The Voice of the Philippines coaches Lea Salonga and Bamboo did a remarkable version of Mangarap Ka which they performed on ASAP 18 Sunday, July 21.

Lea and Bamboo's performance followed the much awaited collaboration of Lea Salonga and Charice (watch the video here). After the duet, Lea and Bamboo took the chance to thank all the viewers of The Voice PH which has always been a trending topic on social networks every weekend.

International star Lea Salonga had a guesting on Martin Nievera's late-night talk show Martin Late @ Night which aired on Friday, May 17. The Broadway diva weighed in on a number of issues and personalities during the said guesting.

Martin threw in topics in the form of hash tag and Lea Salonga answered those as if she were tweeting. One of the hash tags was #SingersWhoLipsync and the star of Miss Saigon candidly said "Unless you're on your death bed, I have no respect for that."

Who wouldn't love Lea for being straightforward and true to herself? The Tony award-winner even called herself a b***h, which we can expect at least when she sit on the red chair as a coach in the much anticipated The Voice of the Philippines airing this June.

Music Video: A Moment in Time Theme Song (You Are My Song by Erik Santos)

Star Cinema has released the music video for You Are My Song, the theme song of its Valentine offering, A Moment In Time starring Coco Martin and Julia Montes.

You Are My Song was written and popularized by Martin Nievera. Regine Velasquez also did her version for her movie. This version of You Are My Song, however, was sung by Erik Santos. The music video features scenes from the Coco-Julia starrer which will premiere in cinemas this February 13.

'Minute to Win It' Pilot Wins Big in National TV Ratings

The pilot episode of ABS-CBN’s newest game show “Minute to Win It” reigned on its timeslot in nationwide TV ratings and entered the top 20 most watched programs last Monday (Jan 14). 

Based on data from Kantar Media, it registered a national TV rating of 21% vs “Knock Out” (9%) and “Chef Boy Logro: Kusina Master” (6.4%) of GMA, and even captured the 7th slot in the top 20 programs across urban and rural homes. 

Viewers can start practicing at home following the introductory blueprints of some of the show’s seemingly easy challenges using ordinary materials like eggs, pencils, ping pong balls, and tissue.

Ogie Alcasid Launches 25th Anniversary Album 'The Songwriter and The Hitmakers'

In celebration of his 25 years into the business, singer-actor and songwriter Ogie Alcasid has released his most ambitious project, an 18-track album titled "The Songwriter And The Hitmakers."

The album gathers all the biggest singing and recording artists in the country to breathe life to Ogie’s compositions, including both his biggest hits and new songs. Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera, Piolo Pascual, Christian Bautista, Sarah Geronimo, Arnel Pineda, Angeline Quinto, Noel Cabangon, Richard Poon, Jed Madela, Kuh Ledesma, Rachelle Ann Go, Kyla, Jay-R and Jaya are part of the album.

Ogie Alcasid said his guests artists in the CD are really close to his heart.

"Lahat kasi 'yan kaibigan ko and at the same time gusto din sila ng Universal Records. Malaking bagay din na parte sila ng Universal Records. Kaya ako I'm really happy na I became part of the album kasi 'yung soul ng album ay nandoon sa pag-interpret nila," Alcasid said.

“Gathering all these friends in one project gives me pure joy, and I would like to thank all of them for being a part of this milestone project,” adds Ogie. “I hope everyone will enjoy this 25th anniversary offering.”

The X Factor Philippines Hopefuls Enter Boot Camp Week (July 21)

Out of thousands of hopefuls from across the country, only 172 auditionees will advance to the next round and enter the Boot Camp this Saturday (July 21) as the competition continues in the top-rating and biggest musical event of the year, “The X Factor Philippines.” 

Inside the Boot Camp, contestants will undergo various trainings to prep up for another make-or-break performance before judge-mentors Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Charice, and Pilita Corrales. 

From 172 contestants, the judge-mentors will have to make the cut and trim them down to only 20 contestants— five per category namely Girls (solo female performers 16-25 yrs old), Boys (solo male performers 16-25 yrs old), Adults (solo performers 26 yrs old and above), and Groups.

Tension Heats Up Between Gary V and Martin Nievera in 'The X Factor Philippines'

Tension heated up in the country’s biggest musical event of the year, “The X Factor Philippines” last Saturday (July 7) after judge-mentors Martin Nievera and Gary Valenciano got into a small debate whether to put through an auditionee or not. 

After Allen Sta. Maria of Cabanatuan City performed her piece, Gary and fellow judge Charice instantly voted yes while Martin said no. 

Gary argued that the young girl has strong potential and her voice quality is current with what teenagers nowadays listen to but Martin remained unconvinced and thought that her performance fell short. 

In the end, Pilita Corrales casted the deciding vote and sided with Gary and Charice. Martin was dismayed and argued with the judges once more while Allen went backstage and rejoiced with her family. 

The task of spotting the ‘x factor’ is indeed getting tougher week by week. A single vote from the judge-mentors can make or break the chances of the country’s next singing superstar.

The Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) has announced the list of nominees for the 4th PMPC Star Awards for Music 2012. 

ASAP performers lead the pack of nominees in the PMPC Star Awards for Music 2012 including "Natatanging Alagad ng Musika" awardees Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera. More than 70 OPM artists are nominated in the 27 categories of the 4th PMPC Star Awards for music 2012.

"The X Factor Philippines' Pilot Wins in TV Ratings, Trends on Twitter Worldwide

Most Filipinos joined celebrity judge-mentors Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Charice, and Pilita Corrales last Saturday (June 23) in spotting the ‘x factor’ among Pinoy singers in the pilot episode of the biggest musical event “The X Factor Philippines.” 

The show, hosted by KC Concepcion, hit a national TV rating of 25.1% beating its rival “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” with only 15.6%, based on Kantar Media’s data that covers urban and rural areas across the country. Kantar Media also reported that “The X Factor Philippines” won the ratings game last Sunday (June 24) scoring a national TV rating of 20.3% vs GMA’s “Pare & Pare” (10%) and TV5’s coverage of the 2012 Miss World-Philippines pageant (3.8%). 

When it comes to the online world, “The X Factor Philippines” was the talk of the town and was among the top trending topics in famous microblogging site Twitter, including judge-mentor Charice who earned various reactions from netizens worldwide for her emotional moments in the show. The crowd just cant wait for other breathtaking talents they are going to witness and for possible tensions that may build up amongst the judge-mentors.
