Wynn Andrada Launched as Star Records' Newest Acoustic Heartthrob; Releases Debut Album

Acoustic singer-songwriter Wynn Andrada is ready to capture the hearts of Filipino music lovers worldwide with his first solo album, which he described as ‘made and filled with love.’

“I put my heart and soul in this album. It’s for everyone who’s in love, longing to be loved, and those who just want to cherish the feeling of special romance. I dedicate it to everyone who has supported me throughout ‘Himig Handog’ because if not for them my dream of becoming a recording artist would not happen,” said Star Records’ newest acoustic heartthrob, who was among the 12 finalists in ABS-CBN’s songwriting competition “Himig Handog P-POP Love Songs 2013.”

Among the tracks in Wynn’s self-titled debut album is his winning “Himig Handog” song entry “Tamang Panahon,” “Sana Kahit Minsan,” “Ako’y Sa’yo, Ika’y Akin,” “Sa May Bintana,” “Akin Ka Na Lang,” and his carrier single “Dito Ka Lang Sa Puso Ko.” The minus one versions of the tracks are also included in the album.

Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs 2014 Now Accepting Entries

The search is on once again for the next big Pinoy Pop love song with the launch of the country’s biggest multimedia songwriting competition “Himig Handog Pinoy Pop (P-POP) Love Songs.”

After its successful grand comeback last year that awarded director-composer Jovinor Tan with P 1 million for his heartbreaking love song “Ano’ng Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa,” “Himig Handog” continues to search for exceptional songwriters whose works are set to be the next Original Pilipino Music (OPM) classics.

Amateur and professional Filipino composers worldwide can send their best original love songs online via the official website of “Himig Handog” at Himighandog.abs-cbn.com.

“Himig Handog P-POP Love Songs 2014” is open to any Filipino composer (Filipino citizen or Filipino descent); here and abroad, amateur or professional; an individual composer and/or lyricist, or up to three individual composers and/or individual lyricists collaborating for one entry. An individual composer may submit a maximum of two entries. Entries may be written in Filipino, English or Taglish, and in any popular music genre or a fusion of known genres.

ABS-CBN will accept songs entries beginning this Friday (November 15) until January 31, 2014. Daniel Padilla Birthday Concert at the Big Dome on April 30

After recently proving his charm in the box-office, the country’s hottest young actor-singer Daniel Padilla is set to conquer the Big Dome on April 30 (Tuesday) for his post-birthday concert that will unleash the ‘old school rocker’ side of him.

According to Daniel, who will celebrate his 18th birthday on April 26, his first-ever concert is dedicated to everyone who supports him.

“I’ll do everything to make the show successful,” said Daniel who will introduce his favorite ‘old school rock’ music to his young supporters. “This concert is my gift to my fans. It’s my way of saying thank you to all the support they have given me. We’ll just enjoy on that day.”

Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs Grand Winner is Aiza Seguerra's 'Anong Nagyari Sa Ating Dalawa'

The Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs 2013 Finals Night happened Sunday, February 24 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena and Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa composed by Jovinor Tan and interpreted by Aiza Seguerra was hailed as the grand winner (Best Song).

The song Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa bested 11 other finalists and won Jovinor Tan P1 million pesos while the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Best Song won P500,000, P200,000, P150,000 and P100,000, respectively.

Meanwhile, Daniel Padilla's Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat composed by Jungee Marcelo is also a big winner having clinch most of the special awards.

Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs Album Tracklist

Star Records has released the 'Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs' album which is now available both in digital and CD format. The album contains 12 cutting edge original Filipino compositions vying for the coveted title as this year’s Himig Handog P-Pop 2013 Grand Winner. 

Interpreted by some of the country's finest recording artists, the 'Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs' also come with an official music video produced by different universities which will be out on January 26.

Meanwhile, the finals night will be held on February 24 at the SM MOA Arena and will be telecast on ABS-CBN. Here is the 'Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs' album tracklist:

Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs Interpreted by Star Records Artists Now Available for Download

Star Recording Inc., the music arm of ABS-CBN has revived the Himig Handog tradition with P-Pop 2013. 12 cutting edge original Filipino compositions shall vie for the coveted title as this year’s Himig Handog P-Pop 2013 Grand Winner. The songs will be rendered by 12 of our finest local recording artists.

This year’s Pinoy P-Pop finalists are all love songs interpreted in different genres. A team of young composers, Ma. Fe Mechenette, G. Tianga, Melvin Muervana and Joel Jabat Jr., presented the alternative “Alaala” to be rendered by Yeng Constantino, while film director Joven Tan made it to the finals, this time in the field of song writing with “Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa” to be interpreted by Aiza Seguerra. Marian Aunor, from the Villamayor clan presented a distinct musical piece which she will also interpret through “If You Ever Change Your Mind”. Another young composer who will render his own piece entitled “Tamang Panahon” in the grand finals is 18 year old Win Andrada. Music veteran Soc Villanueva wrote “Hanggang Wakas” which talks about never ending love even in the midst of a terminal disease to be interpreted by Juris Fernandez.

This roster of love songs boasts of diversity with the inclusion of novelty pop hit potential “Kahit Na” by Julius James de Belen which will be rendered by Toni Gonzaga, a pop country Jungee Marcelo piece entitled “Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat” will be interpreted by pop heartthrob Daniel Padilla, and the classic mellow love song called “One Day” by Agatha Morallos from Baguio City, with a more low key rendition by Angeline Quinto.

Bugoy Drilon shall render a mellow pop love song entitled “Pwede Bang Ako Na Lang Ulit” from Jeffrey Cifra, Jovit Baldivino will sing his heart out once again with Arman Alferez’ “Sana’y Magbalik”. X-Factor grand champion KZ Tandingan will interpret Domingo Cubelo’s “Scared to Death” and Jude Gitamondoc’s composition about unrequited love entitled “This Song’s For You” will be rendered by Erik Santos.

“We are very excited on how these songs will be interpreted. The songs are carefully scrutinized according to the lyrics, melody and structure,” said Star Records Head Roxy Liquigan. “I am certain that this will be a tough job for the judges and we will be most happy whichever will be selected as the grand winner.”

Star Records will be releasing the album in CD and digital format. The digital album will be available for download on mymusicstore.com.ph on January 8while on iTunes and Amazon on January 11. Copies of the physical CD may be purchased from all Odyssey, Astroplus and SM Music Stores Nationwide beginning January 17.

The grand musical spectacle will be televised live on ABS-CBN from the SM MOA Arena on February 24.

Host Grace Lee is set to replace Shalani Soledad in TV-5's primetime variety show Wil Time Bigtime, Ricky Lo of The Philippine Star reported on Friday. Grace Lee will have her Wil Time Bigtime debut Saturday, November 17.

Aside from the chance of co-hosting a show with Willie Revillame, Grace Lee and Shalani Soledad have another thing in common, that is being both romantically involved to President Benigno Aquino III. Shalani had been in a relationship with PNoy for almost two years while Grace Lee also dated the President for a couple of months.

Shalani Soledad (now Mrs. Roman Romulo) leaves Wil Time Bigtime to pursue her plans of running for Congress in the 2013 midterm elections under the administration-led Liberal Party-Nacionalista Party, Nationalist People’s Coalition.
