Anak TV Awards Honors ABS-CBN Shows, Personalities; Kapamilya Dominates

ABS-CBN once again dominated the Anak TV Awards for its personalities and programs that are certified child-friendly as voted by parents, teachers, non-government organizations, and other sectors of society.

Kapamilya personalities ruled the roster of male and female Makabata stars based on the Boto Ko ‘To survey that asked adult respondents to vote for local TV personalities they found most admirable.

Leading the winners with Hall of Fame awards were popstar Sarah Geronimo and broadcast journalist Bernadette Sembrano who consistently topped the survey in the past eight years. The two join ABS-CBN president and CEO Charo Santos, Angel Locsin, Jodi Sta. Maria, Judy Ann Santos, Karen Davila, Kathryn Bernardo and Kim Chiu in the top ten list of female Makabata stars.

Anthony Taberna, Coco Martin, Daniel Padilla, Kim Atienza, Noli de Castro, Richard Yap, and Ted Failon were included in the roster of male Makabata stars who are deemed as the most wholesome and worth emulating by the youth today.

ABS-CBN programs “TV Patrol,” “Be Careful With My Heart,” “Matanglawin,” “Ina, Kapatid, Anak,” “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” “Rated K,” “Juan dela Cruz,” and “It’s Showtime,” on the other hand, were named as the country’s Most Well-Liked TV Programs for 2013.

Meanwhile, the Anak TV Seal, which is a seal of good housekeeping on Philippine television, was awarded to programs deemed “wholesome” and “generally child-safe” by the jurors. Among the Kapamilya programs recognized this year are “Animazing Tales,” “Be Careful With My Heart,” “I Got It,” “Matanglawin,” “Ni Hao Kailan,” “Salamat Dok,” “Wansapanataym,” and “Why Not.”

The network’s regional programs “Agri Tayo Dito,” “Bayanijuan,” “Bida Kapampangan,” “MagTV na Atin To (Baguio),” “MagTV na Ato Ni (CDO),” MagTV na (Cebu),” MagTV na (Oragon),” “MagTV na Sadya Ta (Davao),” and “Salandigan” also received the coveted seals.

Overall, ABS-CBN took home a total of 41 accolades from Anak TV Awards including 17 Anak TV seals this year.

The Anak TV Awards is an annual national recognition given by the Southeast Asian Foundation for Children and Television honoring child-sensitive programs and personalities in the Philippines. This year’s awarding ceremony was held at the Soka Gakkai Building in Timog, Quezon City.

The 2013 Anak TV Makabata Star Awardees have been named and Kapamilya stars dominated the list with 14 out of the 20 personalities in this year's list. The awardees will be honored on December 12 at the annual Anak TV Awards.

An advocacy of the Anak TV Inc, this years list stemmed from a national survey of the most favored, most child-sensitive TV personalities. Elevated to the Hall of Fame this year are Sarah Geronimo, Jessica Soho and Bernadette Sembrano.

Among those who are already elevated to the Hall of Fame are Julius Babao, Korina Sanchez, Gary Valenciano, Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco.

Kim Chiu Vows to Continue Being Good Role Model to Filipino Kids

ABS-CBN’s primetime princess and lead star of top-rating family drama series “Ina Kapatid Anak” Kim Chiu is extremely happy with her newest recognition from Anak TV Seal Awards as she was hailed as one of 2012’s favorite female ‘Makabata Stars.’

“I am so happy and thankful for this award,” said Kim. “Rest assured that I will continue to be a good role model to the Filipino youth.”

Unlike in real life, wherein she is showered with great news, Kim’s role in “Ina Kapatid Anak,” Celyn, on the other hand, is dealing with certain issues concerning her family and close friends. Aside from the extreme protectiveness of her mother Teresa (Cherry Pie Picache), Celyn is bothered with her made up relationship with Ethan (Enchong Dee), the boyfriend of her bestfriend Margaux (Maja Salvador). ABS-CBN Stars and Programs Dominate Anak TV Awards 2012 (Winners)

ABS-CBN once again earned the most seals of approval from parents, teachers, NGO’s and other sectors of society for its child-safe programs and worth-emulating TV personalities in the recently held Anak TV Awards.

The Anak TV Seal, which is a seal of good housekeeping on Philippine television not found anywhere else in the world, is awarded to programs deemed as “wholesome” and “generally child safe” by the jurors.

ABS-CBN’s regional programs dominated the program awardees namely “Arangkada,” “Bida Kapampangan,” “Derecho,” ”Gandang Umaga Kapamilya,” ”Halad sa Kapamilya- Cebu,” ”Maayong Buntag Mindanao,” ”Magandang Umaga South Central Mindanao,” ”Mag TV na Amiga- Bacolod,” ”Mag TV na Atin ’To- Baguio,” ”Mag TV na Ato Ni- CDO,” ”Mag TV na Oragon- Bicol,” ”Mag TV na Sadya Ta- Davao.” “Marhay na Aga Kapamilya,” “Naimbag Nga Morning Kapamilya,” “Sikat Ka Iloilo,” and “The Morning Show-Bacolod.”

ABS-CBN shows “Ako ang Simula,” “Go Diego Go,” “I Got It,” “Junior Masterchef,” “Matanglawin,” “Rated K,” “Salamat Dok,” “The Penguins of Madagascar,” and “Why Not?” also received the coveted seal.

ABS-CBN personalities, on the other hand, also dominated the roster of male and female Makabata stars based on the Boto Ko ‘To survey that surveyed adult voters who among local TV personalities their households held in high esteem.

Actor Coco Martin topped the list of male Makabata stars followed by Boy Abunda, Gerald Anderson, Kim Atienza, Noli De Castro, Ted Failon, Zaijian Jaranilla, Vhong Navarro, Anthony Taberna, and Richard Yap.

For the female personalities, the national jury found Kim Chiu, Anne Curtis, Karen Davila, Sarah Geronimo, Toni Gonzaga, Angel Locsin, Judy Ann Santos, Bernadette Sembrano, and Jodi Sta. Maria as the most “credible, wholesome, and worth emulating by the youth.”

Meanwhile, seven out of the top ten Most Well-Liked TV Programs in the country for 2012 were from ABS-CBN. Primetime newscast “TV Patrol,” which was also recognized recently by the Philippine Movie Press Club as Best Newscast in this year’s Star Awards for Television, clinched the top spot followed by phenomenal drama series “Walang Hanggan.” Also included in the top ten are “Matanglawin,” “It’s Showtime,” “Be Careful with My Heart,” “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” and “Princess and I.”

ABS-CBN emerged as the most awarded network in this year’s Anak TV with 25 seals versus GMA7 with 15 seals and TV5 with only nine seals.

The 11th Anak TV seal awarding ceremony was held in the Lord’s Flock Sanctuary inWest Avenue,Quezon City hosted by Anak TV spokesperson Mikee Cojuangco Jaworski.

The 2012 Anak TV Makabata Star Awardees have been named and Kapamilya actor Coco Martin topped the list among male awardees while Kapuso anchor Jessica Soho grabbed the female counterpart. The awardees will be honored on December 4 at the annual Anak TV Awards.

Surprisingly, John Lloyd Cruz, Piolo Pascual, Aga Muhlach, Luis Manzano and Tintin Bersola-Babao, who have always been favorites did not make this year's list. Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria debuted on the list obviously due to the success of their light morning series, Be Careful With My Heart.

Julius Babao, Korina Sanchez, Gary Valenciano, Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco are among those who were already elevated to the Hall of Fame last year.
