Andi Eigenmann will be starring in a new teleserye titled Galema, the actress' mother, Jaclyn Jose confirmed over the weekend during the 29th PMPC Star Awards held at the AFP Theater in Quezon City.
Andi, who shot to stardom after portraying the twins Agua Bendita in the ABS-CBN TV series remake of Rod Santiago's classic komiks character, will again give life to another komiks classic. Galema, the daughter of Zuma, is known for having a two-headed snake wrapped around her shoulders.
Anak ni Zuma, penned by Jim Fernandez was serialized by Aliwan Komiks from 1976 to 1984, making it one of the longest running series in Philippine komiks. A movie version of the komiks characters was made in 1985, with Snooky Serna playing Galema and Max Laurel as the evil Zuma (who also had two-headed snake in his shoulders).
According to Jaclyn Jose, Andi will start filming for Galema this April. The fantasy series will be directed by box office director, Wenn V. Deramas who is also known in doing successful fantaseryes like Marina, Kampanerang Kuba and Dyosa.
Andi Eigenmann was last seen on primetime TV in the recently concluded Kahit Puso'y Masugatan, also directed by Deramas, where she starred with Iza Calzado, Jake Cuenca and Gabby Concepcion.
