This Guy's In Love With You Mare Grosses P100 Million in 5 Days, Certified Box Office Hit!

Star Cinema's latest co-production with Viva Films, This Guy's In Love With You Mare starring Vice Ganda, Toni Gonzaga and Luis Manzano had grossed P100 million on its first 5 days of showing.

The news was confirmed by Star Cinema's Ad Prom Head, Roxy Liquigan via Twitter and was also announced by host Boy Abunda in The Buzz, Sunday, October 14. Tito Boy and co-host Charlene Gonzales-Muhlach congratulated Toni Gonzaga for the big success of the movie.

According to Star Cinema, This Guy's In Love With You Mare had an opening gross of P23 million, same figure with that of The Mistress, another certified blockbuster.

This Guy's In Love With You Mare, from its conception was poised to be a big box office hit as it brings together three of the biggest movie stars in the country —Toni, Vice and Luis plus the box office director, Wenn Deramas.

The tandem of Vice and Direk Wenn held the record for the highest grossing Pinoy film of all time with 2011's blockbuster The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin. 

It is expected that the movie will breach the P200 million mark as it approaches its second week in cinemas.

Star Cinema’s wild comedy movie event of the year, “This Guy’s In Love With You, Mare” will hit theaters nationwide this Wednesday (October 10). Under the direction of box-office director Wenn V. Deramas, “This Guy’s In Love With You, Mare” is topbilled by the comedy box-office trio of Philippine cinema–box-office queen Toni Gonzaga, box-office Comedy leading man Luis Manzano, and box-office phenomenon Vice Ganda.

According to Luis, their film tackles a simple yet complicated theme that will surely delight the moviegoers. “Yung character ko dito na si Mike, nagkataon na involved in colourful relationships. Minahal niya si Lester (Vice) at nagkataong nahulog din ang loob niya kay Gemma (Toni),” said Luis. “Our movie is about love, truthfulness, and different kinds of relationships.”

Toni, meanwhile, feels proud with her first team-up with Luis, Vice, and Direk Wenn. “Pinapangako po namin sa inyo na this is worth every centavo of your money. Bibigyan namin kayo ng isa’t kalahating oras ng kasiyahan na makakalimutan niyo pansamantala ang lahat ng mga problema niyo,” she said.

Despite being a comedy flick, Vice assured that “This Guy’s In Love With You, Mare” will share life lessons to moviegoers. He explained, “Itong pelikula namin todo talaga sa patawa, todong laugh trip, at todong good vibes. Pero eventually meron itong mai-impart na importanteng lesson sa audience.”

Aside from Toni, Luis, and Vice, also part of “This Guy’s In Love With You, Mare” are Edgar Mortiz, Buboy Garovillo, Gladys Reyes, DJ Durano, Karla Estrada, Carla Martinez and Ms. Tessie Tomas. Completing the cast are Jayson Gainza, Eagle Riggs, Ricky Rivero, IC Mendoza, Dang Cruz, Cecil Paz, Manuel Chua, Ricci Chan, Lassy, Tess Antonio, and Edward Mendez.

This Guy's In Love With You Mare Full Trailer Premieres on GGV this Sunday

The most-awaited comedy movie of the year, This Guy's In Love With You Mare will finally hit theaters this October. Starring Vice Ganda, Toni Gonzaga and Luis Manzano, the movie, produced under Star Cinema, will surely be another box office hit.

In This Guy's In Love With You Mare, Vice Ganda will play the role of Toni Gonzaga's suitor and one situation will require Toni and Vice to have a kissing scene, the first onscreen kiss of Vice.

"Lalaki siya sa pelikulang ito kaya nakakatawa, pero lalaking-lalaki siya, convincing ah," Toni told reporters in an interview, who also asked about their kissing scene in the movie.

"Pinakamalalang nagawa ko sa buong buhay ko, na magka-eksena kami ni Vice na hindi ko alam kung paano namin nagawa! First time ko ma-experience 'yung ganung klaseng kissing scene, kakaiba, hindi ko mai-describe. Nakakabaliktad ng sikmura," Toni said, laughing.

Vice and Luis Manzano will also have a bed scene in the movie. In July, the photo of Vice and Luis seen on a bed together spread online. The said 'love scene' photo was also featured on GGV with Luis' mom, Gov. Vilma Santos, as guest.

Also starring IC Mendoza, DJ Durano, Ricci Chan, Lassie Marquez, Ricky Rivero and Gladys Reyes and directed by Wenn Deramas, This Guy's In Love With You Mare  is Vice Ganda's follow up to the 2011 comedy film The Ukabogable Praybeyt Benjamin, hailed as the highest-grossing local film of all time.

This Guy's In Love With You Mare full trailer will have its world premiere this Sunday, September 23 on Gandang Gabi Vice. The said trailer though was already seen by moviegoers who got to watch The Mistress.

Toni, Vice and Luis Caught in a Love Triangle in New Movie

Toni Gonzaga, Vice Ganda and Luis Manzano will join forces for an upcoming movie under Star Cinema. The said movie project will be directed by no less, Direk Wenn Deramas.

In an interview with ABS-CBN news after their story conference Thursday, June 7, Toni, Vice and Luis can't hide their excitement for their upcoming movie which will be released by October this year.

Multimedia star Toni Gonzaga shared how happy she was with this movie knowing the material is good and that she will be working with her friends in showbiz.

"Sobrang saya. Ito siguro ang pinakamasayang pelikulang magagawa ko sa buhay ko kasi imaginine mo si Vice, Luis, Direk Wenn (Deramas). Ang saya. Nai-imagine ko pa lang ang mga shooting days, mga eksena, parang ang saya talaga. Ito ang isa sa proyekto na ilu-look forward mong pumasok at pumunta sa set dahil alam mong maganda ang materyal, alam mong masarap katrabaho ang mga kasama mo at ‘yung direktor napakahusay at pinagkakatiwalaan naming tatlo so masaya,” said Toni.

Meanwhile, Luis Manzano hinted a bit about the movie's plot. He said that there will be a complicated love triangle in store for the viewers. “Kumbaga sa Facebook, it’s very complicated ang love triangle. Hindi normal ang love triangle talagang magkakasalubong ang landas namin pagdating sa pagmamahalan.”

Vice Ganda is also excited to worked again with Toni whom she last worked with in the book 2 of Maging Sino Ka Man way back in 2008.

“Kahit hindi pa kami nagsisimula mag-shoot masaya na kami agad. Maganda ang vibes. Magaan lang. Excited ako kasi ang tagal ko na ulit gusto makasama si [Toni] ng maya’t maya. Parang bonding na rin,” Vice exclaimed.

If the three leads were excited, so are we. Expect the unexpected comedy in this yet another blockbuster movie by Wenn Deramas. Toni Gonzaga + Vice Ganda + Luis Manzano = a riot film we can't get enough.

Wako Wako Premieres This March 5 on Primetime Bida

After their sweet, cool and blockbuster tandem in their 2010 movie “Ang Tanging Ina Mo [Last ‘Na To],” acclaimed director Wenn Deramas is excited to work once again with Comedy Concert Queen Ai Ai delas Alas in ABS-CBN’s newest fantaserye “Wako Wako,” which will air on March 5.

Ai Ai said that in his reunion with Direk Wenn, she intends to give not only pure entertainment, but also inspiration to more Filipinos. She recounted that her tandem with Deramas in movies became a hit not only on its hilarious content, but also because of the life lessons it offered to the moviegoers.

In her preparation for the new project, Ai Ai went to the Holy Land recently and visited some important places in Jesus’ life. In her pilgrimage, the Comedy Concert Queen took the chance to reflect on her life and thanked the Lord for the blessings she continues to receive.

Also featured in “Wako Wako” is the called young Coco Martin Yogo Singh. For his first ever big break, Yogo is very much excited. He never thought that portraying Coco would be a sign of something big that will be offered to him.

Besides Ai Ai and Yogo, also casted in “Wako Wako” are Vandolph Quizon, Glady’s Reyes, Maricar de Mesa, Malou de Guzman, Dennis Padilla, Carlos Agassi, Abby Bautista, Markki Stroem, Liezel Garcia, Eagle Riggs, DJ Durano and Franco Daza. Other members of the program’s cast are ecstatic to be part of the project, since it’s headed by a renowned director and starred by the Comedy Concert Queen.

“Wako Wako” is a story of seven-year-old boy Muymuy (Yogo), who yearns to make his father, a respected policeman, proud. His cowardice nature, however, prevents him to do so. He will discover a magical creature and he’ll call it Wako. Wako-Wako fulfills all his wishes, but soon Muymuy discovers that every granted wish comes with a price.

A mysterious lady named Dyosa Marishka finds Muymuy and tells him that Wako is an Arukan and that she is a goddess of wishes in need of help from the creature. The goddess needs to find seven people who will provide pure selfless wishes to save her kingdom and bring her back to power. In return, Wako helps Muymuy with his family’s problems in this endearing tale of friendship and relations.
