Kung Ako'y iiwan Mo Final Episode Airs November 16, Ends After 7 Months

Posted on November 13, 2012 | 4:40 PM

After capturing the hearts of afternoon viewers for seven months, “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo,” will come to its end as the controversial Kapamilya Gold drama series of ABS-CBN is down to its last week. The teleserye topbilled by Shaina Magdayao, Bangs Garcia, and Jake Cuenca will air its final episode this Friday (November 16).

Kung Ako'y iiwan Mo Final Episode Airs November 16, Ends After 7 Months
According to Shaina, she has nothing but utmost gratitude for all the fans who have followed their story and loved their characters. “It’s sad that we are about to end, but at the same time it’s fulfilling to see the audience’s good reception to our story,” she said. “I’m really glad that all our effort was worth it and in our own little way, we’ve touched the lives of our viewers and served as an inspiration to them.”

Shaina added that their drama series, which started airing on April 16, further honed her craft as an actress. “We worked for almost a year for this series. And as an actress, this was a big challenge for me,” said Shaina, who is better known to TV viewers as Sarah, Paul’s (Jake) wife and Mia’s (Bangs) greatest rival. “As Sarah, I was able to portray various roles which I haven’t even experienced yet in life. In the show, I played as a mother, a wife who eventually filed for an annulment, and a patient who have undergone amnesia.”

Aside from her love scenes with Jake, loyal viewers of “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo” watch out for her action-packed face-off with Bangs. “If there’s one reason that I’m glad that our show is over, it’s because my violent behavior will finally be over,” Shaina shared. “It doesn’t feel good to be fierce all the time. But then, a lot of our followers love to see Sarah’s confrontation scenes with Mia.”

Aside from Shaina, Bangs and Jake, also part of the cast are Ron Morales, Gloria Diaz, Sandy Andolong, Maria Isabel Lopez, Dick Ysrael, Nikki Valdez, Jojit Lorenzo, Ronnie Lazaro, Dianne Medina, Joross Gamboa, Alyanna Angeles, and Jillian Aguila. Award-winning actors Christopher de Leon and Philip Salvador were also featured in the show as Jake and Shaina’s fathers, respectively. “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo” is directed by Lino S. Cayetano, Manny Q. Actress Shaina Magdayao recently shared that she is happy and contended with her life right now with all the blessings that she has, including the unprecedented ratings success in the afternoon block of her drama series “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo” which she co-stars with Jake Cuenca, Ron Morales, and Bangs Garcia.

Shaina Magdayao

“I’m really happy and thankful with all the blessings that come my way. Our show is doing so well and at the same time I’m glad that a lot of people appreciate my craft,” she said.

According to Shaina, she has become more positive with life with their show’s continues success and the undying support of her friends and family. “I learned a lot about life. I treasure everything about it. And I’m looking forward to becoming wiser and more experienced,” she explained.

When asked if her new look in “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo” had something to do with her controversial break-up with ex-boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz, Shaina immediately cleared the issue. She said, “No. It just so happened that my role in the teleserye needed a makeover.”

What bigger changes and challenges will Shaina’s role, Sarah undergo especially now that another woman, aside from Mia (Bangs) is running after Paul (Jake)? Will Paul’s boss Sandra (Dianne Medina) become Sarah’s new friend or foe?

Bangs Garcia, Afternoon TV's Well-Loved Bida-Kontrabida

Sexy Kapamilya actress Bangs Garcia is grateful for her fierce ‘bida-kontrabida’ role as Mia in the country’s no.1 afternoon TV drama, “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo.”

According to Bangs, who is also part of Star Cinema’s latest barkada movie “The Reunion,” she is amazed until now with the huge ratings success of their teleserye in ABS-CBN. “We saw the gradual rise of our show’s ratings but what pleases us more is every time we learn how attached the viewers are with our story, including the Pinoy viewers abroad who can relate with the characters,” said Bangs.

Bangs Garcia

While others cry with the misfortunes of Shaina Magdayao’s role, Sarah, Bang’s avid followers cannot help but join the different battles of Mia, Paul’s (Jake Cuenca) ex-girlfriend who later on became his mistress.

“Because of Mia I was given the chance to prove my versatility as an actress,” said Bangs. “With her, I can be kind, kindhearted, cruel, and sometimes psychotic. Truly, she’s very challenging.”

Bangs is happy that TV viewers are now mature in terms of the TV dramas they watch. She explained, “I’m glad that the audience now are more open-minded because they can separate Mia’s character from Bangs Garcia the actress. I’m really happy to see viewers affected with my cruelty in the story because that means I’m effective as an actress.”

Shaina Magdayao: I Deserve A Better Man

Posted on August 3, 2012 | 12:02 PM

ABS-CBN’s ‘Kapamilya Gold’ Queen, Shaina Magdayao is overwhelmed with the continuing success of the country’s no.1 afternoon drama, “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo.”

Shaina believes that a big factor of their show’s huge following is its realistic theme that TV viewers find highly relatable, especially women who have experienced the pain of betrayal and infidelity.

Shaina Magdayao

“As women, we all love, and we’re willing to give everything for the people we love. We sacrifice, we trust, and we forgive,” explained Shaina. “But like Sarah, when enough is enough, we stand up and value ourselves.”

Just like the loyal televiewers of “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo,” Shaina’s role in the series, Sarah, is close to her heart. And when asked if she finds herself in a situation like Sarah’s and she has to choose between Rino (Ron Morales) who loves her so much but took advantage of her illness and her husband Paul (Jake Cuenca) who, on the other hand, had an affair with his ex-girlfriend while he was abroad, Shaina simply replied, “None of them. Both Rino and Paul hurt Sarah too much in different ways and levels. And even in real life, I’m very sure that there is a right and more deserving man for me aside from the likes of Paul and Rino.”

Now that Sarah and Paul have crossed paths once again, will they find true love once again in each other’s arms? Or will Rino and Mia (Bangs Garcia) still find ways to break the two’s marriage?

Don’t miss the country’s no.1 afternoon program, “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo,” after “Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto” in ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold. For more updates log on to www.abs-cbn.com or follow @abscbndotcom on Twitter.

“We are so flattered and thankful how viewers respond to our show,” said Jake. “I think people appreciate it for being realistic and because they can relate with the personal struggles of Paul (Jake), Sarah (Shaina Magdayao), Mia (Bangs Garcia) and their families.”

Jake further shared that he enjoys portraying the role of Paul, the husband who cheated on his wife for his ex-girlfriend.

“I learn a lot from Paul, especially from his mistakes,” he said. “Now that Paul is back in the Philippines, he will pay for all the pain he had caused Sarah and Mia. He will really suffer. And that is what viewers should watch out for.”
