According to Xian's love team Kim Chiu, the actor has been deeply saddened by the incident last January 31. "Sobra siyang malungkot, hindi mo siya makausap. As in hindi siya kumakain, hindi siya nagpapagupit ng hair, ayaw niya."
"Sobra siyang na-down kasi ang daming bashers sa Instagram," Kim Chiu told ABS-CBN News on Thursday.
Kim Chiu came into the defense of Xian, saying that she would have reacted the same way if she's in the same situation.
Siyempre kahit ako magugulat ako na parang, 'Anong nangyari?' kasi kinakabahan ako," she said.
According to Banana Nite director Frasco Mortiz, they invited Kim Chiu kalokalike Charmae Viking to surprise Xian. However, the actor was caught off guard and resorted to poking fun on the impersonator, calling her Bea Binene.
Kim Chiu backed Xian Lim, who has already apologized for the incident via a series of posts on Twitter, saying it was not his intention to make fun of the impersonator.
"Of course, hindi ko naman siya kakaibiganin kung bastos siyang tao," Kim said.
