Slater Young Lands First TV Commercial (Smart C+)

PBB Unlimited Big Winner Slater Young finally had his very first TV commercial via Smart C+, a refreshing drink with Vitamin C.

The TVC showed Slater Young walking while talking the benefits from the Smart C+ fruit juice drink. Slater sounded like he's pro at convincing people to buy something. See?

As for Slater's TV projects, it has been reported that he will be part of 2 ABS-CBN teleseryes - Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto which will premiere July 16 and John Lloyd and Bea's reunion teleserye, A Beautiful Affair with his former housemate, Carlo Romero. There were also talks that he will be part of the return of award-winning travel show, Trip Na Trip produced by Bayan Productions.

Bench Releases 'Benchingko' Trailer in Celebration of its 25th Anniversary

Global brand Bench has just released a trailer for their 'Benchingko' anniversary salvo. In line with its 25th anniversary, Bench will be producing short films under 'Benchingko Films' that will star the biggest names in Philippine movies.

The newly-released 'Benchingko' trailer featured movie stars and celebrities which include Cong. Lucy Torres-Gomez described as beautiful, Coco Martin as intense, Bella Flores as legendary, Lovi Poe as sexy and Piolo Pascual as hot. Ben Chan himself also appeared in the trailer.

The video caption says: 

Coming soon: Bench celebrates 25 years of style in short films starring the biggest stars in Philippine cinema.

KFC Cheese Top Burger TV Ad Parody on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

ABC's longest running late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! featured a spoof of KFC Philippines' Cheese Top Burger, the first and only cheese topped bun burger.

Last week, KFC Philippines unveiled their newest product, that is KFC Streetwise Cheese Top Burger - a fried chicken patty sandwich with garlic Parmesan dressing and a square slice of cheese atop the bun. 

The said KFC Philippines product created online buzz. Netizens have mixed reactions about this KFC Cheese Top Burger, with some saying that its an innovation that must be tried and that it is a genius marketing strategy. Others felt that it was some kind of weird and the idea of putting the cheese on top of the burger is dumb and stupid.

The buzz drew the attention of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and run a spoof of the KFC Cheese Top Burger on the show in Filipino. Watch the funny KFC Cheese Top Burger parody featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Zac Efron in the Philippines Soon for Penshoppe

It's confirmed!

Zac Efron is coming to the Philippines to honor his Penshoppe ensdorsement deal.

Zac Efron was confirmed to be part of Penshoppe's international endorsers after the local brand signed Thai heartthrob Mario Maurer and Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick. Penshoppe, which is dedicated to bring over hottest international endorsers call them the Penshoppe All Stars.

Zac Efrons's inclusion in the league of Penshoppe All stars was way ahead of Leighton Meester and Ian Somerhalder's endorsement deals and yet, Zac Efron was the last to visit the country. Both Leighton and Ian had come to the Philippines either to shoot for their campaign or grace a Penshoppe fashion event.

The good news was shared by PR Asia, saying that Zac Efron is coming to Manila soon.

"UPDATE: Zac Efron CONFIRMED to visit the Philippines. Says he wants to learn waterski and can't wait to meet his Filipino fans #news"

Are you excited to see Zac Efron in person? It seems that Penshoppe is indeed on for a big rivalry with Bench which is also acquiring international stars as endorser.

Liam Hemsworth is Bench Newest Endorser!

The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth signed with Bench as its newest international endorser, Ricky Lo of The Philippine Star confirmed.

Liam Hemsworth will join A-list stars such as Joe Jonas, Bruno Mars, Michael Trevino (Vampire Diaries), Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars), David Archuleta and K-Pop superstars Siwon and Donghae as the global brand's recently acquired international models. 

The report also stated that Bench big boss Ben Chan was in Los Angeles last week to finalize the contract with Liam Hemsworth and to supervise the pictorial for the bench posters and billboards.

Liam is the youngest of the three Hemsworth brothers in Hollywood, the other two are Luke and Chris Hemsworth, the latter playing the titular role of Thor in The Avengers. Before starring as Gale Hawthorne in the hit film adaptation The Hunger Games, Liam starred together with Miley Cyrus in the 2010 film The Last Song. Miley and Liam are now engaged (read story here).

Before Liam Hemsworth was confirmed as a new Bench endorser, it was also reported by Ricky Lo's Funfare that a K-Pop superstar will join the rest of Bench global endorsers. The clues, including the picture posted in the site pointed to Lee Min Ho (see related article here).

With more and more big stars signing up for Bench, the competition is just getting hotter as rival Penshoppe is also acquiring equally famous celebrities for their campaigns.

Video: Better and Longer 'It's More Fun in the Philippines' Campaign

Check out this new video of It's More Fun in the Philippines which is now getting rounds on social networking sites. The video is a longer and better version of the Department of Tourism's It's More Fun in the Philippines TVC ad campaign which premiered on CNN last April.

This new and improved version still uses a remix of Duck Sauce's Barbra Streisand with rap of It's More Fun in the Philippines. The said video features a bit of history, culture, resources and festivities in the country as well as the islands we have. 

Pacman and Dingdong Dantes were also included in a section before featuring the repeated names of places, animals and food (I honestly waited  for the term "major major" to appear but it didn't).

Lee Min Ho is Newest Bench Endorser?

Lee Min Ho for Bench, seriously? 

Global brand Bench has been reported to sign another Korean star as its newest Bench international endorser. After getting Super Junior's Siwon and Donghae as it's K-POP models, it is now abuzz that Korean superstar Lee Min Ho will also join the roster of Bench endorsers.

In a Philippine Star article posted June 15, it was confirmed that Bench has signed another popular Korean actor as its newest endorser. The said K-Pop actor "enjoys a huge following in Asia, the Philippines included, and he has starred in several Koreanovelas aired in the country."

Although Philstar's Funfare is not at liberty yet to reveal the identity of the Bench's newest K-Pop endorser, clues were pointing to Lee Min Ho. Even the censored picture posted in the site had resemblance to Lee Min Ho.

Lee Min Ho became popular in the Philippines playing Gu Jun Pyo in Boys Over Flowers, a hit Korean remake of the popular Manga, Hana Yori Dango. He then starred in two other Koreanovelas aired on ABS-CBN, Perfect Match (Personal Preference) and the action-packed City Hunter which enjoyed high ratings in the country.

Bench has just concluded the deal in Seoul last Monday, capped by a pictorial for the brand’s billboards and posters, according to Funfare. So let's just wait for the official announcement whether it is really Lee Min Ho as the newest Bench endorser.

The two Suju members, Choi Siwon and Lee Donghae signed up with global clothing brand Bench last March to join the ever-growing family of Bench international endorsers like Bruno Mars, David Archuleta and Lucy Hale.

Local clothing brand Folded and Hung has just released its latest denim collection with their 2012 "Dare Me To Denim" campaign featuring Anne Curtis.

Folded and Hung's latest denim innovation, spray-painted denim will be launched as this season's hot item with Anne Curtis' newest F&H billboard. The brand, according to StyleBible.ph, "uses the sophisticated white jeans as a base, then paints them with delicious colors like maroon, royal blue, and black, in skinny and slim silhouettes."

BAYO to Replace 'What's Your Mix?' Campaign

Following backlash and criticisms it has received from netizens, blogs and social networking sites, Bayo is now decided to cancel the controversial "What's your mix?" ad campaign which features Filipinas of mix ethnicities.

In an interview with ABS-CBN news, Bayo’s vice president for product research and development Lyn Agustin said that they will be conceptualizing  "a better and more sensitive campaign, more sensitive to the big issues."  She also apologized on behalf of the company for unintentionally offending people.

Here is Bayo's official statement (via Rappler.com):

We, at BAYO, deeply apologize for the message our campaign — “What’s Your Mix?” — has unintentionally conveyed. We would like to express our regrets to those who have been offended or felt discriminated against.  

Our company and our partners have always taken pride in being pro-Filipino as we continue to celebrate our uniqueness and achievements. We believe that being a Filipino will always make you 100% beautiful. It is unfortunate that this message got lost along the way. 

We thank everyone who has shown support for our thrust of promoting Filipino beauty, talent, and creativity.

Agustin also said that they will bring down the Bayo "What's your mix?" ads displayed in some boutiques and replace them with a new concept.

The Bayo 'What's your mix?' campaign was criticized by several Filipinos for being "demeaning" and suggesting that those who have mixed races are superior than the pure-blooded Pinoy.

Hunk actor-recording artist Xian Lim is featured in the newest MINT Autumn 2012 campaign. Xian is looking fresh and hot (without taking his shirts off) in this campaign photos taken by Jopet Sy. Xian's styling was done by Stella Sy.

Aside from Xian Lim, another hot Kapamilya property, Gerald Anderson is also featured in the Mint Autumn 2012 campaign (Check out Gerald's Mint campaign photos here).
