ABS-CBN 1st Quarter Teleseryes to Watch Out For this 2014

ABS-CBN revealed its upcoming teleseryes for the first quarter of 2014 in a trade event held Thursday night at One Esplanade, Pasay City. The trade launch was hosted by Kris Aquino and Vice Ganda.

One of the upcoming ABS-CBN primetime teleseryes to watch out for this quarter is MARS RAVELO'S DYESEBEL starring Anne Curtis, Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby, Andi Eigenmann, Dawn Zulueta, Gabby Concepcion, Eula Valdes, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Bangs Garcia, Neil Coleta, David Chua, Young JV, Markki Stroem, Nico Antonio, Bodie Cruz, Erin Ocampo, Ogie Diaz and Ai Ai Delas Alas.

Another series coming this March is the period action-drama IKAW LAMANG starring Coco Martin, Kim Chiu, Julia Montes and Jake Cuenca with Cherie Gil, Ronaldo Valdez, Cherry Pie Picache, Tirso Cruz III, John Estrada,  Angel Aquino, Meryll Soriano, Daria Ramirez, Spanky Manikan, Ronnie Lazaro and Lester Llansang.

Also watch out for Bea Alonzo's most challenging role to date in SANA BUKAS PA ANG KAHAPON with Albert Martinez, Dina Bonnevie, Tonton Gutierrez, Maricar Reyes, Michelle Vito, Francis Magundayao and two of of the most respected veteran actors in the country, Ms. Anita Linda and Ms. Susan Roces.

Julia Barretto will be launched  to full stardom in MIRA BELLA where she will be paired with Enrique Gil and Sam Concepcion. Also part of the series are Pokwang, Mylene Dizon, John 'Sweet' Lapus, Mika dela Cruz and James Blanco.

Meanwhile, summer afternoons will get even hotter with the premiere of MOON OF DESIRE starring desirable actors JC de Vera, Meg Imperial, Dominic Roque and Ellen Adarna. Also joining the Kapamilya Gold series are Carmi Martin, Perla Bautista, Veyda Inoval, Beauty Gonzales, Franco Daza, Djanin Cruz and newcomer Miko Raval.

'Si Ser Chief, Si Maya at ang Teleserye' Airs June 16 on ABS-CBN | Cheche Lazaro Presents

Broadcast journalist Cheche Lazaro looks into the enduring fondness of Filipinos for television drama series or teleseryes then and now in another special episode of the documentary “Cheche Lazaro Presents” titled “Si Ser Chief, Si Maya at Ang Teleserye” that airs this Sunday (June 16).

One of the teleseryes that has captured the hearts of viewers is “Be Careful With My Heart.” The series, whose story revolves around a widower and businessman “Richard Lim” or “Ser Chief” and nanny-turned-flight attendant Maya dela Rosa (Jodi Sta. Maria), remains a top-rater since it premiered in July 2012. Ser Chief and Maya’s love story and charming chemistry have captivated audiences, while scenes of the kilig-serye have consistently trended on social media.

“Be Careful With My Heart” has changed the habits of viewers in the country and has also touched viewers abroad through The Filipino Channel. The show’s appeal cuts across ages, gender, social classes and race. In fact, Malaysia’s first commercial TV station, TV 3 has reportedly expressed a strong interest in acquiring the series.

But before “Be Careful With My Heart,” other Kapamilya programs have already made a buzz in the international scene, particulary in Malaysia where “Magkaribal,” “Prinsesa ng Banyera,” “Dahil May Isang Ikaw,” “Impostor,” “Imortal,” “Budoy,” “Iisa Pa Lamang,” and “Mara Clara” have been aired. Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales’ “Pangako Sa’yo,” meanwhile, became a hit in Cambodia.

Aside from Malaysia and Cambodia, some Kapamilya teleseryes were also aired in other Asian countries such as Brunei, Myanmar, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Korea at Taiwan.
