and Nikki shocked loved ones as they broke the news to them," an article published Wednesday on popular blogsite Fashion Pulis said.

"Billy tried to save the relationship, but Nikki found it best to sever it off for their own good. In the end, it was a mutual decision," FP added.

Reports also claimed that there's no third party involved and that Nikki and Billy kinda grew tired with each other after about four and a half years of being together.

Netizens were saddened reading the news, saying that Nikki and Billy is one of the couples they look up to and predicting to be going all the way to the altar. The split was definitely a shock to many.

Nikki Gil and Billy Crawford became close since they hosted together the second season of ABS-CBN's Pinoy Dream Academy way back in 2008.

If indeed it was a mutual decision and both are still friends, maybe we can see Billy and Nikki showing up in an interview together admitting to the break up, just like what Rayver and Cristine did before. However, that could be so much to expect from the two especially now that the alleged break up is still fresh.

As for the chance of the two getting back with each other, that's for destiny to tell.

The Voice of the Philippines Battle Rounds Preview (Video)

Posted on July 23, 2013 | 3:31 PM

The Voice of the Philippines is just one episode away from the much-awaited Battle Rounds which will premiere on Sunday, July 28.  After the Blind Auditions, the next round will be called The Battles which was taped at the ABS-CBN Studio 10 (ASAP Studio) three weeks ahead of its scheduled telecast.

The Voice of the Philippines Battle Rounds

In the Battle rounds, the four superstar-coaches Sarah Geronimo, Lea Salonga, Bamboo and Apl de Ap trimmed down the number of members in their team by pairing them up in a singing showdown happening atop a stage similar to a boxing ring.

The two-day taping saw 24 battles but compared to its US and UK counterparts, The Voice of the Philippines will have a triangle fight which means that some battles will have three members in the showdown instead of just two. The triangle fight was due to a surprise twist revealed last Sunday, adding one artist per team instead of the original 12. CLICK HERE for the list of members of each team.

Watch the Battle Rounds preview below.

In all the battles, only one artist who impresses their coach will advance to the live shows which will happen at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila. The Battles will air for 7 episodes so expect the live shows to start on August 24.

The Battle rounds of The Voice PH was also made unique by the presence of each team's advisor during the battles. The "trusted advisers" (Joey Ayala for Team Bamboo, Gary Valenciano for Team Sarah, Gerard Salonga for Team Lea and Arnel Pineda for Team Apl), helped the coaches in honing their respective artists prior to the Battle rounds.
