Toni Gonzaga Turns Back on John Lloyd Cruz in Sitcom 'Home Sweetie Home'

Following weeks of adjusting to their new lives, Toni Gonzaga and John Lloyd Cruz’s characters on the hit sitcom “Home Sweetie Home” have reached the point of frustration, leading them to their first conflict as husband and wife in the upcoming episode set to air this Sunday (February 23).

The couple’s problems start over a petty problem that arises when Romeo (John Lloyd Cruz) reaches the house later than usual. Julie (Toni Gonzaga), who chooses to stay up and wait for him so that they can have dinner together, finds herself disappointed when she finds out that he had already eaten before coming home. 

Even Nanay Loi (Sandy Andolong) and Daddy V (Rico Puno) have something to say about the issue, creating a problem in the whole household. 

With their families not at ease with each other, will a series of little problems be the reason Romeo and Julie’s relationship crumbles?

John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga Try Their Luck in 'Singing Bee' (January 18)

Cast members of ABS-CBN’s newest sitcom “Home Sweetie Home” John Lloyd Cruz, Toni Gonzaga, Sandy Andolong, Rico J. Puno, and Jayson Gainza take a break from comedy as they try their luck in the hit musical game show this Saturday (January 18). 

Last Saturday, “The X Factor Philippines” grand winner KZ Tandingan started her new year on a high note after she bagged the P1 million jackpot prize. [Watch KZ's winning moment here]

KZ bested fellow challengers and singers Frenchie Dy, Sitti Navarro, Duncan Ramos, and Nyoy Volante, and four-week defending champion Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago. KZ is the second millionaire for the current season of “The Singing Bee” following actress Sheryl Cruz, who also won the P1 million jackpot last December.

After KZ’s victory, “The Singing Bee” is again in search of its new champion, or new millionaire, this week since the championship seat has been unoccupied. Who among John Lloyd, Toni, Rico J, Sandy and Jayson will win and become the new defending champion? Will one of them again take home the P1 million jackpot prize?

Kapamilya network’s newest sitcom Home Sweetie Home is set to make waves this new year with the first ever television team up of John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga. The two will be playing a married couple living with their extended family.

John Lloyd and Toni will be joined by some of the country’s well-loved television stars, including Rico J Puno, Sandy Andolong, Jayson Gainza, Miles Ocampo, Clarence Delgado, Joross Gamboa, Ketchup Eusebio, Eda Nolan, Ryan Bang, Eric Nicolas, and Mitoy Yonting.

Toni Gonzaga and John Lloyd Cruz's Home Sweetie Home Premieres January 5

In the Kapamilya network’s newest sitcom that’s set to make waves as the new year kicks off, blockbuster star John Lloyd Cruz and favorite multimedia sweetheart Toni Gonzaga will be starring in a their comeback as a duo with the launch of the all-new “Home Sweetie Home”.

The two stars have long been expressing their excitement for the project’s kick-off, which has been much anticipated over the past months as John Lloyd and Toni will finally be breaking even more barriers venturing into “Home Sweetie Home”.

Toni was especially surprised to hear the news that she was to be cast in this new hilarious sitcom, excited that her and John Lloyd will be taking on television together for the first time.

“This will be our first time together on TV, so I hope everyone will get to be a part of it. I hope they enjoy,” Toni said in a report with ABS-CBN News. The last time the two shared the screen was in their side-by-side stint in the movie “My Amnesia Girl” in 2010.

Four years after, in “Home Sweetie Home,” the two will be playing the a married couple and their extended family, leading to the silly things that could happen in that situation.

ABS-CBN has released the full trailer of newest sitcom Home Sweetie Home starring John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga. The show is the second team up of JLC and Toni after My Amnesia Girl and their first on TV.

Also starring Sandy Andolong, Miles Ocampo, Clarence Delgado and Rico J. Puno with Jason Gainza, Mitoy Yonting, Joross Gamboa, Ketchup Eusebio and Eda Nolan, Home Sweetie Home will premiere January 5, 2014 after Goin' Bulilit.

Minute To Win It Premieres January 14 on ABS-CBN Prime-Tanghali

You don’t need special talents or extraordinary intelligence but only a certain level of skill to win P1 million in ABS-CBN’s new game show “Minute to Win It” that begins on Monday (Jan 14), 11 AM on ABS-CBN.

The show will give a whole new meaning to the adage “time is gold” where no effort is too small and every fraction of a second counts. It also encourages players to work hard and practice at home using everyday materials such as pencils, eggs, ping pong balls, and cards for a shot to change their lives.

Studio players only need to complete ten challenges, each under one minute, to bring home the whopping P1 million cash prize.

Host Luis Manzano is excited for his new role in the show to encourage players who are under a lot of pressure.

“The biggest challenge is backing up the player. I’ll stand by the player as much as possible. Sometimes players lose the heart to continue so I have to look for ways to build up their confidence to make them get on with the game and earn more money,” he said.

He also added, “In ‘Deal or No Deal,’ I try to be neutral between the Banker and the player. In ‘Pilipinas Got Talent,’ I serve as the contestant’s kabarkada. In ‘Minute to Win It,’ I’m a cheerer.”

Playing in the game show’s pilot episode is comedy concert queen AiAi delas Alas. Some of the games she will have to complete include running a piece of thread through the eyes of ten needles using one hand and knocking over four soda cans using a yo-yo strapped to the back of her waist. Will AiAi bring home P1 million?

Also trying out the show’s nerve-wracking yet simple games during the pilot week are Kapamilya celebrities Cristine Reyes, Rico J. Puno, Maja Salvador, Zanjoe Marudo, K Brosas, and Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup.

“Minute to Win It” made waves in the United States and around the world for its highly addictive and nerve-wracking games that challenge ordinary people to hone their skills. It has been franchised in 40 countries, including Australia, India, and the United Kingdom.

Be Careful With My Heart's Luke Lim (Jerome Ponce) and Nikki Lim (Janella Salvador) will be guesting on Sarah G Live! this Sunday, September 16. The two teen stars will be doing a  breath-taking smash-up dance number with I Do Bidoo Bidoo stars Sam Concepcion and Tippy Dos Santos.
