Star Magic's 20th anniversary movie 24/7 in Love had grossed P10 million on its opening day according to a report of Boy Abunda in the ABS-CBN late night newscast Bandila. The film opened in cinemas November 21 and had its star-studded premiere night at the SM Megamall.

The said figure may not be as high as what The Mistress, This Guy's In Love With You Mare and A Secret Affair have achieved on first showing day but can be considered as quite a good start for a romantic- comedy movie.

Sam Milby is Pokwang's First Kiss in a Movie, Plays a Gigolo in 24/7 in Love

What is a 40-year-old virgin supposed to do when she finds out her fiancé has been cheating on her? Well, find a new man who she can trust and love of course! But this isn’t an easy task so who better to help her than her bff, who’s gay and full of bright ideas?

Sam Milby and Pokwang bring to life the comic story of Charles and Virgie in Star Cinema’s offering in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Star Magic, “24/7 In Love.” All three are excited in their first Star Magic collaboration and they say their episode has a lot of firsts. “It has a lot of firsts I think, this is my first time doing a movie with Pokwang. Hindi naman first time na katrabaho ko siya, we did a ‘Your Song’ a long time ago but it’s my first time being paired with her in a movie. Our story, yung story namin ni Pokwang very comedy talaga,” Sam shares. “I know it was Pokwang’s first time, ako yung first kissing scene niya ever in a movie, so she’s a virgin in the movie and she’s a virgin in terms of kissing scene, so I’m happy that I was the first, hahaha!”

On the other hand, John Lapus, who’s also part of the episode’s cast, reveals that he jumped at the chance to work with the other Star Magic artists as this is a rare opportunity. “Hindi nako tumanggi, siyempre no, bilang bibihira na pagsama-samahin kaming mga Star Magic artists sa ganito kalaki na project. Sana at least once a year, merong Star Magic movie tulad nitong ‘24/ 7 In Love’ kasi masaya na magkakasama kami and maski rin sa mga fans, ‘di ba ang bongga na nakikita nilang magkakasama kami sa isang big screen, nandun kami and of course sa premiere night makikita nila kaming lahat dun.”

Both Sam and John agree that “24/7 In Love” has a lot of lessons for the heart, which audiences from all ages can relate to. “I would say some of the most beautiful things in life come out in the most unexpected times,” Sam admits. “Sa movie, marerealize mo na, one, age doesn’t matter and two, walang pinipiling tao ang pag ibig kahit gwapo, hindi maganda, mayaman, mahirap. Kapag ang puso tinamaan ka talaga maiinlove ka talaga, kahit 24/7 pa,” John adds.

Gerald Anderson is a Hero in his Underwear in 24/7 in Love, Reunites with Kim Chiu

Life has a way of sneaking up on you, as a song goes and truly, circumstances can bring people together in the funniest way possible. Something both Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson can relate to, as their tandem is reunited Star Cinema’s offering in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Star Magic, “24/7 In Love.” Kimeralds can enjoy watching their favorite team up on the silver screen again via the episode “Underwear Hero.”

In the movie, Kim plays the role of Patty, a driven young account executive who has to save her job by finding a guy, who rescued his neighbors from a fire fiasco in his underwear and became an instant celebrity. Unfortunately, the guy turns out to be Gerald’s character Alvin, her ex-boyfriend, whom she has hurt from the past.

The pair, who last appeared together in the movie “Till My Heartaches End” in 2010, were both happy to work with each other again. In fact, during the filming, Kim and Gerald proved their friendship is still as strong as ever. “Magkaibigan naman po kami talaga,” Kim said, even adding that her and Gerald’s career are intertwined since they won in the first “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition.”

Gerald also revealed that even though they did not do a project for two years, working with Kim again brought back memories. “Two years ago pa yung huling movie namin ni Kim, tapos nun nagktrabaho kami ulit, parang bumabalik yung mga dating memories, yung mga alaala at kahit 2 years kaming hindi nagkasama sa shooting, parang yung first day pa lang, kilala na talaga namin isa’t isa, kaya sobrang komportable kami agad.”

Kim also recalled that during the shooting, that people from the sidelines kept on teasing her and Gerald, making them laugh at times. “Sa ‘min kasi ni Gerald, 4 years na kami lagi yung loveteam tapos nung sumalang na kami, na umarte na kami sa harap ng camera, ganon pa rin parang gamay na namin yung isa’t isa. Hindi na kami nag ‘sino kaya gaganito’ or ‘sino kaya maggaganito,’ parang natural na. Parang okay, maganda yung flow nung umarte kami. Kaya nagulat ako na, ‘ay oo naalala niya pa rin, naaalala ko pa rin.’”

Both shared they immediately agreed to the project after Mr. M (Johnny Manahan) brought it up as part of Star Magic’s 20th year celebration. Kim and Gerald are very thankful to Star Magic for treating them like family ever since they stepped out of the Big Brother house. They also are grateful for Star Magic’s guidance for their careers wouldn’t have lasted six years in the industry and still going strong.

As for the lessons they have learned in making the movie, Gerald has this to share. “Minsan kasi para mapatunayan at malaman mo kung mahal mo talaga ang isang tao kailangan minsan sa buhay, you have to grow apart from each other kahit sandali lang, kahit mabilis lang, kasi kapag hindi na kayo magkasama dun niyo makikita at mararamdaman kung kayo talaga para sa isa’t isa. Dahil ang dami niyo pang matututunan na hiwalay kayo and then when you come back together, baka mas marami kayong alam tungkol sa buhay, about yourself, at maging mas ok kayo.”

Kim on the other hand shared, “Huwag agad agad magdesisyon. Timbangin muna kung ano yung mas importante para sa ‘yo, ‘yung pagmamahal mo or ‘yung career mo. Pero kung pwede naman isabay, pwede naman, basta know your priorities lang, pangarap mo ba o yung love mo.”

The story revolves around Jane (Kathryn) in her search for answers on 'What will people do before the world ends?' to be her video entry to win tickets to the concert of her her ultimate crush, Billy Fernandez (Daniel).  In her quest to find the answers to her question, she met different people who will tell her how powerful true love can be. Among them were a 40-year old virgin named Virgie (Pokwang) who will meet a gigolo Charles (Sam Milby); the hopeless romantic secretary Barbara (Maja) helping his boss Ken (Diet) with personal issues; Verna (Angel) who went to vacation in Vietnam and will meet a waiter Elvis (John Lloyd); Belle (Bea) who is in love with gay best friend Butch (Zanjoe); a 35 year old mentally challenged Mike (Piolo) with child stars Zaijan & Xyriel; and an active account executive Patty ( Kim) who wanted to get Alvin (Gerald) as a model for their company.

Gerald Anderson Plays A Macho Dancer in Reunion Movie with Kim Chiu

Actor Gerald Anderson will play the role of a macho dancer in his reunion movie with Kim Chiu, tentatively titled Crazy Love. The former couple will be working together again in this 20th anniversary movie offering of Star Magic.

Gerald Anderson revealed to ABS-CBN news that his role will be quite daring as he is set to play something he had never played before, a macho dancer and call boy.

"[Ang role ko] plain and simple - isa po akong macho dancer ni Ate Pokwang. Siya po ang suki ko," said Gerald during his first shooting day for the Star Magic movie last May 23.

Pokwang will play Kim Chiu's mother in the movie so Gerald will be coming in between the relationship of a mother to her daughter.

"Mag-nanay kami ni Nanay Pokwang, kino-control ko siya, kasi minsan mas matanda pa ako sa kanya. Maganda 'yung banter namin, funny and serious sometimes," Kim told ABS-CBN news.

How did Gerald prepare for the role? Well, in an interview with PEP, Gerald said that he did immerse himself in a gay bar so he can have a background of what to do. Of course, the hunk actor was in disguise all throughout, wearing a cap in the middle of the dark bar.

“Nag-immerse rin ako para dito. Pumasok ako sa isang gay bar, naka-sumbrero ako para hindi alam ng mga tao. Medyo madilim nung time na yun at pinanood ko yung mga sumasayaw sa stage. Para at least kahit papaano, may background ako.

The said movie, Crazy Love will be Kim and Gerald's reunion project after Till My Heartaches End in 2010. Gerald said that he is very excited to be paired again with Kim, knowing that both of them had already grown up as an actor.

"Syempre maninibago ka kasi last project namin more than a year [ago] pa. Pero more than ilangan, syempre mas excited, kasi 'yung mga natutunan namin last year, maipapakita namin dito," related Gerald.

When asked if there will be a kissing scene between him and Kim, Gerald quickly replied, "Secret" but added that he is very ready to do it again on-screen with his ex-girlfriend.

Kim and Gerald will be joined by an all-star cast in this 20th anniversary film offering of Star Magic,  including John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Maja Salvador, Diether Ocampo, Piolo Pascual, Jake Cuenca, John Lapus and Angelica Panganiban.

Aside from the movie Crazy Love, Gerald will be starring on his very first indie film entitled El Brujo with Jake Cuenca. The said indie film is an action-drama movie helmed by critically-acclaimed director Tikoy Aguiluz. El Brujo, which was shot on different locations such as Subic, Olongao, Antipolo and even Mt. Pinatubo required Gerald his fighting skills using a knife, gun and even hist fist.

Although Maja's Kapamilya Gold series is now on its last week, she has another movie project to watch out for. Maja will be the leading lady of Diether Ocampo in the Star Magic 20th anniversary movie. Maja will play Diet's secretary in the said film which will also star the biggest names in Star Magic.

Diether Ocampo and Maja Salvador Team Up for New Movie

Hunk actor Diether Ocampo and actress Maja Salvador will be playing lovers in the upcoming Star Magic movie in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Maja Salvador will play the secretary of Diether's character in the film.

Even with a wide age gap (Maja is 23 while Diether is 37), Maja Salvador was very thankful that she had the opportunity to be paired with Diet, being a relatively more experienced actor.

“Akala ko hindi ko na siya maaabutan, pero naabutan ko siya. Dati ‘diba, bagets-bagets pa talaga ako, nanonood ako nu'ng mga team-up niya with Kristine Hermosa, with Claudine Barretto, sina Judy Ann. Tapos ngayon, ang-swerte ko naman, magkasama naman kaming dalawa,” Maja told ABS-CBN news.

Meanwhile, Diether appreciated Maja's youthful energy on the set. Maja revealed that Diet somehow missed that kind of energy and occasionally amazed with Maja's funny antics.

Maja Salvador drpped a few hints on what the story will look like. Somehow, the film will be reminiscent of Manong Gilbert Perez' Jologs where the characters with their own stories to tell will meet in the end (a 'small world' conclusion) yet this one will show the farthest lengths one can go to for love.

“’Yung kwento nito – ano ba ang mga kabaliwan natin? Ano ba ang magagawa mong kabaliwan para sa pag-ibig? Lahat kami dito, may kanya-kanyang kwento. Magtutugma-tugma kaming lahat, magkikita-kita kami, at sa bawat isang character, mare-realize ng manonood na, ‘Ay, ginawa ko na ‘yan [para] sa pag-ibig.’”

Star Magic's 20th anniversary film offering will also feature Kapamilya stars John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Piolo Pascual, Jake Cuenca, Pokwang and Angelica Panganiban.

John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo Reunited in 'The Mistress' Movie

Seasoned love team John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo are set to reunite in a movie entitled The Mistress. The said movie is another Star Cinema offering in celebration of John Lloyd and Bea's 10th year anniversary as a love team.

Both Bea and John Lloyd are excited about this reunion movie. In an interview with TV Patrol's Gretchn Fullido on Wednesday, April 25, Lloydie said that he is looking forward to shooting his reunion movie with Bea because both of them have already grown up as actors.

“Sobrang excited ako kung paano magiging batuhan namin ni Bea sa mga eksena kasi iba na si Bea ngayon, iba na rin ako,” John Lloyd told ABS-CBN news.

“Ten years na pala kami no? I'm so excited [and] at the same time challenged. With John Lloyd, you always need to be on your toes. It’s always refreshing to work with John Lloyd,” remarked Bea Alonzo.

Their reunion movie, The Mistress will tackle a controversial theme and they will be playing deep and sensitive roles. The movie is about infidelity and it will surely be a talk-of-the-town just like No Other Woman.

The said movie will be helmed by award-winning director, Olivia M. Lamasan (Milan, In My Life, In The Name of Love).

If I was not mistaken, this is supposed to be the movie which will star Bea Alonzo and Derek Ramsay if not for the decision of Star Cinema to replace Derek who recently transferred to TV5 (read related article here).

Aside from this reunion movie, Bea and John Lloyd will also take part in the star-studded Star Magic 20th anniversary movie. John Lloyd had already shoot some scenes in Vietnam with Angelica Panganiban for this movie.

Fans will also be delighted with Bea and John Lloyd's upcoming teleserye, A Beautiful Affair which will be shot in Vienna, Austria. 

Bea nd John Lloyd last worked together in the big screen via Miss You Like Crazy in 2010 and in the teleserye  I Love Betty La Fea way back in 2009.

Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson Reunited in New Movie

Former on- and off-screen couple Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson will be reunited on the big screen for an upcoming movie in celebration of Star Magic's 20th anniversary. 

Kim Chiu, in an interview with ABS-CBN news said that she already started shooting some scenes for the movie.

“Nagsimula na ako kahapon, pero hindi ko siya ka-eksena. Okay lang naman. Kung trabaho, trabaho. Magkaibigan naman talaga kami. Wala naman kaming pinag-awayan as kaming dalawa.” 

The said movie will also feature other Star Magic big stars and famous onscreen team ups. Aside from Kim and Gerald, the movie will also star Piolo Pascual, Jake Cuenca, Diether Ocampo, Pokwang, Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz, the latter two even have their movie shoot in Vietnam.

“Ang dami namin sa movie. Hindi siya naka-focus sa isang tao lang so ang daming mangyayari. May eksena kami ni Gerald, mayroon din sa ibang artista. Pero 'yung main story it’s all about love. Parang lahat ng bagay gagawin mo alang-alang sa pag-ibig,” Kim explained.

In the interview, Kim Chiu also said that she is happy for Gerald, who is being romantically linked to Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo.

“Super happy ako para kay Gerald. Sa kung ano man ang naabot niya ngayon sa personal life niya at sa career niya, masayang masaya ako.”

Right now, Kim said she's enjoying the single life and is just waiting for Mr. Right to come.

"Siyempre naninigurado lang tayo. Mayroon naman kahit papano na (umaaligid). Na-e-enjoy ko naman ang nangyayari sa buhay ko ngayon na (single). Pwede naman magka-relasyon kung nandiyan 'yung tamang lalaki.”

Kim is now being romantically-linked to his My Binondo Girl leading man, Xian Lim who admitted his admiration for the actress. Aside from the Star Magic movie, she is also busy with another movie, The Healing together with Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto and Pokwang.

John Lloyd Cruz Juggles 3 Major Projects - 2 Movies and a TV Soap

Actor John Lloyd Cruz is the male version of Curacha now that he's juggling 3 major projects. John Lloyd is set to star in two new films under Star Cinema and a teleserye with Bea Alonzo.

John Lloyd Cruz' has just returned from Vietnam after his shoot for the Star Magic 20th anniversary movie  where he will co-star with the biggest names under the said talent management firm including Kim Chiu, Piolo Pascual, Jake Cuenca, Pokwang, Diether Ocampo and Angelica Panganiban.

John Lloyd and Angelica left for Vietnam with Jason Gainza before Holy Week for the movie shoot and returned yesterday, April 9. John Lloyd revealed that he wanted to work anew with Angelica in a full length film. Bot actors worked together in the soap Maging Sino Ka Man (Book 2).

Lloydie also started filming his 3rd movie with Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo. The Cathy Garcia-Molina-directed movie is the third in the Miggy-Laida series after You Changed My Life and A Very Special Love. The said movie will also star Iza Calzado in her first movie as a Kapamilya.

Meanwhile, John Lloyd is already excited for his reunion teleserye with Bea Alonzo tentatively titled A  Beautiful Affair. The said production is now underway and this May, they will be flying to Vienna, Austria to shoot the pilot. Lloydie said that 80% of the pilot will be shot in Vienna.

The last time Bea and Lloydie worked in a teleserye was in I Love Betty La Fea way back in 2009.

Angelica Panganiban To Star in 'Mariposang Dagat'

ABS-CBN is reportedly preparing for an upcoming teleserye which will star Angelica Panganiban. The said teleserye entitled Mariposang Dagat (Butterfly of the Sea) is said to be Angelica's next TV project after Rubi in 2010.

Angelica is supposed to do the teleserye Alta where she will go head to head with Gretchen Barretto and KC Concepcion. Unfortunately, the said series was shelved for unknown reasons. The other stars have their replacement projects at hand - Gretchen had Princess and I which will premiere this April 16 while KC had The X Factor Philippines coming this 3rd quarter. As for Angelica it is Mariposang Dagat.

Mariposang Dagat is another teleserye to look forward to and the title itself is very intriguing. With Angelica as the main lead, we can expect superb acting as Angel is very versatile. 

There is a 1977 Pinoy film also entitled Mariposang Dagat from the plume of Pablo S Gomez which stars Matt Ranillo III, Ruel Vernal and Vivian Velez. Could this ABS-CBN teleserye be patterned with the movie?

Meanwhile, Angelica has a new movie with Piolo Pascual entitled Every Breath You Take coming this May so we should watch out for that as this is Piolo and Angelica's first big screen team up and from the trailer, we can say that it is a light romance/comedy movie.

Angelica is also included in the biggest Star Magic movie set for its 20th anniversary. Angelica and John Lloyd even went to Vietnam to shoot some scenes for the movie. It has been reported that the said movie will be shooting around the world.

Bea and John Lloyd Teleserye To Shoot in Europe

There's nothing stopping ABS-CBN from shooting teleserye scenes in foreign lands this 2012. 

After Dahil Sa Pag-ibig and Walang Hanggan's shoot in Italy, Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo in Doha, Qatar and Princess and I in the kingdom of Bhutan, another Kapamilya series is slated to shoot scenes outside the country.

Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz' reunion teleserye tentatively titled A Beautiful Affair will shoot some scenes in Europe. According to Bea in one of her interviews, the whole pilot episode will be shot in Europe (rumor has it that is Austria in particular).

Bea and John Lloyd's teleserye will air sometime in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2012 so fans should wait a little while before they can see these two reunited on TV.

Bea Alonzo will also do a movie with John Lloyd, who is now in Vietnam with Angelica Panganiban to shoot for the biggest Star Magic movie in lieu of its 20th anniversary.
