ABS-CBN's 'Princess and I' Behind-the-Scenes Footage (TV Patrol)

Are you excited for ABS-CBN's Princess and I grand premiere? Well, you just need to wait at least for a few days. Princess and I is set to premiere this April 16 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida. The said teleserye which stars Kathryn Bernardo, Enrique Gil, Gretchen Barretto, Albert Martinez, Daniel Padilla, Lara Quigaman and Khalil Ramos shoot some scenes in the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Bhutan's picturesque and culture fitted the series' description of Yangdon, the fictional kingdom setting indicated in the story of the said teleserye.

The whole cast was just amazed with the beauty of Bhutan and viewers will surely feel the same way as this will be a first in Philippine TV.

In their Bhutan shoot, the series' lead, Kathryn Bernardo was even mistaken as a Bhutanese due to her features which according to report resembles the real Bhutan princess.

“Sabi nila may ibang features ako na mukhang Bhutanese. Sana makatulong ‘yun para mas ma-appreciate ng tao ‘yung show na ginawa namin,” Kathryn told ABS-CBN news.

The story of Princess and I will revolve around Mikai, a simple girl from Manila who happens to be a princess from a far away kingdom. She will be close to three men, one of which is the Crown Prince, without knowing that she has that Royal blood.

Kathryn Bernardo Much Closer To Enrique Gil After Bhutan Shoot

Hottest teen actress Kathryn Bernardo revealed that their shooting of upcoming teleserye Princess and I in Bhutan made her closer to one of her leading men, Enrique Gil.

Both Kathryn and Enrique flew to Bhutan together with Gretchen Barretto, Albert Martinez and the staff and crew of Princess and I where they had a very good bonding on the set.

According to Kathryn in a PEP interview, she got to know more about Enrique and the staff during their Bhutan shoot since they were all together day-in, day-out.

"Sa taping, talagang every day kami magkakasama, maghapon. So, mas nakikilala mo talaga iyong bawat tao, iyong mga staff... ayun, mas nakilala ko talaga si Quen sa taping na 'yon."

Kathryn and Enrique with the rest of the cast and crew arrived on Manila last March 20 after shooting in Bhutan for more or less two weeks. She immediately went to Antipolo to celebrate with Julia Montes on the latter's birthday party held in Julia's newly acquired house.

Kathryn and Enrique, on their 'Way Back Home' from Bhutan

After their shoot in Bhutan for the teleserye Princess and I, Kathryn Bernardo and Enrique Gil are now heading home. The whole Princess and I team had first their stop over in Bangkok, Thailand before flying back to the Philippines.

Daniel Padilla not Jealous Over Kathryn's Closeness with Enrique

ABS-CBN's future hearthrob, Daniel Padilla is quick to answer that he is not jealous over Enrique and Kathryn being linked to each other. DJ (Daniel's nickname) admitted that he had a crush on Kathryn but to ask whether he is jealous or not on KathQuen team up is absurd according to him since Kathryn is not yet his girlfriend. 

Here is what he told Vice Ganda on his guesting in the latter's GGV last March 18.

“Hindi ko siya pinagse-selosan. Wala naman. Bakit kapag pinag-uusapan para namang girlfriend ko na si Kathryn, wala pa naman.”

Meanwhile, Daniel's mom, Karla Estrada said in an interview that she's fine with Daniel being vocal with his feelings over Kathryn Bernardo and even approves of Kathryn to be his son's girlfriend. 

Here's Karla's thoughts about Daniel courting Kathryn:

"Okay naman kasi I think mas lalaki yun pagka-vocal ka sa feelings mo sa isang babae. Yun ang sa pananaw ko. And I think he's ready na sa relationship. Pero 16 lang siya so hindi ko na kailangan i-elaborate kung talagang reading ready ba siya ‘di ba? Si Kathryn hindi ako sure kasi bata pa talaga at saka babae yun di ba so yung family niya hindi naman strict pero protective lang.”  

 “I like her [Kathryn]. I think she’s a sweet girl and masunurin naman siya sa magulang.”

Kathryn and Enrique are currently in Bhutan to shoot some scenes for their upcoming teleserye, Princess and I which according to rumors will premiere this April 2012 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida.
