Kapamilya actress Megan Young was crowned as Miss World Philippines 2013 at the Miss World Philippines Grand Coronation Night held at the Grand Ballroom of the Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City.
Megan Lynne Young bested 24 other lovely candidates to take home the night's most coveted title and the chance to represent the Philippines in the 2013 Miss World Pageant in Jakarta and Bali, Indonesia on September 28.

"Miss World Philippines is selfless and to be selfless, you need to have a heart. If I win Miss World Philippines, I would give myself wholeheartedly to be of service. Beauty with a heart," Megan said during the final Q&A.

"It's something I've always wanted to do, so I don't want to have any regrets when I get older, thinking, 'I should have done this, I should have done that,'" Megan told ABS-CBN news in an interview.
"I have the heart to do it. Miss World embodies the beauty in giving, and I think I have a lot to offer when it comes to that," she added when asked why she deserves to win the pageant.

Megan was a finalist of the second season of GMA-7's reality-based artista search StarStruck way back in 2005. She then became a Kapuso contract star before transferring to rival ABS-CBN. She later become one of the housemates in Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2.
Megan played supporting roles in Kapamilya shows like Kokey, I Love Betty La Fea, and Rubi before snatching a lead role in Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Hiyas opposite PBB batch mate Zanjoe Marudo. She also appeared as a video jock in Channel [V] Philippines and as a host in Us Girls and ASAP 18.
