The Reunion: An Eraserheads Tribute Concert Set on July 27

Star Records levels up the 'E-Heads experience' for music fans across generations and slates a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of the country’s best rocks bands and solo artists to celebrate the timeless music of the iconic Filipino pop-rock band The Eraserheads via “The Reunion: An Eraserheads Tribute Concert," which is set to happen on July 27 (Friday), 5pm, at the Trinoma Activity Center.

"The Reunion” concert will pay tribute to the anthemic songs of Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala, and Marcus Adoro through the new sound to be performerd by Callalily, 6CycleMind with Eunice of Gracenote, Hilera, Itchyworms, Mayonnaise, Tanya Markova, Johnoy Danao, Jay Durias, Vin Dancel, and Ney Dimaculangan.

Under the production of Star Records, “The Reunion: An Eraserheads Tribute Concert" is a pays homage to the accolade priceless contribution of the band to the Philippine music history and to the country’s culture as a whole. The event is eyed to be a celebration not only of the generation who grew up to the music of The Eraserheads but also to the youth of today who are discovering the greatness of the band that revived Pinoy rock in 1990’s.

The concert is exclusive to fans who will buy the “The Reunion: An Eraserheads Tribute Album" in various AstroPlus or AstroVision stores during the set pre-selling period that is from July 7 to July 27. Albums will also be sold on the day of the event. To qualify as audience, the album buyer must present the official receipt as proof of purchase on the day of the concert. Maroon 5 is all set to stage their third concert in Manila this September 18! 

Following their sold-out Philippine concerts in 2008 and 2011, the popular pop rock band will perform again at the Smart Araneta Coliseum this September 18 as part of their Overexposed world tour in line with the promo of their fourth studio album Overexposed which will be released on June 26.

Jessica Sanchez Solo Concert in the Philippines Not True Says Promoter

Early reports claiming that American Idol 2012 runner-up Jessica Sanchez will be having a solo concert tour  in the Philippines in October was refuted by the 16-year-old singer’s promoter.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported on Tuesday that Jessica's 5-city concert tour in the Philippines was already in the bag but in a story published on the newspaper's website on Thursday, the Inquirer said Renen de Guia, head of the Ovation Productions, had sent them an e-mail denying Sanchez’s supposed series of solo shows.

Quoting the exact e-mail from de Guia to Inquirer’s reporter, he said: 

“There is no truth to the news item you put out the other day (June 19) in the Inquirer on Jessica Sanchez’ performing in 5 cities in the Philippines after American Idol. Jessica’s management company 19 Entertainment has tweeted the following: ‘Contrary to many false reports, @JSanchezAI11′s ONLY performance in the Philippines will be 9/21 in Manila as part of the Idol Live Tour.’”

The Inquirer also cited another source who said the person “who gave the go-signal to break the news that Sanchez’s Philippine tour has been confirmed may have acted in haste.”

“It was a premature announcement. There are no confirmed dates yet, although there are indeed negotiations ongoing. The Philippine tour may or may not happen,” the second source told the Inquirer.

Jessica Sanchez Solo Concert in the Philippines in the Bag, Source Says

Fil-Mexican Jessica Sanchez will be having a solo concert in five Philippine cities right after the American Idol 2012 Live! Tour in Manila on September 21 according to a report by Philippine Daily Inquirer, June 19.

The Inquirer article said that a local promoter, Radio High headed by veteran promoter Francis Lumen was able to sign Jessica Sanchez for a series of shows in the Philippines.

The Inquirer wrote:

A source on Tuesday told the Inquirer that new FM station Radio High 105.9 will bring in the petite 16-year-old Filipino-American singing sensation for a solo concert tour in October in Manila, Bataan (her mother’s hometown), Baguio, Cebu and Davao.

The Inquirer source also added that another show to be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila is still under negotiation.

Jessica Sanchez' Idol Live Tour together with the American Idol 2012 Top 10 will be her first overseas trip, and it is amazing that it will be in her mother's native country. The American Idol 2012 Live Tour will kick off on July 6 in Detroit before conquering several states in the US, then Canada, Belgium, France and the Philippines as it's last stop, the only Asian country to be included in the list.

Pop icon Madonna exposed her breast showing her nipples in a recent concert in Istanbul, Turkey last Saturday. Madonna, who is already 53 years old surprised the crowd with a breast exposure in the middel of her performance of Human Nature.

Madonna's "surprised treat" made the fans go wild. Her stripteasing on stage was well-received by about 55, 000 people who watched her 'Nipplegate II' concert. She also had the word "No Fear" temporarily tattooed  on her back, a loud statement after her daring spectacle.

After pulling the right cap of her bra and showing off her breast and nipples, Madonna put her hand down her pants then sung her megahit, Like A Virgin to the delight of roaring fans.

Jessica Sanchez to Visit Philippines this September with American Idol 11 Top 10

American Idol Season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez will be coming to her mother's native country this September as she take part in the American Idol 2012 Live Tour which will have it's last stop in the Philippines.

Jessica Sanchez, whose mother Editha hails from Bataan, will be performing together with the American Idol 2012 Top 10 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on September 21, 2012. This was confirmed by Ovation Productions to The Philippine Star.

The Philippines is lucky enough to witness another American Idol Live Tour after last year's 2011 Idol Tour where Thia Megia, another American Idol finalist with Filipino roots participated in.

American Idol Season 11 Top 10 all set for the American Idol 2012 Live Tour

According to reports, American Idol 2012 winner Phillip Phillips who is now recuperating from his kidney operation will be ready to participate in the Idol Live tour as it kicks-off in July. By September, we can expect the presence of Phillip in the Philippines, the only country outside North America which is included in the two-month summer tour.

Meanwhile, Jessica Sanchez before singing the US national anthem at the Pacquiao-Bradley fight met with President Benigno Aquino III  in Los Angeles, California before PNoy returned to Manila from his US trip. Jessica expressed on Twitter how honored she was to met the Philippine president, who has been supporting her all through her Idol journey, together with the Filipino fans.

Lady Gaga wore 3 Filipiniana-inspired terno for some of her numbers but this does not mean she behaved like Maria Clara on stage. Lady Gaga still performed the controversial Judas song soon after she defied critics declaring "I'm not a creature of your government, Manila."

Lady Gaga also performed the gay anthem, Born This Way wearing a yellow terno-inspired dress made by Italian designer Giorgio Armani.

Comedian Vice Ganda and singer Angeline Quinto will train the teen housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 4” to prepare them for their weekly task and fund-raising event dubbed the “Build a Big Dream Concert” this Friday (May 18) at the PBB eviction hall.

Sarah Geronimo Goes Glam and Sensual in 24/SG Birthday Concert

Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo is now ready to go sensual and glamorous in her upcoming birthday concert. Dubbed as 24/SG, the dream birthday concert is happening at the Big Dome on July 7, few days before Sarah turns 24 years old.

24/SG is directed by Paul Basinillo with musical direction by Louie Ocampo 

Now a matured young lady, the Popstar Princess has decided to spice up her concert by bringing out her glam side as the Concert Queen of the New Generation.

Different from her weekly musical variety show Sarah G. Live, 24/SG is preparing for a grander and greater musical production for the Popstar Princess. 

Sarah explained, "Dream concert po kasi siya. So may mga concept po kami na talagang malaki, malaki talaga parang mapapagastos po tayo. Pero siyempre gusto po talaga namin maibigay, ma-offer yung the best para sa audience. Dapat different po talaga siya sa show po namin na Sarah G. Live, kasi parang mini-concert na nga po yun."

24/SG will put in a fantasy or fairytale-like theme for Sarah's first-ever birthday concert. "So may pagka-fantasy po and fairytale-like. Mas visual po," the Popstar Princess said.

Though no final guests were announced, Sarah however revealed that the concert will be filled with pop songs, some of which are from her upcoming album. "Yung line-up ng songs, siyempre yung pop po. May mga sing and dance na rin po ako. Yun po, I'll be doing an album po so yung baka maikanta ko po sa concert yung mga songs po from the album."

This time, Sarah is definitely hands-on in creating the 24/SG concert. The Popstar Princess puts a personal touch in every detail of the show. "Sumasama po ako sa mga meetings. Pag may mga gusto po ako, may mga i-inject sa mga ideas nila, ideas ko or sa songs."

Sarah Geronimo's much-awaited concert 24/SG is also a birthday gift of Sarah to her fans. In an interview with ABS-CBN news during the pictorial for the said concert, Sarah said that everything now is on a planning stage and they are very busy preparing for this big birthday concert.

“Wala pa pong final na lineup ng guests pero inaayos na po ang lineup ng songs. Sana po abangan niyo ang aking birthday concert. Magte-24 years old na po ako on July 7 at the Araneta Coliseum."

Sarah is also set to release another album which will be released soon, in time for her birthday.

Boy Abunda Wants To Produce Jessica Sanchez' Concert

King of Talk Boy Abunda admitted that he wanted to produce if ever a Philippine concert for Fil-Mexican-American Jessica Sanchez who is now on tight competition in American Idol Season 11. Jessica now belongs to the Top 6 of American Idol 2012 and striving to get into the season 11 finals come May 23rd.

Last Sunday, April 22 on The Buzz, Boy Abunda expressed his admiration for Jessica and confessed that if given the chance, he would like to be the producer of Jessica Sanchez' Philippine concert.

"Hindi pa ito alam ni Kris (Aquino) pero sana ay mabigyan po kami ng pagkakataon na mai-produce ang concert ni Jessica Sanchez dito sa Pilipinas," Boy Abunda said.

"She's really brilliant. Alam niyo po mga kaibigan I've seen so many contests but Jessica Sanchez is one of the best singers na aking narinig sa buong buhay ko. Ang galing,"  he added.

Tito Boy was very proud with the achievements of Jessica that he even campaigns for the Fil-Mexican Idol contestant to become the very first Asian-Latina winner of the hit US talent search. 

"Iboto po natin si Jessica Sanchez sa 'American Idol.' Huwag po tayong papayag na hindi manalo ang batang ito because I think she is one of the best singers in the world, so hinihikayat natin ang ating mga kababayan sa Amerika at territories sa States, cast your votes for Jessica Sanchez," Boy ended.

It can be recalled that Boy Abunda and bestfriend Kris Aquino also produced the Philippine concert of Half-Pinoy half-Puertorican sensation, Bruno Mars last year.

Sam Milby Joins Anna Maria and Corbin Bleu in Concert

Actor Sam Milby will be part of Anna Maria Perez de Tagle's benefit concert on May 7 on board the Hornblower Hybrid, a cutting-edge boat by the world-famous Hornblower Cruises & Events. The said concert, which will benefit Anna Maria's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, will also feature High School Musical star, Corbin Bleu (Chad Danforth) and Anna Maria's other Godspell musical co-stars.

The said benefit concert will have topnotch musician Sonny Paladino (High School Musical, Billy Elliot) as musical director. According to him, fans can expect a mixture of pop and musical theater from the said concert. 

Sam Milby has been in New York for about 2 months now to for a series of auditions to try his luck in Hollywood. The Fil-Am actor became friends with Anna Maria (who is the granddaughter of Sylvia La Torre, the country's Queen of Kundiman) two years ago when they met in a Star Magic event in California.

Gary V 'On Higher Ground' Concert Series to be staged this April and May

Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano will hold a series of concert at the Music Museum, Greenhills, San Juan this coming April and May. The said concert, entitled On Higher Ground will show the 'pop icon Gary V ascending to new heights as he performs his most beloved songs with ground breaking visuals.'

The concert series will take place on April 12 and 13, 19 and 20, 26 and 27 and on May 9 and 10. The concert will be directed by Gary V himself together with son Paolo Valenciano and under the musical direction of Mon Faustino.

The Queen of Teleserye theme songs, Angeline Quinto will be part of a one-night only concert of Brian McKnight here in Manila happening on March 16, 2012 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The said concert will also showcase Brian's sons, Brian Jr. and Nico McKnight.

The said concert, dubbed as Back with Brian McKnight will feature Brian's hit songs that we all love such as Back At One, One Last Cry, Anytime, Only One For Me and a lot more.
