'Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo' to Hold Red Carpet Premiere in Doha, Qatar

On April 16, ABS-CBN Corporation and TFC are unveiling yet another milestone teleserye – Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo (If You Will Leave Me) via Channel 2 and TFC worldwide.  The very first overseas Filipino-serye or OFserye, Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo tells the story of two individuals who traversed miles to be with each other and was mainly shot in Doha where the OFserye was set.

Doha in Qatar is in the Middle East, home to the third largest group of Filipinos outside the Philippines.  Interestingly, while several movies have been made to tell the story of overseas Filipinos in the region like Dubai, a Star Cinema movie released in 2005, this is the first time that a teleserye has been shot in Dubai, UAE and in Doha, Qatar.

The OFserye tells of two children (Jake and Shaina) of two best friends, played by Christopher de Leon and Phillip Salvador, both overseas Filipinos who served as inspiration to their kids’ chosen path.

When Phillip Salvador saves Christopher from imminent death, the latter feels responsible for the welfare of Phillip’s family until he himself dies. Fate seems to always be bringing Jake and Shaina together as they fall for each other, and then torn apart with the presence of another girl played by Bangs Garcia.

On April 12 at 9 p.m., TFC Middle East, the international arm of ABS-CBN Corporation in the Middle East will unveil the first OF-serye in Al Majlis Hall, Sheraton Doha Resort and Convention Hotel.

The red carpet premiere will be graced by the lead stars Shaina Magdayo, Jake Cuenca and Bangs Garcia. Tickets are priced at QR 100 for VIP and QR 50 for regular seats.  In the premiere, attendees will preview the making of the teleserye and the preview of the first few episodes which will cover the first week of the airing.

Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo will air in the Philippines via Channel 2 beginning April 16 as well as internationally via TFC especially in the Middle East daily for about three months.

Angel Locsin To Shoot Teleserye in Peru?

Posted on March 19, 2012 | 7:39 PM

Is it true that Star Awards Best Actress for Movies Angel Locsin will shoot her next teleserye in the South American country Peru? There are rumors surfacing the web claiming that Angel will be flying to Peru where her upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye will be set. The said source also claim that Angel is now practicing again her horseback riding skills for the said project.

If the rumor is indeed true, we can commend ABS-CBN for bringing a new flavor to its every production. This year, there is not only one Kapamilya teleserye that shot some scenes outside the country.

Piolo Pascual's Dahil Sa Pag-ibig shot some scenes in Italy while Coco Martin and Dawn Zulueta also showed us the said country's grandeur via Walang Hanggan. Kathryn Bernardo is currently in Bhutan with Gretchen Barretto, Enrique Gil and Albert Martinez for Princess and I while Shaina Magdayao and Jake Cuenca had already did some scenes in Doha, Qatar for Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo.

There are also rumors that John Lloyd and Bea's reunion teleserye, A Beautiful Affair will be shot in Austria. Then, Angel is next with this 'Peru' thing.

As for now, we can just hope for the best to come but the idea of ABS-CBN shooting another TV series abroad is just insanely good news as this would mean that better quality and expensive teleseryes are coming our way plus the fact that we got to see the rest of the world even at home.

Jake Cuenca Tapes Steamy Scenes with Shaina Magdayao

Posted on February 16, 2012 | 10:10 PM

Hunk actor Jake Cuenca said he and actress Shaina Magdayao taped some sexy scenes for their upcoming television series  (Doha) Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo. Jake, however, revealed he did not feel awkward doing the steamy scenes with Shaina even if he knows that his leading lady is in a relationship with actor John Lloyd Cruz.

Jake and Shaina had been working together for a long period since these two actors were always paired in television shows and series like Your Song and Rubi. Jake said in an interview with Push.com.ph that this helped a lot in doing the sexy scenes in their newest teleserye.

Jake also noted that Shaina trusted her that much and in return, he always make sure that the actress feel comfortable with their scenes. According to Jake, a totally different Shaina will be seen in this show about the day-to-day lives of OFWs.

Many sensual scenes can be expected from the said teleserye since the characters that the two will portray are husband and wife where the one will have to go to Doha, Qatar as an OFW.  Intense clashing will await one upon the lover's return.

Jake said he is proud of this series because the story reflects reality.

Some scenes from the said teleserye are even shot in Doha, Qatar so that would mean that money and hardwork are all in for this ABS-CBN production.
