Jamiel Ventosa Wins Manhunt International Philippines 2013, Succeeds June Macasaet

The finals night of Manhunt International Philippines 2013 happened October 4 at the Palacio de Maynila in Malate and Jamiel Ventosa was hailed as the winner, bagging the title of Manhunt International Philippines 2013.

The 18-year-old criminology student from Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija succeeded June Macasaet, who is also the reigning Manhunt International winner. Jamiel Ventosa, who stands at 6'2 bested 19 other candidates including heavy favorites Rommel Torres and Renz Maun, both products of Manhunt Philippines' provincial franchise in Nueva Ecija.

Jamiel Ventosa will be representing the Philippines in Beijing, China for the Manhunt International pageant set on May next year. Jamiel now joined the ranks of Bruce Quebral, Brent Javier, Marvin Raymundo and June Macasaet who got to wear the country's sash in the said international pageant.

June Macasaet, Manhunt International 2012 Winner Dethroned

Manhunt International 2012 winner June Macasaet was stripped of his national title as Manhunt Philippines 2012 days before the crowning of his successor. He was replaced by first runner up, Cris Edwin Navarro.

According to reports, the board of Prime Events Production, franchise holder of Manhunt International as well as Mister International in the Philippines, decided to dethrone June Macasaet after failure of the latter to sign a contract with them and potential sponsors declining because of June.

"Because June Macasaet, doesn't want to sign the contract with Prime Events Philippines, we don't want to give his remaining prizes. June is not happy with our decision. As a result, we don't gain any cooperation and support from him," an official statement released September 21 said.

"Manhunt Philippines 2013 is fast approaching, we need a face of the competition for the press presentation, television appearances, sponsorship, website, social media, and official activities of the competition, so Cris will take over the responsibilities," added in the statement.

It is not known whether this will affect the Manhunt International title of June, but according to the released statement, Manhunt International Organization was aware of the situation.

However, in a statement posted in Manhunt Philippines official website, the organizers clarified the dethronement issue.

"June Macasaet has not been dethroned. He [is] always our Manhunt Philippines 2012 winner. However, for some reason, he needs to be replaced by his first runner-up Cris Edwin Navarro to fulfill his obligations as national grand winner," said the statement which was posted Monday.

Manhunt Philippines 2013 will be named this October 4 at the Palacio de Maynila.

Philippines' June Macasaet Wins Manhunt International 2012

The winner of Manhunt International 2012 was revealed on November 9 at the finals held at the Scala Theatre, Siam Square in Bangkok, Thailand. Philippines' very own June Macasaet was hailed as Manhunt International 2012 succeeding China's Chen Jian Feng.

June Macasaet bested 52 gorgeous men representing different countries and territories around the  world. June Macasaet was  also hailed as the Newest Urban Male Ambassador. This is the first time that the Manhunt International sash was bestowed to a Filipino. This year has been a very good pageant year for the Philippines with our representatives entering the semifinals if not winning the crown. Prior to June's victory, Filipino transgender Kevin Balot was crowned Miss International Queen 2012 in Pattaya, Thailand (so that's two consecutive titles from our Thai neighbors).

June Macasaet is Philippines' Bet to Manhunt International 2012

Model June Macasaet from Lipa City, Batangas is the Philippine representative to the Manhunt International 2012 held in Bangkok, Thailand. The 29-year-old hunk will compete against 54 gorgeous men in the 16th edition of Manhunt International.

June Macasaet just won the local pageant last October 12 and flew to Bangkok last November 1. In an interview, he said that hard work, discipline, self confidence and faith to God were important cards right on his hands on his quest to win the said male pageant.

June joined the Century Tuna Superbods early this year and he was hailed runner-up to the eventual winner John Spainhour. With his experience in modeling and several competitions, June has a huge chance of making it to the Top 5 of Manhunt International. Standing at 6'1 and with that face and body to die for, June has it to grab the country's first ever Manhunt International sash.

Previous Philippine representatives to the said pageant include PBB alumnus Bruce Quebral (2002), model Brent Javier (2005) and former Star Magic artist Marvin Raymundo (2008).

The Manhunt International 2012 finals night will be be held at the Scala Theatre, Siam Square, Bangkok, Thailand on November 9, 2012.
