Mnet Asian Music Awards (2012 MAMA) Winners

The 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards (2012 MAMA), the most anticipated Asian awards show in the region happened November 30 at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre. 

The 2012 MAMA, organized by Mnet Media, was attended by the hottest K-Pop artists in town including Big Bang, PSY, Super Junior, SISTAR and Wang Lee Hom with the hottest Korean top stars like Jung Woo Sung, Song Seung Heon, Song Joong Ki, Yoon Eun Hye, and Han Chae Young. Hongkong superstar Jackie Chan, rapper B.o.B, and American Idol alumnus Adam Lambert also graced the event.

Sarah Geronimo became the first Filipino to win the Best Asian Artist award (Philippines) at MAMA. She shared the award with other Asian artists from Japan, Vietnam, China and Indonesia. Meanwhile, Big Bang and SISTAR bagged the Best Male and Female Group, respectively, beating Super Junior and 2NE1.

The Daesang (3 grand awards) went to Big Bang (Artist of the Year), Super Junior (Album of the Year- Sexy Free & Single) and PSY (Song of the Year - Gangnam Style).

Sarah Geronimo Wins Best Asian Artist (Philippines) at the 2012 MAMA Awards

Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo was hailed Best Asian Artist in the Philippines during the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards (2012 MAMA). This is the first time that the MAMA Awards give the said recognition to a Filipino artist.

Sarah Geronimo has been reaping awards this year, winning in various bodies such as the 25th Aliw Awards 2012 and the 25th Awit Awards.

Aside from Sarah, winners of the Best Asian Artist Award were Agnes Monica from Indonesia, My Tam from Vietnam, Taufik Batisah from Singapore, Li Yuchun from China, AKB48 from Japan and Taiwan's Wang Leehom.

The 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards, more popularly known as the MAMA Awards is one of the major K-pop music award ceremonies being held annually, participated by well-known K-Pop artists and singers.

The event is organized by Mnet Media, one of the biggest entertainment companies in South Korea and was held annually in South Korea until in 2012 when it was brought in Macau, China. Last year, the MAMA Awards was held in Singapore.

This year, the MAMA Awards was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It was attended by K-Pop superstars including Big Bang, Super Junior, SISTAR, Wang Leehom and hot Korean stars. Adam Lambert, B.o.B and Jackie Chan also graced the festivities.
